Started off well. John is knowledgeable & willing to answer questions. He does not volunteer information despite his great pride in providing quality service. I hired him for chemical service only & that is all that is given for less than 5 minutes per week. Over a year ago, the pool sweep filter began developing debris, which John indicated was due to a tear in the filter. I also purchased a new pool sweep when he was first hired. I repaired the filter with RTV silicone based sealant. This cured the issue for 1+years. Recently, I noticed the debris recurring in the pool sweep filter. I left a note with his check inquiring (no reply). Then, today I telephoned him to ask why he had not given me a heads up. My husband witnessed the entire conversation. John accused me of yelling at him when I merely questioned him, & further stated he did not appreciate my tone. For a man who takes such pride in his work, it was surprising at his reaction. I've recommended him & secured a client for him. He said he has clients who love him & is now turning away others. I apologized (for nothing as my husband said I had every right to question him). John said we had this discussion previously & it was not his job to look nor does he even observe such issues. I wonder if he takes the same attitude for full-service clients. I know several who use him & they say he doesn't even let them know if water level is low or any other such basic care concerns. A simple handwritten note near pool equipment or in the mail slot is too much to ask from this guy. I get the responsibility, but for a guy who brags about himself, put in the real quality service that makes you stand out. In addition, shortly after hiring John, sent out a lengthy letter asking for a full month's payment for less than a full month's service due to a personal issue. That was a first. After my unwarranted apology, & his fractured ego unwilling to see me as a customer of value (purchased pool sweep, which could have been bought for less elsewhere, referrals), I said, "we're done." Beware of the guy that tells you how "impeccably honest" he is. That should speak for itself. He has mastered the art of omission in quality service - knowledge but no business sense if "he" feels offended. read more

John came over this morning and was great. I'm fairly new to pool ownership and didn't have anyone helping me with the do's and don't's of pool maintenance. John went over everything with me and explained each step. He replaced my pool sweep timer, reprogrammed my pool and hot tub pumps. He replaced O Ring on pool and hot tub pumps, and stopped my leaks. I called Bruce who was highly recommended and we live in Galt. He doesn't service this area but he is such a gentleman I would highly recommend him. He helped me on the phone for a long time and told me what to do and how to do it and he was right. Everybody else I talked to wanted to change my motors 2500+. We moved to California, bought a house with a pool, and had NO idea what we were doing. John is the only person who really talked to us about what we needed, not just what he offered. Now he takes care of the chemicals and equipment, we take care of the rest, and we couldn't be happier. Speaking of equipment, he has re-plumbed our spa (connected hot tub) because it turned out to have been plumbed backward (he was right), he replaced a pump when it went down, advised us well on heater options, and he keeps our vacuum robot running. Just right has been just right as they claim! We have employed them for over a year now, and during the hottest time of the year last year our pool was crystal clear and never had an issue. Our previous house pool with another company struggled to keep the algae bloom down by just over chlorinating. That is not the case with Just Right. Awesome!!!! John is the only person that took me seriously on a clogged sweep line in the pool wall. Not once did he tell me the sweep is off or did you clean your filters, etc. John Brace is the owner he came out, blew out the clogged line and gave me tons of useful information on how I could maintain my pool more efficiently. I followed what he said and my pool is sparkling clean with less work and less chemicals in a matter of days. Pool Maintenance Made Easy is his book it is full of information all pool owners should be aware of. For example all pool chemicals are not created equal.
