Shrimp and fish ceviche

This was absolutely the best ceviche I've ever had! Will definitely be returning next time I'm in the Miami area! Thank you!

Sabor a Perú delivers delicious, flavorful food that truly hits the spot. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned, the ceviche was fresh and perfectly balanced, and the drinks paired everything really well. Service was good and attentive, making the experience even better. If you're craving authentic Peruvian food, this is definitely a spot I recommend. Great food, great service, and a satisfying meal overall.

Finally tried Sabor a Perú and I'm so glad I did. It was packed when we arrived, but we were seated shortly after about ten minutes, which wasn't bad at all. It was actually my first time going even though I live so close, and it definitely did not disappoint. The food was amazing. The lomo saltado was flavorful, the grilled chicken was great, and the fish ceviche was even better. Everything tasted fresh and well seasoned. The service was great throughout the meal. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a casual dinner or a family meal. Overall, such a solid Peruvian spot and one I'll definitely be coming back to.

I'm totally obsessed with this place!!! The lomo saltado is a must have. The meat is tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. It's a cute little restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The employees are friendly and very attentive. If you're craving Peruvian food, look no further!

We visited Sabor El Peru and had a great experience. If you're looking for authentic Peruvian food with bold flavors, this place definitely delivers. We started with the Papa a la Huancaina, which was creamy, rich, and full of flavor. It was a great way to start the meal. For our entrées we ordered the Chaufa de Carne and the Pulpo al Olivo. The chaufa was packed with flavor and the portion was generous. The pulpo was tender and paired really well with the olive sauce. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was casual and welcoming. It felt like one of those local spots where you know the food is going to be good. If you're in Miami and want something flavorful and a little different, this is definitely worth checking out. Would happily come back again.

This place had a traditional feel to it. From the moment we walked into the restaurant and experienced the welcoming pleasantries of our hostess/waitress, I felt as if I had been transported to South America. My Grubbing Buddies and I and ordered several seafood dishes that looked to be amazingly authentic to those in South America. Unlike dishes from the Caribbean, not everything was brown and breaded. These dishes were tastefully good. If I ever find my way to this area again, I will be sure to try their hefty, plated meals.

Jalea (mixed fried fish and seafood) - the big lemon slices hide exactly how massive the portion is

Good place for taste Peruvian cuisine with super generous portions in a casual, cozy spot near downtown. The menu is quite large and hits all of the most popular dishes like saltados and ceviches as well as a very big assortment of fried or other seafood dishes, and even soups like parihuela. Seeing the tables around us, looks like their most popular dishes are the ceviches and fried seafoods including their impressive jalea (assorted fried fish and other seafood including shrimp, squid, scallops, etc.), their chicharron de calamar (fried squid rings), and even their whole fried fish. The two of us got the chaufa de pollo, jalea, and fish+shrimp ceviche to share. Even just two of the dishes would've been more than enough since the portions are very very generous here, so all three together was overwheling in a good way. The ceviche had nice big chunks of fresh fish but only a small part of it was shrimp, which I didn't mind since I like fish more but if someone expected half/half they may be a bit disappointed; the leche de tigre was flavorful but not too acidic, and the nicely softened sweet potato on the side complemented everything well. The chaufa had a nice smoky flavor as expected and even after eating until we were stuffed, there was enough to fill an entire take home box. It could've had maybe a little more salt or umami but paired with the fried seafood in the jalea it was great. The jalea was really the showstopper here, a mountain of fried seafood topped with some lettuce and a nice pickled red onion salad. The coating was light and gave all the seafood a nice crisp but wasnt overly salty or crispy, and everything was nicely cooked without being dry or chewy; the pickled onions and lemon slices helped balance out the flavors and prevent everything from feeling too heavy. Overall, we had a great time and definitely got the most bang for our buck compared to really anything else in the area. While the food isn't as fancy or flashy as some of the other popular downtown spots, Sabor a Peru is a great neighborhood place for no frills, tasty, filling Peruvian fare.

Casual peruvian restaurant in Edgewater.. nice spot for a casual lunch or take out on a day you're not in the mood for cooking! The ceviche is by far my fave, i have also tried lomo, but did not like it that much- last time the meat was not that great quality, the jalea is pretty good!! Service is fast & efficient, free parking os available in the back area.

The meal was good, but the prices have increased significantly. On top of that, they charge you an extra $5 on the bill because you pay with a Visa credit card, and they also charge you an 18% service charge without your consent, which is neither right nor against the law.

I really wanted to love this place since we've heard so many ppl rave about it. It was very difficult to leave 3 stars especially since the service was great. The staff was attentive and kind. We are indoors since it was a warm evening. The food was just OK. The ceviche was good but not the best I've ever had, we also had shrimp in garlic sauce which was not good at all. We left feeling disappointed not in the staff but in the food.

My partner and I were in the mood for some Peruvian food, so decided to give this spot a try. It was a fairly quick walk from where we were staying in Wynwood and the menu seemed fairly extensive. We ended up getting the Jalea and Lomo Saltado - both of which came in mondo portions (couldn't even finish half of it!). The food itself was delicious, and really appreciated the mix of seafood (and fresh quality) in the Jalea (just wish there were more shrimp). Saw another table get one of the seafood soups that also looked delicious too. Service was friendly and attentive too. Would def visit again!

We started with the bone marrow appetizer, and it was truly outstanding -- incredibly balanced, rich without being overwhelming, and so good we couldn't stop talking about it. We ordered the steak and eggs. The crunchy brioche, earthy mushroom purée, and beautifully sliced steak came together perfectly, and the saltiness of the caviar tied everything together in a really thoughtful way. The picanha was another standout! incredibly tender and full of flavor. We paired it with the broccolini and wagyu fat potatoes, both of which were absolutely delicious. To finish, we shared the ube cheesecake empanada. We were a bit hesitant at first, but it turned out to be the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal. The cocktails throughout the night were also excellent. We enjoyed the restaurant so much that we brought friends back later the same week. That visit was just as impressive -- we ordered the tomahawk steak, garden salad, bone marrow (again!), steak and eggs, truffle fries, broccolini, carrots, and tried all of the desserts. Once again, everything was delicious across the board. The only area for improvement would be the service. Everyone was kind and attentive, but at times too quick to clear plates and not proactive enough with the next course. At a restaurant of this caliber, I'd expect the dessert menu to be offered immediately after plates are cleared, rather than needing to track down a server. Overall, the food is exceptional, and we'll absolutely be back.

Seating is mostly outdoors and beautifully decorated, definitely a nice selection for an intimate event. Service was wonderful! The spanakopita was nicely flaky, the spinach filling wasn't overly bitter or pungent (my boyfriend is not a fan of strong feta flavors and enjoyed this while I am a feta enthusiast, we felt that this was right in the middle of our demands which worked great). We both love moussaka which is what my boyfriend ended up getting, dare we say it was our favorite moussaka out of any Greek restaurant in America thus far (coming from New Yorkers frequently visiting Astoria). It was broiled to perfection to give the cheese/béchamel layer a light crunch at the top and maintaining that richness underneath. The eggplant and ground meat were well seasoned. I really enjoyed my stuffed peppers as well (rice pilaf, ground beef, and feta on top), the tomato broth/sauce gave a nice sweet and savory flavor with the meal. Finally, a superb pistachio baklava, 10/10. Super impressed with what Miami had to offer for Mediterranean.

The happy hour menu is surprisingly grounded for this part of the city, offering some of the best prices I've seen in Miami recently--averaging $10-$12 for a mixed drink. While my friend sampled a few of the more complex options, I stuck to my standard Ranch Water, which was delivered perfectly. The service stood out here. The bartenders operated as a highly coordinated team, moving fast and effectively to manage a busy crowd without losing the ability to make personal connections through conversation. It's a level of efficiency you don't always see at high-volume rooftops.
