    Margherita Pizza.

Worth the wait for outdoor seating on a beautiful night! Pizza is delicious. Order the shrimp appetizer! It was amazing.

This place was in my list since a long time. I tried going here a few times but since they don't take reservations, I was put in a long wait time and couldn't try. But finally the time came! During winters the restaurant seems so cozy, rustic and perfect for a date night. And with summers they have outdoor seatings which looks a lot of fun too! It's a BYOB place. Coming to main part - FOOD We started off with a nice refreshing salad Siciliana - we gobbled up on it and it was finished within five mins! :) For pizzas, we ordered with class Margherita and Nostra (without the meat) - devoured both the pizzas! The wood fired pizzas were mind blowing and outstanding! The ricotta was so fresh - absolutely amazing! The staff is working continuously with a smiling face and so friendly!

We had a fantastic experience! This cozy Italian spot is a BYOB gem where the food truly shines. For just $100, we enjoyed a full spread: a fresh arugula salad, savory meatballs, pizza, pasta, and dessert--everything was delicious. Though they don't take reservations, we were seated immediately. I can't wait to go back!

Outside on a frigid night in December (the fire really helps!)

    - Restaurant was already packed when we arrived at 5:20p on a frigid Friday evening--if you miss the first seating at opening, be prepared to wait close to an hour; tables did open up throughout our meal but were immediately filled by new diners - The outdoor fire pit was a lifesaver and kept us warm and toasty while we waited outside - Very small, cozy, intimate space--tables are close enough that you're essentially sharing with your neighbors; removing even one table would make things more comfortable, as servers currently have to pull tables out to let diners in and out - Holiday music was playing in the background, but mixes in and out with the neighboring conversations - Service was extremely friendly from start to finish--genuinely warm hospitality - Food was PHENOMENAL--everything we ordered was absolutely delicious: we initially wanted the Polpo (octopus), but since they were out, our server recommended the Gamberi (shrimp), which was EXCELLENT--succulent shrimp topped with savory toasted breadcrumbs; Polpette (meatballs) were fresh, soft, and moist; Regina Margherita pizza arrived hot and loaded with a light, tangy tomato sauce and gooey mozzarella; Capricciosa pizza came out just as hot and fresh, offering a more earthy, savory flavor--personally would've preferred more mushrooms and fewer olives, but the flavors still married beautifully; we customized the Rigatoni by removing the spice and adding ground sweet sausage--the pasta was cooked PERFECTLY al dente with a satisfying bite, and the sauce was rich and flavorful without being overly heavy - Pizza is quite floppy, though the crust itself is soft and pleasantly chewy - A credit card fee applies here

Great speed and service. The pizza is some of the best in NJ. The outdoor seating is great in the summer with music and the inside is nice in the winter.

We visited on a Saturday night, knowing that this place doesn't take reservations and tends to get very busy. We arrived around 5:45 PM and were told there would be about an hour wait for a table. Although there were outdoor tables available, it was too cold to sit outside, so we decided to wait. To pass the time, we grabbed a drink at Steel Wheel nearby, and sure enough, our table was ready in exactly an hour. The restaurant is a bit tight inside, but our waiter was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The four of us ordered three pizzas, an appetizer, and two pastas to share. The pizza was just as delicious as I remembered. I hadn't tried the pasta before, but the vodka sauce pasta was absolutely outstanding--the spice level was perfect, and the pasta was cooked to perfection. Overall, this is a fantastic spot, but be sure to arrive early to avoid a long wait!

Our friends had hyped up this place so our expectations were high! Thankfully we got seated right away and ordered Nostro and Bianca . The place is small and the seating is very tight so we relished the smell of the nearby pizzas while waiting for ours. The service was fast and the pizzas no doubt were one of the best and I see myself coming here over and over again in future. Completely blown away with the taste and freshness of the cheese. I gobbled them within minutes. Wish they took reservations, heard they are super busy almost always. Anyway perfect carb load for a Sunday afternoon

Best pizza in the area. Everything is so authentic and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the meatballs here!!

Absolutely delicious!! We tried 2 of the freshly oven baked pizzas. Super thin crust and just melted in your mouth! Margarita was great and the "Nostra" with spicy sopressata, red onion, ricotta, roasted red pepper and hot honey was amazing. Loved the meatballs!! A must order!

The three wine bottles we finished

It is like being in Napoli, Italy! Fresh homemade pasta! We were a party of 10! For appetizerswe had gamberi, torreta, and polpo! The shrimp, eggplants and octopus were all delicious. Octopus was tender and soft! Eggplants and fresh mozzarella was to die for! And the shrimp in cast iron was so tasty! For pizza, we had a margherita! It was like being in Napoli Italy! The dough was soft and airy! The pasta was freshly made! We had the tagliatelle. The bolognese sauce was perfect! Not sour or sweet! The pasta was soft, thick, and al dente! , We had the menu special, steak with potatoes seared in the pizza oven! We had it medium rare! It was cooked perfectly! We brought our own birthday cake which they charged a $25 cut fee! We wished it was waved off for the amount of food we ordered. We had two of each appetizers we ordered and a pizza and pasta for each couple! The place is a BYOB and we brought 5 bottles of wine that we finished! This saved us a lot on the alcohol bill! All and all, this place had great service and great food! Also, the olive oil tasted fresh from Italy! It was great with the bread!

Casual pizza spot with great service and good music. The ingredients are so fresh. My one feedback is that the pizzas can be very soggy from the toppings. The center crust was very floppy and soaked in oils from the toppings but the flavor was still excellent

This spot is small and cozy gem. The staff definitely gets workout pushing tables out to let people on bench in comfortable manner before pushing it back. This spot felt very much like a date night the day we went but needless to say my friend and I still enjoyed ourself. This place is byob and they have sangria mix I believe on the menu if you wanted to add your wine. For appetizer we ordered caprese di bufala and it was yummy. For entree we got spicy rigatoni and toscana pizza no sausage. The pasta was a little el dente for me but sauce was good however the pizza here won me over as it was delicious. I would definitely come back here to try the other pizza. The service was great and attentive. They do not take reservations so the wait can be long.

No place in the US is as good as true Italian, until this place. This is authentically Italian in the best way. The food is all fresh, farm to table. The pasta was freshly made; the tiramisu was the best I've had outside of Italy, and better than many in Italy, which I've never said in the US anywhere. The staff was delightful and helpful. The head chef is truly Italian and knows what she is doing!, Elisa and Aydon were both fantastic servers. Give both of them a bonus! The ambiance was great, with beautiful lighting and decor. We tried two of the specials: the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe, which was absolutely delicious, and the chicken saltimbocca, which was fantastic -- by far the best dish of the night. We also had the cacio e pepe pasta, which unfortunately missed the mark. It was extremely undercooked -- even hard to cut with a butter knife -- so that was a bit disappointing. That said, everything else was wonderful! The desserts were outstanding -- their tartufo is unique and not like others I've had, and the Nutella ricotta pie was my absolute favorite. Very rich, very sweet, and a generous portion. Despite the pasta hiccup, we really enjoyed our meal and would absolutely come back again! Oddly they don't have a cappuccino maker and no regular coffee-just espresso I believe.

We tried the cheesesteak empanadas, croquettes, bbq pulled pork arepa, garlic shrimp, octopus, short rib gnocchi and finished with tres leches cake. My favorites were the octopus, shrimp, gnocchi, empanada, and tres leches cake. Croquettes were the least favorite, just not exciting, and they were kind of smashed. The octopus was very tender and enjoyed the sauce and sundried tomatoes that came with it. Everything came out at the right temperature and at a good pace to not overwhelm the table with dishes. We strolled in at around 5:45 on an early Saturday evening on a brick cold New Jersey day and they were BUSSSSY. There weren't many patrons dining inside their small restaurant, but there seemed to be PLENTY of takeout business for whole pies and delivery too. In addition, they had, if my count was correct, at least 9 gentlemen working behind the counter, which pretty much speaks for the volume of business they have (else they are grossly overemployed and overpaying). From what I saw just based on the pizzas on display next to the cash register, the slices looked pretty good. Unfortunately, as the old saying goes, looks can be deceiving. Not to say that the pizza was bad, but it could have been better on multiple fronts. We ordered 4 slices - plain cheese, pepperoni, buffalo and a Santoni's Special. In addition, my wife, veering on the healthier (and smarter) side, ordered a pear salad with chicken. First, I didn't get to try the pear salad, but my wife raved about how good it actually was and how she thoroughly enjoyed it as we munched on our pizza, which she should have been jealous of, but shockingly wasn't. Second, the pizza. My kids ate almost the entirety of their plain cheese and pepperoni slices, so I didn't have a chance to try them, other than a few roni cups that my son claimed were too spicy for him. As for my slices, the buffalo and Santoni's Special, the buffalo was a doozy. When I bite into a buffalo pizza slice, there's nothing I hate more than the fact that it lacks buffalo flavoring and this one was one of those cases. It was more on the side of just tasting like a chicken pizza slice with a slight hint of buffalo flavoring, if that. The Santoni's Special was a bit better in that it had green peppers, sausage, pepperoni, onion and mushroom. It reminded me of a Sbarro supreme slice of pizza. It might not seem like much of a compliment, but I actually enjoyed the Santoni's Special, albeit it was not on the piping hot side, nor did it keep is shape. In fact, neither slice I had was hot, which was very surprising considering that it took a while for them to be served to us, which can only have meant that it was heated up in the oven --- or so I thought????? Also, both slices I ate completely fell apart in that when I tried to fold them in half (like how a true New Yorker eats their slices of pizza), they cracked at the crust and broke creating a fissure looking like I had cut the pizza in that area. It was somewhat annoying as I had to eat the slice with 2 hands, which to me, is a big no-no as one should be able to devour a slice by holding it with just one hand. What self-righteous pizza lover holds a slice of pizza with 2 hands? Well, I had to unfortunately because of the fault line on my pizza. The pizza here definitely has potential and I don't know what a whole pie would taste like, but I'm pretty sure it would be fresher than the slices we had. I get that pizzas where slices are served from are typically sitting out for long periods, but you gotta heat the slices up a lot longer. Cold pizza should only be reserved for the morning when you wake up from that hang over and don't have the mental acuity to throw it in the oven or microwave it.

After visiting the Hackensack location recently, we decided to give the other location in Ridgewood a try as well since we loved the pizza so much at the original. We dropped in at around 5:15pm on a very quiet Memorial Day weekend Sunday evening and, as expected, the restaurant was also very, very quiet. We were only the 2nd group of diners for the evening, although it did get pretty busy as the evening wore on, including many pick up orders. We ordered a Caesar Salad to start along with the Combo Platter, which came with some fried ravioli, fried mozzarella, & chicken fingers. First, the Caesar Salad ---- we ordered it just to get some greens in our systems, but it was pretty much like the one served in Hackensack. The croutons in the salad were just cut up pieces of the bread that they include in the order as a side, but stale-tasting. As for the Combo Platter, that was decent, but the fried ravioli felt a bit empty, as in it felt like I was just eating a square piece of fried dough with no filling. The fried mozzarella and chicken fingers were decent, however, having some marinara sauce to dip them in DEFINITELY helped. For our entree, we shared a medium Tomato & Cheese pie with 1/2 Pepperoni. As I said, the reason we came here was because we absolutely loved the pie from the Hackensack location and didn't expect anything less here. The pizza pie came out piping hot, which was a great sign. Flavor-wise it was fantastic - the tang of the tomato sauce was delicious and the amount of cheese was perfect. Honestly, it was still one of the best pizzas I've EVERRRR had and I've had my fair share of pizza in NYC and New Haven. BUT...yes, there's a BUT here, where in Sam Hill was the pepperoni?!?! I encountered just a measly 9 pepperonis in total on the half of the pie that had it. Seriously, 9?!?! If I can count the number of pepperoni cups on the pizza, you better believe there is a problem...BIG problem. At the Hackensack location, we had the problem of having TOO MANY pepperoni cups, including 2 or 3 stacked one on top of the other. Anyhow, the pizza was still great, but more evenly spread pepperoni would have helped. Soooo, back to the service though. I'm not sure what it is about both locations, but the waiters really come off as rude - no "You're Welcomes", no "How is everything going? Can I get you anything?" Not much interaction at all. To be honest, not a whole lot of professionalism. At the Hackensack location, the waiters seem a bit more seasoned, but something still seems off, while at the Ridgewood location, we just didn't feel very welcome. Maybe we were being a bit sensitive, but having felt like we have dined everywhere, it felt easy identifying the "blah" service. Doubt it was an off night. Bottom line. The pizza is GREAT here and you definitely get your money's worth with the large, but don't come here thinking you're walking into the Cheers bar anytime soon.
