I have an old Hot Springs Solana hot tub, the heater stopped working. I called Spa Fixers based on the five star reviews. John (the owner) and I discussed the symptoms and he walked me through possible simple solutions. I attempted the repairs (like changing the pressure switch, replacing the filter, and resetting the tub), but the motherboard was clearly shot. John had provided an extremely reasonable price for retrofitting most of the inner components. He arrived within days and my spa is now running as if it's brand new. Spa fakers! I contacted this guy... Told him my problem.. He text back asking me the year of my tub. I sent him the tag on my hot tub. Although it's an older model. I have newer pumps and spa pack. He never responded... Crickets.. The very least he could have done is tell me he is not capable of changing a pump seal..His loss. I hired another company and it was fixed (pump seal)same day. Wow. JUST Wow. This is our second experience with John from Spa Fixers and I am SO impressed. We have an older spa that has had a couple of different issues over the last couple of years. We use it daily, so having it in working order is so important to us! First, and most importantly, John is very honest. Most of us don't know much about these things, so it would be easy for an unscrupulous person to take advantage of customers (and there aren't that many companies out there either). But no. John is incredibly helpful, and even suggested a fix that I could try myself to eliminate the service call completely. Who does that? An HONEST (and knowledgable) person. Did I say WOW? With our most recent problem, John was great about responding to my call/texts and was able to schedule us very quickly. (Did I mention we use this thing daily?) He had to replace a valve and rebuild the assembly. When he was done, he even waited for it to refill and start circulating to verify the leak had stopped. Further, he gave me some excellent suggestions for maintenance, and replacement of our badly worn cover. Times are tough right now. Supply chain issues have made it tough to buy new spas, so it is great that John from Spa Fixers can keep our old one running. During a spa drain and purge cycle, I made the mistake of leaving one of those oil absorbing sponges floating in the tub. Well, it got sucked down into the plumbing (because the filter was off for the purge) and I started to panic. I quickly reached out to John via voicemail, text and through yelp. He wrote back to me quickly, even though it was late on a Friday, and continued to communicate with me over the weekend. He said he'd be happy to come out to take a look, but also offered some advice on how I might be able to get the sponge out by myself. Armed with his advice and a cheap endoscope from Amazon, I was able to solve my own problem and probably save a bunch of money. I'm very appreciative of how John handled the situation, helping me solve it on my own, vs. taking a quick buck. Our spa stopped heating so I called John. He happened to have a cancelation and was able to come over and take a look immediately within 20-30 minutes of contacting him. We moved to a house last year and told the hot tub did not heat up. We assumed they were correct and thought it would be expensive to fix and run so we just left it covered and turned off. Now we have solar and started to look in to it. We sent an e-mail on the site and got a reply pretty quick asking for some additional info. I have a Cal-X model D spa bought 38 years ago. It no longer is part supported by Cal-X yet John finds a way to repair it when it breaks down.
