Decor gets 5,stars, food gets 3. Food wasn't bad by any means, just underwhelming. Chicken & Waffles were not memorable, the sandwich fared better. Portions were generous though one of the orders was messed up and took a bit to correct, not sure the waitress understood or paid attention. Skip the curly fries option and stay with the steak cut fries...fresher and better for sure. The train theme was well executed and the wall art complemented each room well.

I came here for a drink and apps with a friend. I've been here before but it's been a while. The place has great decor and nicely decorated with a rustic feel. They have a lot of beers on tap and cocktails. The cocktail I had was delicious. One of the best I've had in a while. They had a happy hour so we ordered some food. Loaded potato skins were great they were twice baked. They were very filling. Waitress was friendly and helpful. There is a large parking lot in the back which is helpful in a busy town. I will definitely be back!

Good food, good drinks and good service! We sat outside in the patio area, it was quiet and peaceful. We had a great time!

I found this place when looking for a new brunch spot and was so happy I came across it! I rarely find myself in Glen Rock but will definitely be coming back for this place. It's located in a shopping center, but don't be thrown off- the interior is very trendy! My friends and I each had a mimosa flight and loved them! The three options were all delicious and the perfect portions. It made it very easy for me to decide what I would order next time. I also had the breakfast tostadas and loved them. We will definitely be back!

This was my second time at Stone and Rail. Although I really enjoyed the atmosphere, as well as the location itself; the first time I would say that I was definitely underwhelmed with my meal.. and in short, I knew that I would not return for steak here again... So, when my friend suggested that we come here for lunch, I wasn't even familiar with the name until we pulled up... and open-mindedly gave it another shot. I'm so glad that I did! I did see gluten-free options clearly marked on the menu, but as I was not sure if gluten-free buns were available, I decided to ask. And they were! I'm not sure where they source their bread from, but it was definitely one of the better gluten-free buns I've had. Once I knew that that was an option, I decided on the bacon blue burger, and was very happy with my decision. Being cooked to a nice medium rare, the patty itself had flavor, which is not something that I find often. The toppings were fresh, and the shoestring fries were a good accompaniment. My lunchmates were also happy with their meals, as well as our drinks all around. I could see myself returning to see what other gems the menu has to offer!

When we attended an event earlier this year we had a major issue with the manager. After contacting the owner, he went out of his way to make things right for our social group. He hosted a lovely event for us and the food and drinks were wonderful.

Fun, sports-type bar with some events like trivia night. Hot honey pepperoni was really good.

We came here for brunch. The food was good and very affordable. The prices were not the the end of the world considering we traveled out from NYC. We ended up getting a bottle of Prosecco and an orange juice on the side since it was cheaper than getting individual mimosas. There wasn't that many frills, however the ambiance was very nice. The service was kind and didn't rush us. We ended up sitting there for a little over an hour and a half.

The manager has no customer service experience. The food was mediocre. The ambiance felt like they are not welcome to minorities.

10/5 Stars!! We…read morerecently had my Mom's 60th birthday party at the Railyard Tavern. I worked with Bob in coordinating everything. He was very accommodating and quick to reply to email. He was a big help in answering any question I had. Our party was roughly 25 people and we reserved the back room for the party. The back room was big enough for all of us to fit comfortably without it feeling cramped. We ordered the apps ahead of time and were told that they would be ready at 5:30. Sure enough, at 5:30 all of the apps came out and they were a big hit. Everything was fantastic. We got some large pizzas, nachos, mozzarella sticks, potstickers, and calamari. There was practically nothing left. The entree's were great and came without delay. I didn't hear a single complaint from any of the guests. I'd be remiss if I didn't talk about our waiter for the night, Alan. I don't think I've ever seen someone be so on top of things before. He handled the whole room essentially by himself and somehow it never seemed like there was a single hiccup the whole night. He was beyond excellent. He was such a good communicator and kept me in the loop with timelines and was overall very organized. He played a significant role in the night going as well as it did. My whole family, and most importantly my mom, had such a wonderful night. And I have Bob, Alan, and the rest of the staff to thank for that.

It barely had onions in it and it was a twist to the normal original French onion soup. I was quite disappointed. The kids pizza wasn't fully cooked on the bottom. The Mac and cheese had a weird taste to it. The slice steak had zero flavoring to it. The Caesar salad was a disappointment because we requested not as much as the dark section of the lettuce and clearly that was all that was given. The waitress was great. The ambiance is very casual.

Great food, great space and GREAT service…read more We dropped in at around 5:45 PM on an early Friday evening and had NO IDEA this restaurant was as big as it was once we got in. Although it looks quite modest on the outside, this restaurant actually has THREE dining rooms inside. Yes, THREE! The main dining room contains the bar and classic tavern booth seats, while the 2nd and 3rd dining rooms have your typical tables with chairs. We were seated in the last dining room, which probably was the largest of them all. The menu was very typical of your neighborhood pub/tavern - simple appetizers, burgers/sandwiches, salads and entrees. As we always did, we had already done research ahead of time and knew what we were ordering even before we stepped in. For our kids, we ordered the Kids Mac & Cheese and Kids Burger Sliders with American cheese and French fries. Both came with a beverage and ice cream. My better half got the restaurant's self-proclaimed 'Famous' Sliced Steak Dinner with a Baked Potato and I ordered the Prime Rib Cheesesteak topped with cheddar, peppers, garlic aioli, and onions served with a side of fries. First, the Kids meals. The Kids Mac & Cheese was LEGIT. None of that Kraft stuff. This was real, authentic, fresh cooked on the stovetop Mac & Cheese. The Kids Burger Sliders were 3 oz each and were pretty big. I had a small piece of one and it was shockingly goooooood. They were expectedly well done, but still very good despite the fact that they were not medium. As for the 'Famous' Sliced Steak Dinner, the sliced pieces of steak were tender, juicy and flavorful. Don't think we've ever had a sliced steak meal quite like this one and it was verrrrrrry, verrrry good. As for my Prime Rib Cheesesteak, dare I say it was probably better than some Philly Cheesesteaks I've had in Philly??????? YES, I said it! The bread was pillowy super soft and the chopped up pieces of cheesesteak were delicious with the toppings. There isn't much happening in the downtown Glen Rock area, so it's not hard to proclaim The Glen Rock Inn as possibly the best restaurant in the area. However, with that said, the food was great, the amount of space inside of the restaurant was more than multiple restaurants combined and the service from every single employee we encountered was fantastic. Even if The Glen Rock Inn was located in a dining hotbed, like Ridgewood, it would still be close to the top of my list of places to dine at in these neck of the woods.

We stopped in mid-week for a family dinner after work and even on a Wednesday the place was buzzing. The restaurant itself is pretty tiny, which makes for a cozy atmosphere but also means tables are very close together. If you can, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. The menu is somewhat minimal, but the food overall was good. I eat gluten-free and noticed the options were a bit limited, which made ordering slightly challenging. I ended up going with the sea scallops. They were nicely cooked, but the portion was smaller than I expected--five small scallops with some vegetables. For the price, I do wish the portion had been a bit more generous. I have to admit I left still a little hungry. My dad ordered the short rib grilled cheese and really enjoyed it. That was probably the standout dish at our table. My sister ordered the honey bourbon chicken and said it was okay, but afterward she mentioned she probably should have gone with the short rib grilled cheese instead. One surprise of the night was live music on a Wednesday. I usually enjoy live music, but since we were hoping to catch up as a family it made conversation a little difficult. The music was fairly loud for such a small space. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. They also have a rewards program, which worked out nicely--my dad received a complimentary dessert for his birthday. I ordered the crème brûlée, which was a great way to end the meal. A couple practical tips: parking in Ridgewood can be tricky. The restaurant advertises valet parking, though we didn't use or see it during our visit. If you find street parking, make sure to feed the meter because the town is known for giving out tickets. In warmer months they do offer some outdoor sidewalk seating, though it looks fairly limited. It also appears they have a happy hour, though we didn't arrive in time to try it. Overall, I'd recommend checking out Steel Wheel Tavern--just be mindful of the timing of your visit, especially if you're hoping for a quieter dinner.

[Blowing on my nails.] The menu is a mix of American comfort food and gastropub classics, but with flair, and has a bit of everything to satisfy different palates. Our eyes were probably bigger than our stomachs as we ordered 2 apps, 2 entrees, and 2 cocktails, and it was an enormous amount of food. The portions are definitely what you'd call hearty, and everything was very tasty. Thursdays are all day happy hour so we picked the fried calamari appetizer at the HH price (still a full and generous plate and didn't seem like a downsized version) which were tender and well-battered, as well as the hot honey wings which were meaty and substantial. The short rib parpadelle with housemade pasta and a perfectly medium-rare, well seasoned hanger steak with truffle fries completed our satisfying and belly-stuffing meal. The cocktails are serious as well - the presence of a drink with egg white is my personal litmus test for a bar that knows what it's doing, so the Thyme to Bloom special had my name on it. I'm salivating just looking at photos of dishes I didn't order, and am already plotting my return!
