Before beginning the new installation, he took the time to identify for me all the old and unmarked water and electrical lines in the area. if there was a. better way to do something, he discussed it with me. And, when he and his worker came with the new equipment, they had it all installed in a day. The end result is so much better than what was there before. Lights, slide, jets, all work great. Best of all, I can now operate the pump, heater, timers, etc, from my phone and the app is so easy to understand. Not only is this the most worthless pool contractor in the greater Sacramento area, he is also perhaps the least professional person I have ever dealt with in my life. I can't believe the 4.9 stars he has on Yelp. They must either be fake reviews or he likely bribes people to write them. We needed someone to replace the tiles and plaster on our wading pool. His terrible, slow and disjointed communication from the start should have been the first red flag. Finally we manage to schedule a date to remove the old tile and plaster. His team shows up late, removes the plaster and tiles, and leaves without telling me. Now the fun part....they never came back! I called and texted for 4 days with no response. When I finally texted back to say that I assumed they had abandoned the job, he texts back in 5 minutes saying that "his phone had been broken." As an added bonus, his incompetent crew damaged the structure of the pool by jack hammering the old plaster off. Now I get to pay the new contractor extra to repair that before I finally get the new plaster on. STAY AWAY FROM THIS INEPT AND INCOMPETENT BUSINESS UNLESS YOU LIKE WASTING HOURS OF YOUR TIME AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS!

They couldn't figure out the electric timer which is real basic requiring 3 different people...maybe 4. They broke my filter and tried to use the silicone to rig it which failed. Broke the filter valve and stem in the sand filter. They also broke the stand but made sure they told me they replaced the $10 stand. We also had numerous delays. When I spoke to their pool equipment sub, he didn't know how the sand filter worked when he was hired to move, place it and re-plumb it. Wtf..... I previously wrote a much harsher review but took it down because I felt bad. This is my 3rd weekend in a row fixing the issues I paid them to do. Service level and quality is total crap.

We have never had a pool built before. Aquatique was the first and only contractor we called. We…read moreliked their expedient return calls and friendly presentation. Once we signed the contract, however, the service and friendliness was minimal. The pool turned out well and we are happy with the finished product. I attribute this to good subcontractors. There are, however, several things we would have done differently (lighting, water depth, steps, equipment placement, landscape) if they had been more consultative in their approach. No related options were presented. Not sure how other pool contractors wrap up, but once the plaster was completed and the water fill process begun, we never saw anyone again until the Office Manager came to physically collect the final check. Our front and back yards were left with dirt and debris everywhere. Our fence was haphazardly erected with scrap wood. We weren't sure if they were coming back for clean up or repairs - and they never did. The time we should have been sitting back enjoying our new pool was used to address the mess they left. At the end of the day, we love our pool but when you are spending so much money you expect exemplary customer service, and a clean job site, from start to finish. It seems by placing a bit more energy into consultation, customer service standards and clean up, they could have made this a much more positive experience. Update as of June 2015: we have had about four pool/equipment questions for Aquatique since the pool was completed. One cracked tile issue was expediently addressed by the subcontractor. Remaining issues, mainly concerning how to operate the equipment (for which we were not provided instruction) were handled with hostility and never addressed. Hard to believe a company can stay in business with this with this sort of customer service or lack there of. My only recourse is to downgrade my yelp review from 3 to 1 and recommend that you not use this company. If you Google this company you will find a similar customer service experience. Unfortunately I ignored it but now see it is Aquatique's style of doing business.

Their communication throughout the project was excellent. The quality of work is superb, with great attention to detail at every stage. Like any large project, we ran into a couple of minor issues along the way, but Joel, the owner, resolved everything quickly and professionally. With over 40 years in the pool building business, it's clear he genuinely cares about his clients and stands behind his work and customer satisfaction. Their follow-up on even minor issues was clear, concise, and prompt. Since all pool builders rely on subcontractors, responsiveness after installation is important, and Wells Pools was impeccable in that regard. We also appreciated the broad tile selection available, along with the knowledgeable experts at the tile manufacturer who helped guide the design choices. Our backyard has a very awkward shape, but Andrew designed a pool layout that not only fit the space perfectly, but also added dimension and improved the overall look of the yard. We also chose to use their recommended turf expert, which made the process much easier by creating a true one-stop-shop experience. We can't wait to finish our backyard in the next week. We've posted a few photos already and will share more once the landscaping and turf are complete.
