This is a really awesome shop. They're over 30 minutes away from me, but I always make the drive because they're honest, fast, flexible, and incredibly knowledgeable. I've only had good experiences here. They've never tried to upsell me or rip me off, they've always given me fair pricing, and they've always been upfront about what actually needed to be done. It's hard to find a shop you can truly trust, and that's exactly why I keep coming back. I highly recommend them. read more

Our pool pump died and was no longer available. Pentair had a new model. Scott talked to me about installation of the new pump. He said he had 12 in storage and he would go get one for me. When we arrived, it was in the counter waiting for me. They carried it to my car and told me if I had any questions with programming, just give them a call. It was well worth the drive from Stockton to Rancho Cordova to find a place that cares about their customers and takes time to answer all your questions. The pump was also $150 less than the major pool place in Stockton, where I hate to go. Callen's has earned my business and we will be back. Thanks Scott and staff. We appreciate you!! read more

If you have a broken pool sweep, this is the place to go! We brought in our Maytronic Dolphin, they fixed it on the spot with a new motor! Very fair price!! read more

These guys are just great. I hadn't even done any business with them yet and Everett spends all this time trying to help me troubleshoot my pool a half hour away. I can see why their reviews are just excellent. Very knowledgeable and honest people. Highly recommend! read more

Everett asked me to describe the problem with my Maytronics robotic pool sweep. He asked if it was ok to check it on the bench and he was able to change a few worn gears and got it working on the spot! I really appreciate his knowledge and experience and am grateful for the on the spot repair. Today the p ool is looking better already ! read more

We came in because our robotic pool cleaner has not been working. We were referred to Everett, the in-house expert. Everett took a look at it, did some cleaning on it, and advised us on what to do next. He also gave us advice on our leaky pool pump. Very knowledgeable, very helpful, we are now considering the purchase of a surface skimmer. If we buy one, it will be from here. Thank you, Everett! Also, Scott, The owner was very friendly and willing to answer our questions about the new pool cleaners. read more

I'm so thankful for Scott, Everett, and Martha. They not only help me keep my pool clean with the right chemicals, but they also help me keep money in my wallet by giving me instructions to make certain repairs myself. As a single woman, I appreciate learning new skills to help care for my home and pool. Other institutions talk down to me, but I've always felt more self-assured and ready to tackle tasks after talking with the staff at Callen Pool. Thank you for keeping my pool sparkling and my wallet from exploding. read more

I've been a customer of Callen's Pool Supply for several years. They've helped me troubleshoot my water condition numerous times with successful results. All of the employees are extremely knowledgeable and I especially have enjoyed getting insights from Martha when I visit. read more

I called and asked if they work on the specific pool cleaners I own and hallelujah they do! Probably the only pool supply store (other than Leslie's but please don't go that corporate smoke show. Shop local!) that could actually get the part I needed. The gentlemen who made the repairs were very friendly and they didn't overcharge me for the minor repair that was needed! Highly recommend this place for cleaner repairs. They know what they're doing! read more

Me and my family have been coming to this place for the past couple years now. Always have had a positive experience. Callen Pool Supply has taught me most of what I know about my pool. I go here regularly to test my pool water and to fill up my chlorine. Today when I went to get eight bottles of my chlorine filled up, I was helped immediately. The employee was very friendly and helped bring out the bottles to my car and put them in my trunk for me. Great price and was helped with exactly what I needed! read more

Update: the timer is not working properly and labor is not covered. We were offered a new timer, but I think we're just going with what we should have in the first place without losing all this money - a variable pump. read more

Scott and Martha were both very helpful and informative and that's what I needed for my new spa. Scott was very knowledgeable and thorough and made me feel comfortable and educated about the chemical process. I recommend them to everyone for their pool or spa. read more

Great knowledge, very helpful. Customer service has been outstanding! Will use again.

My heater needed repair, and Callen was helpful in getting the thing fixed. They were also reasonably priced, and interested in saving us money rather than selling stuff for top dollar. read more

Very knowledgeable and helpful. I have been fighting my pool for years and they finally convinced me to drain it and start over. The pool is better than it has ever been. Replaced my pump assisted pool sweep with a Polaris robot, gaming changing. The pool always looks great and I am saving $150/month not running the booster pump. A pool is a serious investment and you need to be dealing with professionals to keep it in top shape. read more

I reached out with a question, and even though I wasn't a paying customer, he took the time to give me thoughtful, free advice that actually worked. It's rare to find someone so generous with their time and knowledge. If this is how he treats non-clients, I can only imagine how great he is to work with. Highly recommend! read more

Scott and his crew are awesome! We've been Callen customers for 32 years. I never thought anyone could step up and fill Karen Callen's shoes (original owner) but yes he has! We appreciate their free water testing, great product selection, friendly staff. BUT most of all recently we appreciate all their repairs and even more Scott's amazing in depth research and advice for us somewhat handy pool owners. We have a 32 year old pool. This summer after being gone for some time we returned to find several problems (solar not connecting also its valve not opening, bottom cleaner gears worn & not working, return valve broken, etc. We got great advice on a workaround or two til parts arrive and repairs are made. We were able to purchase needed parts from them. Scott also researched and found the gears we need are no longer made. Thus he very wisely told us to find them on the Internet and get a stash for the future to avoid a very expensive repair bill. Scott also walked me through two easy ways to manually open the solar valve as the controller wasn't doing it as it should. Yep lots of issues old pool. Scott once told me he'd previously been in several aspects of the pool business: repairs, service and I think 1-2 other areas. It becomes obvious when you have a tough problem. Martha too is quite knowledgeable I imagine other staff are too. We really appreciate Callen's help! read more

This is a cute family run business. It's funny. The two older guys that helped me were pretty adorable. It was like grumpy old men in reverse. They were helpful and kind. May have spent a buck or two more than online but we'll worth helping the small business folks. Great place. read more

Friendly and knowledgeable, they answered all my questions about the pool at a home we recently purchased. They serviced my pool sweep quickly and it works perfectly now. Thanks Scott and Martha!!! read more

I have a "pool service" but they don't do pool pump repairs nor pool sweep repairs or pool pipe repairs. Callen Pool Supply does all these types of repairs. I contacted Callen and someone got back to me quickly, got all of the information and scheduled for their repair person to come out the next day. And, it's right before Christmas. So Zach came out and replaced the pipe for the pool sweep that had a leak, he took the broken pool sweep to Callen Pool Supply for repairs. I'm happy. It's a go to place for pool repairs if you too have a pool service that doesn't know anything about pool repairs. read more

Spoke to the owner about the screw holes for my drain cover having broken, a problem he said he had not encountered in 40 years in this business. He quoted me his price to fix it, which would involve draining the pool. Then he gave me a plan I could try myself without draining it. Worked like a charm. Highly recommend! read more

Being a first-time pool owner can be stressful, especially when things stop working as planned. I have contacted various companies for help with my automation problems. I called yesterday and spoke to Scott and inquired about purchasing a new robot. He asked why, and I shared my long list of frustrations. He then shared his knowledge and recommendations on correcting the problem and not putting a bandaid on the issue. Scott was the first person in the pool industry that was not trying to sell me a new controller; however, he advised that instead he would rather correct the problem that I currently have. With all that said, I'm on the books for someone to come out to get things up and going. I finally feel like I'm in good hands! read more

I had some very leaky plumbing issues with my pool valves. I requested quotes from some services and I was quoted as much as $450 for repairs. Called Pool Supply went out of their way to email me and call me to make sure I got the answers I was looking for. He told me EASY and CLEAR directions on how to disassemble and fix the leaks. I took the parts to his store, he cleaned the pieces and got me the parts I needed. $19 later and my leaks were fixed ALL because of the honest business they run at Callen. They have a new customer and I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a local business to support that has the best interest of their customers at heart. Yes, I'd drive 20 minutes to their store vs. their competitor that is only a 3 minute drive from my house because of the integrity they hold at Callen. Thank you SO MUCH for your help! read more

I recently brought our Nautilus pool sweep into Callin Pool Supply for repair. I was met by the owner Scott who sent me back to Everett who immediately took the time to troubleshoot, diagnose and check the ID number for its warranty. He discovered we had just two weeks left on the warranty. He then promptly contacted the manufacturer and was able to get the replacement part at no cost. I was thrilled. When I came in to pick up the unit, Scott, presented it to me at NO CHARGE! I was was shocked to learn all their time diagnosing, ordering, and replacing the defective part, was done free. I cannot thank them enough or recommend them more highly. What a winning business model! read more

Stopped by a couple of times for some items needed for the pool and the people here were super friendly and helpful.

Always the best service from Scott and his team. Scott knows everything about pool and spa care. I especially recommend them for help with a pump or pool sweep issue. Scott can fix anything at a very reasonable price (sometimes FREE). Seriously, can't recommend them enough. read more

We love this place. It came highly recommended by a coworker and we have not been disappointed! Everyone is super helpful and knowledgeable, and they sell everything you need to take care of your pool. They have helped us fix numerous problems with chemical imbalance and provided us with overall great advice. We also had them fix our pool sweeper and the cost was reasonable. This is the only pool store we go to! read more

I have been coming to Callen for over a decade and I get 100% service and sales. They stand by their work and always have the parts I need at a reasonable price for a local store. Sure you can get parts cheaper at Amazon but you don't get the personal service and free knowledge that Callen offers. Now that Scott is the owner, they added hot tubs and spas to their lineup. If I have a problem. I call Callen. I know they will be honest and fair. Let's all support this business. We need them. read more

My pool pump was not pulling the water through to the filter. After cleaning the filter and making sure there was nothing clogging the line, I thought I needed a new pool pump. I called Callen Pool Supply and spoke with Scott. He suggested that since the pump was running and I had cleaned the filters and there appeared to be no blockage in the pipes that it might be the O-ring at the basket next to the pump that needed replacement. He suggested I bring in the basket cover with th O-ring and he would take a look. He placed a new O-ring on the cover and lubed it. I went home put it back on the basket and now everything is working well! For less than $10, I saved over $2,000 in a repair/replacement of my pool pump. I am so thankful and happy to meet a knowledgeable and honest person in the pool supply and repair business. I will recommend Callen Pool Supply to my friends. read more

I usually use the convenience of Leslies' Pools wit their pool water testing manual machine at home. (I pay $50 per month and get $50 back to purchase chemicals). Prior to this I did my own testing and chemical calculation needs. My auto pool test today showed that I needed a huge amount of Calcium. I called Callen to ask if they had it in stock. The associate, a lady, advised waiting a few weeks and continue testing to see if the calcium level would start to increase as this pool is only one year old. She said that the calcium would continue to leach from the gunite. She stated that she has a greater than 20 year old pool and has never had to add calcium, but to the contrary has had to drain it twice for high calcium. I so appreciate advice over making a sale! I have added Callen Pools to my contacts. Thank you read more

I have been going to Callen since we moved here in 2001. Maybe it's the building, or "something in the water," but through multiple ownerships, this has been the place to go for friendly help, advice and repair. The staff will go above and beyond for you. A reliable pool store is a valuable and, in this case, unique resource. Jon B. read more

Well I figured I'd give Callen pool supply a shot for a starting capacitor that we desperately needed to get our pool going as the heat starts to pick up. Unfortunately they only had an old capacitor that was out of a previously used pump, I was a little standoffish because I assumed this would just go bad immediately after installation. The nice older lady assured me if it was bad they would be able to return it as long as we had the receipt. Ok, well it was plugged in and smoked right away. Fast forward 28 days and we received a new capacitor from Amazon that works right away, no problems. So we call Callen to see if we can return the capacitor since it was faulty from the start and Conner says to bring it in and as long as we explained the issue it should be taken care of. They say they test used Capacitors before hand to make sure it's within range, however I'm not sure if they can do a esr, esl or ripple current test so they most likely can't tell if it's good only testing microfarad ratings, and because of its age the electrolytics inside maybe bad.(I didn't bother to let them know that I already know this.) So I take it to Callen and talk to Scott the owner and explained that it smoked right away and he tells me something else blew it. I explained that the newer Capacitor works just fine and he told me that it's a bandaid and it won't last. Which is a possibility however not definitive. What definitely happened is it blew right away and to me that's a bad part and should be returned. He told me after driving there that there isn't anything he can do for me, and Refused to refund a 20 dollar capacitor. Too bad because had he refunded it he would have been my go to spot for a new pump when the time comes. I am so disappointed in their lack of customer service especially after having to drive there for no reason, which is not a short drive. All I know is Scott and Callen have lost any future sales from me, my grandmother and my parents pools. Funny how Callen will lose customers over a 20 dollar part, which is peanuts in the pool biz. read more
