I finally got around to trying Cravings after it being on my to-visit list forever. I went for an early lunch on a Saturday afternoon, opting to park in the commuter lot across the street. I did make reservations earlier in the week, but when I arrived with my mother, the restaurant was empty. We were seated and the server explained the menu to us, as well as letting us know we could purchase a bottle of wine that they would turn into sangria. We started out with a variety of tapas options, all of which were flavorful and enjoyable. They have many gluten-free options, and the menu is very simple to navigate. We received a large jug of sangria, but I was sadly unimpressed with the quality. Perhaps it was the wine itself and the lack of maceration for the fruit, but it was rather unpleasant. I would suggest taking advantage of the BYOB option and bringing something you know you'll enjoy. The restaurant is clean and offers a calm, intimate setting for enjoying small plates.

Surprisingly slow traffic at 5pm on a weekend. Greeter was nice and attentive. The food was above average but a little pricey.

Cozy environment. Delectable dishes with a wide assortment of options. Ample portions and equal attention to the aesthetics of plating and abundance of flavor. Pattatas Bravas and Tuna are particular favorites. Staff were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about their offerings. Kept my drink topped up. Easy access to train station if you want to grab a bit before traveling.

We went as a group. Very busy Friday night and food came out fast. Flavors were on point and range is wide. The onion ring stack was the highlight in presentation and the coleslaw made it worth the calories. They also had a white sangria which was refreshing.

Made reservations for a Saturday night and glad I did because it was pretty packed. The restaurant itself is smaller and it was a bit loud because of the busy crowd. The food was average and our best pick was the shrimp and sangria. Also found it to be a bit pricey for the portions but if you're looking for something different I'd say give it a try.

Had a phenomenal dinner here! I ordered a couple dishes as they are tapas style so they are smaller. The Pulpo was very tasty and not chewy. The Chorizo and Potato's were SO good! I also loved the Ricotta Gnocchi, A MUST TRY! Make sure to save room for dessert because I devoured the Napoleon, the cream they put in it is so delicious! I also got the warm flourless chocolate cake which came topped with whipped cream and was delightful! Definitely check this spot out if you are in the Ridgewood area, you will not be disappointed!

I love this place! I've gone a few times, once for my birthday, and I loved it! The food was delicious! I really do love small plates, you can sample a little bit of everything which is nice. My one friend and I split Pulpo a la Gallega (this melted in your MOUTH it was so good), Truffle Fries, and the Braised Skirt Steak Quesadilla. All so delicious. The service was excellent! Our waitress was very attentive to our table. It is a smaller place and we had a lot of people at our table, and they accommodated us really well! The restaurant has such a cozy, warm feel. I can't wait to go back!!

We visited Cravings Tapas Bistro for some outstanding small (and large!) bites!! Each dish was more flavorful than the last! This is the perfect date night spot or for a gathering with friends or family. Our server Carlos took the best care of us! Be sure to give them a follow on the socials and stop by next time you're in Ridgewood! And don't forget to BYOB or enjoy some of their super delicious sangria! Service was friendly and good. The highlights of the meal- onion rings were so good! The middle of the tower had sort of cole slaw like Houston's - delicious. The skirt steak - delicious and enough to share. Truffle fries and creamed spinach were good too Philly steak empanada was very good too. Ricotta gnocchi was ok Risotto balls not good Will definitely be back.

Always enjoy coming here. Make sure to have reservations. The food is all good. Cannot think of any dish I didn't enjoy. The Napoleon dessert is so good. Restaurant is a bit pricey. For two, we spent $155. Yes, we had a half pitcher sangria, but that was not the only contributing factor to the high bill. Each dish averages about $20. Staff is really attentive to their customers.

We're in beginning phases of opening with only outdoor dining available but cravings has delivery through Ubereats and doordash so we ordered tapas. Everything was very good. The paella was delicious and the corn was very flavorful. My husband loved the skirt steak and fries, it's tapas so portions are not huge but they're filling. The paella was very filling for me. Great for sharing and doing some tapas and drinks at home.

The food is still great. We had scallops, chorizo, brussels sprouts, and a flounder ceviche special. Everything was delicious. The ceviche in particular stood out -- fresh, well-portioned, and nicely "cooked" in lime juice. The sangria is still a highlight too. A big carafe, no ice watering it down, served with glasses full of fruit. The problem is the service. They had two servers and one bus person, and it showed. Everyone seemed to be scrambling, and it was hard to get a moment of attention to ask for anything or even be heard. Our food came out in pieces -- three items, then a long delay, then another. The last dish, calamari, never came. When I tried to tell the waiter we didn't want it anymore if it was forgotten, he didn't listen and insisted on bringing it anyway. We ended up waiting even longer, which just made the experience more frustrating. To top it off, they're now adding an operating/service fee (around 3-4%), which wasn't clearly communicated and just showed up on the bill. It's disappointing because the food is still very good, but the service issues -- and now the added fees -- are taking away from the experience. After this visit, we'll think twice before coming back.

I was agreeable. Dinner would be her Christmas gift to me. I picked her up and we drove to the Viva Margarita in Wallington, where we often eat. In the past I wrote a positive review about them. It was about 1pm when we pulled in, and the parking lot was empty, except for 1 car containing 2 guys. I tried the front door of the restaurant; it was locked. I know a lot of restaurants close on Christmas Day (I have vivid memories of being on my own on Christmas Day over 20 years ago, and the only restaurant I could find open after an increasingly desperate search was a Chinese take-out place at an otherwise empty mini-mall in Wayne), but why Christmas Eve? I got into the car, shrugged. My birth mother looked at the 2 guys in the other car. They looked away. I glanced over, saw them looking at us again, but they quickly turned away when they saw me giving them the once-over. I was hoping they were going to get out of the car and proceed to open the place up, but they remained seated, staring straight ahead when they weren't casting furtive glances our way. Were they, like us, potential patrons confused about whether the place was going to open or not? Were they employees (I quickly chastised myself-- Sure, Mr. Liberal, just because they look Hispanic, they must be employees. So much for your pompously self-declared progressive ideals...)? Maybe they thought WE were the employees, and were waiting for us to open the place up? Maybe they were just 2 guys who parked in an empty parking lot to talk, or smoke, or whatever. After a few more seconds of increasingly ridiculous back-and-forth looks, I finally stated the obvious to my birth mother: "This place must be closed." "What about those guys in the car next to us?" "I don't know, but I don't think we're getting inside today." As I pulled away, she mentioned El Cid in Paramus. I had never heard of it, but she said she had gone there a few times over the years and that they served pretty good burgers and such. I was game. I followed her directions north through Lodi, Rochelle Park, and into Paramus. El Cid is a pretty big place, and parking was plentiful. George Washington Cemetery, where my parents are buried, is only a stone's throw away. Inside, we were escorted through a spacious dark paneled room to a table in the corner and presented with menus and a basket of fresh bread. The prices on the menu were very high, and my birth mother agreed that they must have upgraded things entirely since she last ate here. I offered to help with money, but she declined, insisting it was her treat. I could pay the tip, which I did. Let's just say the tip cost as much as I might pay for a entire meal in some lesser establishment. I can't remember what she had, but I ordered Arroz Con Pollo, which was Spanish rice with chicken breast. The addition of chorizo was an extra charge. I was tempted, but given that Mom was paying, I denied myself. Turns out, it was just as well. The food was plentiful and delicious. It seemed a more simplified version of Paella, which I used to eat at the Portuguese restaurants on Ferry St. in Newark back in the ancient days of my youthful gluttony. That paella was served with all kinds of chicken, seafood and sausage, but now, in my old age, I didn't miss all that over-abundance. El Cid's version was more limited in terms of ingredients-- Spanish rice and chicken breast-- but it was perfect. Plenty of stellar food that left me completely full, but not to the point where I was uncomfortable. It was served with Spanish chips, which were tasty, crispy, and not oily like the potato chips from my childhood (and adolescence). Spanish chips were unfamiliar to me, but they were excellent. For dessert, we split a large, creamy slice of carrot cake. Service was friendly and efficient. Bathrooms were clean. Like I've said, the prices here are, plebeian that I am, VERY high but the food is wonderful, and there's plenty of it. Highly recommended.

The well-curated and balanced menu is focused on Spanish/Mediterranean dishes and tapas, all expertly prepared with quality ingredients. I genuinely loved everything. We ordered fried calamari misto (fantastic!), bacalao croquettes, polenta crostini, and Olar salad (simple but delicious) to start. For our mains, the paella Valenciana and mariscada salsa verde were profuse with fresh seafood - and the mussels and clams were delightfully fat and plump. The grilled skirt steak, which we requested medium rare, was perfectly cooked. Complimentary garlic herb crostini is brought to the table, and we were given fresh crusty-chewy rosemary focaccia bread brushed with olive oil as well. We were too stuffed to go for dessert but I think the offerings were a molten lava cake, vanilla panacotta, a cheesecake of some sort, and caramel flan. The owner was there and came around to greet everyone. They are currently doing a soft opening so there's no liquor license yet, and it's cash only right now, but everything seems so well run already. This is a true foodie destination, especially for Rockland. Highly recommended and a hearty 5 stars!
