Paid for a Drain, pool clean, water refill and rebalancing of pool chemicals. They seemed to think adding a couple of chlorine tablets and some liquid chlorine was adequate. They failed to add any conditioner or calcium chloride. Very important steps when getting the pool balanced. My pool was turning green. I needed a little more help this year getting it cleaned up. They came out and gave me an estimate. I agreed to it. Then they sent me an email telling me I needed to approve the job online. Then yet another one saying they needed to have my credit card info for a one time job. They want you to pay up front before doing the work. I told them I would pay by cash. That I only pay when the job is finished. What a waste of my time and theirs. What kind of company doesn't accepts money for payment? I view this place as yet another company taking advantage of seniors. Stay away at all costs. I will also be contacting the contractors licensing board regarding payment before the job is completed. It is my understanding that this is against the law. From the states website: Contractors installing residential solar, constructing accessory dwelling units (ADUs), performing home improvement work, or rebuilding homes in declared disaster areas (including new home rebuilding) shall not receive a down payment of more than $1,000, or 10 percent of the contract price, whichever is less. Except for a down payment, the contractor shall neither request nor accept payment that exceeds the value of the work performed or material delivered. read more

I contacted Nevergreen Pools for a one-time pool cleaning, expecting a straightforward service. After dealing with the hassle of having them come out for an unrelated solar issue, they informed me they would need to return a week later for the actual cleaning. When they finally came to clean the pool, the results were disappointing. While I appreciated that they chemically balanced the pool, they clearly missed a few spots (see photos). Upon reaching out to the company, I was contacted by Robert, the service manager. His response was that the technician "brushed those spots vigorously and had little to no effect." His suggestion? That I clean it myself with a wire brush, risking damage to the pool. It was obvious they did not want to return to finish the job. Determined to resolve the issue, and because I wanted my pool clean, I used a handheld sponge pad (extremely soft) and easily removed the missed stains myself with little effort. I did this about 1 hour after the service. So, after paying $175 to "activate my solar," $149 for a temperature sensor, and $260 for the one-time cleaning, this is the service I received. I understand that everyone is busy these days, but it seems like some companies, especially pool companies, don't even complete the bare minimum tasks. They always appear to be in a rush to get to the next job as opposed to taking their time to complete quality work. I hardly expect perfection, but if this were my company I would find it unacceptable. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Nevergreen Pools and won't be using their services in the future. read more

Nevergreen Pools has an unsustainable business model. Over the last 2 years, our full service pool maintenance went from $125/month to $210/month. After the first year, we were hit with a 28% increas. The latest rate hike was from $160 to $210, a 31% increase and with no prior notification. When I called to inquire about the rate increase, I was told, "It's to get you up to par." Their model will not retain their customer. We're moving on and giving our business to a smaller start up company. I suggest you do the same. read more

Nevergreen took over from a prior company. After months of consistent service, Nevergreen allowed our pool to turn green 3 times within four weeks in the middle of summer, and frequently ahead of events and gatherings. Upon starting salt service, they incorrectly added too much salt, close to 5,000ppm, far beyond the manfuacturer's recomendation. We've lost confidence in their ability to stay on on top of service and fired them. *Edit after reading Kyle's response: this is a SHOCKING mischaracterization of what occurred. We moved to El Dorado Hills in 2015 and before we chose Nevergreen Pools, we had been through three pool services, multiple technicians and even doing it ourselves. Our pool never worked perfectly and the cleanings left much to be desired with some folks even saying they cleaned when they didn't or rushing and skimping on service. Nevergreen pools does it all and very well for a reasonable price. They do pool service, but in addition, they do a great job optimizing scheduling, fixing and tuning pool equipment and anything else you need them to do; it's one stop shopping! We are extremely pleased with Kyle and his team and Kyle is very responsive for any of my special needs or questions. I had some Pentair lights fail which are covered under warranty. The first company they had contact me was JC Pools and the tech complained about how how crappy of a job this was for him and that Pentair was a pain for him to deal with. I then contacted Pentair to see if they could link me up with a different pool company and they had the guys at Nevergreen pools contact me. The lady that contacted me to make the appointment was super professional and they were able to get me on the schedule within days. The tech that came out was a younger guy, who was was super-nice and actually knew a lot of information about pools in general. It was so hard finding a pool service that would take on a new client, let alone one that didn't cost a fortune. We've had Nevergreen pools for about a year now and no complaints. The gentleman that came out to give us an initial quote was very informative and asked about our dogs and if they'd ever be out. Our dogs are spoiled and only go out if we go out but it was nice that he asked and they were willing to accommodate either way. They come weekly in a 3 or 4 hour time window and send us a picture and follow up email every week. We've had some issues getting auto pay set up but I don't fault them for that, they use a third party provider. Each time I've called when I notice my card hasn't been charged they take off the late fee and correct it. I don't mind issues as long as they're resolved the right way. They also keep an eye out on our pool equipment and let us know if anything looks like a potential issue. They take the hard work and trouble out of having a pool and we greatly appreciate it! read more
