When this storage company was run by old management and previous owner there were no issues. Since…read moreit has switched to Extra Space there has been multiple issues. First, the elevators; either one or the other has been broken. One elevator has been broken now for almost a month. The inside of the elevators are dirty and smear marks seem to never disappear off the walls. The floors of the storage unit never seemed to be swept. My wife and I move things in and out of our storage and dust and particles are always flying around. Those same dust and particles seem to always be there, some for weeks. With previous ownership, the floors were always cleaned and often we would see the employees sweeping and taking out the trash. With prior management and owner, the AC was always on. The inside was nice and cool and you hardly broke a sweat when moving things in an out of your storage, now it's like a sauna in there and makes it uncomfortable to even more a little. Since Extra Space has taken over, the AC has been non-existent. The last thing is the gate time. The new hours were an upgrade from previous management, 6am-10pm, but the only issue is that offer the elevators are turned off before 10 or the gate doesn't open. I was there at 930 trying to get to my unit and my code did not work. My wife and I have a small business and need to get to our inventory, but when the hours listed don't match, this causes us to lose money. This was never an issue with previous management.

Worse, they only refunded 1 month out of the 6 months of unauthorized fees they stole from me. 2. Aggressive Rate Hikes: While I was out of the country handling a family emergency, they jacked up my rent from $155 to $185. Just two months later, they raised it again to $200. When you pay on time every month, their "reward" is nonstop rate hikes and bogus fees. 3. Passive-Aggressive Customer Service: When I called customer service, the representative, Carla, was evasive and passive-aggressive. She refused to give me a straight answer about the rate increases until I demanded to speak to a supervisor. Her eventual excuse? The first hike was for the bogus insurance, and the second was a mysterious "technology fee" or general rent hike. In other words, total nonsense. 4.
