I have been a renter here since our other lockers were bulldozed down and housing went up in their place in South San Jose. We're talking over a decade and a half now! I have 3 lockers, different sizes and locations - I won't store my stuff anywhere else. The place has gone through some changes with management but the current manager, Sandra, is AWESOME! She's SUPER helpful, always on the ball and really nice, too! Stop in the office and give her a big hello! oh, and rent a locker here - easy in and out, always parking and carts and skids. There is a big turn around in the back and usually some shade if you come in the afternoon (just park the right way! don't block other people's lockers). The place is clean, quiet and secure. I wish the windows opened on the 2nd and 3rd floors for a cross breeze as it does get quite hot in the summer - but in the winter - it's indoors (for the most part, there are only a few bottom floor outside units). The price is always right. I actually live over 50 miles from this and it's worth the drive for the low cost units. I could have 2 units, half the size of my current ones less than 2 miles from me for 3x the cost. Forget that noise! I'll use 2-3 gallons of gas every couple of months to save at least 2 thousand dollars a year - seriously - give them a look! read more

Easy sign-up! The store manager Kat was a great help and even helped us figure out how to maximize our $$ savings with start date/on-going promotion. Used them for 4 months and everything went smoothly! The ONLY thing I'd like to add is a request for garbage cans in the elevator lobbies (Covid-times=wipes/masks, etc.). read more

After calling around many storage places, Brokaw was the cheapest. Jim and Barry were great with customer service. We needed an odd shaped closet (5x15) and they were the few people that carried it, in fact, the one they gave us was their personal storage space they used for contracts so they were nice enough to give it up. Great prices, half off the first month, and if you sign a one year agreement, you get the 13th month for free. Best part? Individually alarmed units, gives us that added piece of mind. This place was recommended by a friend, and I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a storage unit. The people are friendly, they are open every day, they are competatively priced, they have a great security system, there are always carts available, and it's a convenient location near downtown San Jose, and several freeways. Two stories to convince you that this is the right place: I accidentally threw away my storage unit key, and didn't realize it until I went to get something one day. Even though the office had closed half an hour earlier, Barry was still doing paperwork, and happily came to drill out my old lock, and then gave me the new one for free, since I didn't have any cash on me. Sometimes they don't charge your payment until as late as the 8th of the month, but once, when my payment still hadn't been charged by the 13th, I started thinking about it and realized that my debit card that they had on file had expired. I called right away, and Barry was again very friendly and let me read him the new card information over the phone, and then waived the late fee. The one thing that's a bit of a bummer is that the units are not air-conditioned, so my unit on the 3rd floor gets really toasty in the summertime. They've got to keep the prices down somehow, I suppose. I will just make sure to move my things in cooler weather, and be very happy for their services. read more

Well, let me see if we can let you know what kind of place Brokaw Self Storage is, well first it is a place to store all of your junk, and trust me I have the junk to store. We have things like baseball bat to old papers from 20 years ago, but enough about that. I have had a storage unit for many years, since 1998. Brokaw Self Storage has been very reasonable in price and with many different sizes of units to pick from very convenient. The location is easy to get to from Highway 101 or Interstate 880. The facilities are very clean, and trust me when you see somebody on the grounds, they are always cleaning something. The staff here is wonderful and very helpful, any problems or issues you might have they are willing to go out of the way to help you. One person that always is there with a huge smile on her face is Mary, this person has always lit up my day no matter what is going on. She knows what is needed for customer service and knows how to get things done. If you are with another Self Storage place, you might want to look in to this place and see what they can do for you. So, until I get rid of alot of stuff (junk), I foresee myself being with Brokaw Self Storage for sometime to come. read more

We've been with these folks since 2008, when we moved to the South Bay. At the time, we were going by price only. They had the most competitive price, and were very nice on the phone. We weren't too concerned with convenience, as we were moving to Campbell, and they're several miles away. We just needed a place for our stuff (insert George Carlin routine here). We were pleasantly surprised to find that the folks behind the counter were very nice, very professional, and provide great service! Fast forward seven years...we're moving. We had to relocate a bunch more "stuff" so we could stage our house for sale. We ended up with a second locker, at a very reasonable price. So now we have two lockers holding "stuff." Most of which we probably don't need, but hey, it's ours. We're moving to our new place next week, so will also be moving most of that "stuff." Conclusion: if you need a reasonably-priced place to stow your "stuff," these folks are fantastic. read more

I just finished a 25 year tenure with BSS because I moved out of the area. In all the time I was with them not once did I ever worry about my stuff in storage. The facility is clean, secure, and easy to access. The staff has always been attentive and friendly. When there was an issue with billing or CC cards were changed without updating the team, they were always easy to work with. They have all the stuff you need for moving like boxes, tape, and bubble wrap. The carts always worked as did the elevators. I highly recommend this storage facility. read more

Don't store your valuables here! I had the biggest storage unit they offer and went away for a while. My mother paid the $300+ payment for about 10 months. When they went to go pickup my stuff, it was all gone. When law enforcement asked the owner for copies of the surveillance tapes, they were told the tapes get erased after 6 months. I lost everything AND my mom wasted her money. read more
