The ground level 10' x 10' was a lie. It's smaller than that by several inches. Excessive dust, dirt, and roofing granules get inside the storage because the bottom seal is very poor. To lock the unit you have to lift up from the bottom in order to slide the latch, which renders the seal ineffective and creates the pathway for the dirt. read more

I wanted to update my review, having just moved out of this place. I had nothing but good experiences with both Bob and April and only left because I was trying to save a little money and finally had enough room to bring my stuff out of storage. Between everything in my original review, as well as the automatic payment option once they switched to the new parent company, my time with them was nice and smooth. I even had an issue when I was originally having Capital One send them checks monthly before they had automatic payment options, and a couple months my check failed to arrive. Instead of waiting to charge me a late fee and mail me a notice for being past due, April called me both times before I was late, because she noticed it was unusual. That's fantastic service! The only thing they lack here is climate control, but if you don't have anything that's temperature sensitive to store that's really not an issue. I had a plastic bin of candles in storage here for years, and none of them melted even with a number of days hitting triple digits over the last few summers, so you'll probably be fine with most things. Original Review: There really needs to be a way to down vote bad and useless reviews, the idiot who blocked the driveway and had to have a cop stop traffic for her to get out has no business having a bearing on this business's rating. I did share a laugh with the 'angry old man' and the 'old lady' about it, both of whom are nice if you're not an idiot. Clean facilities, well run and maintained, and basically everything one needs in a storage place, as long as you don't mind carrying your stuff up stairs if you get an upstairs unit (no elevators). read more

I am so glad I trusted IN Self Storage for my storage needs.  I lost my job so decided to give up my Los Gatos apartment, put my things in storage, and move to cheaper housing outside of the Bay Area in order to cut down housing expenses while unemployed.  Because I didn't know how long I would be renting the unit for, I rented the unit month-to-month.  From what I hear, most self-storage units take advantage of not having a price-guarantee and will jump up the price regularly every few months.  I chose IN Self Storage because I did not see any complaints about unreasonably expensive (almost like a bait and switch) and frequent price jumps.  In fact, I heard that IN Self Storage usually reviews fees and makes reasonable price adjustments on an annual basis so I shouldn't expect any price changes for at least a year.  I have rented the unit for 6 months now and have not had any price jumps.  I am so glad units are priced fairly and competitively and that the managers do not display the same unscrupulous behavior that other storage facilities do.   Which leads me to my next topic:  Bob and April.  Bob and April are what makes this facility great and the perfect partnership.  April is sweet, kind, and very thoughtful.  She is very welcoming and provides superior customer service.  Bob is a no-nonsense, honest and straightforward military vet.  He is upfront about what to expect (the good, bad, and ugly) and is very clear about how things operate.  He enforces the rules and keeps tenants in line so that you don't have to worry about bad behavior from others (such as people blocking your unit or leaving trash).  And they are both just really good people.  They make me feel happy and safe and I'm very appreciative of them for that.   If you are looking for a clean, affordable, trustworthy facility with honest and reliable service, then IN Self Storage in Milpitas is where you should go.  I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

I rarely bother anyone when using this storage company. My dad and I would just waltz in, shove items in our space, and leave. Unfortunately, my dad tends to be rough with the lock and ended up breaking the key inside the padlock. I was upset as I was hoping to retrieve my inflated bed for a camping trip. We ended up talking to Bob and the way he speaks/jokes made me feel less upset. He reassured us he could cut our old lock when it is convenient for us. I hardly get the privilege to work around my schedule. When I showed up at my lock cutting appointment, I was amazed at how fast Bob did the job. All I can say is, that this is one of the best storage facilities. My family has been here for 5+ years! read more

I've had a storage unit here for about 2 years now but prior to that my parents have had a unit for easily 10+ years and in all that time we've had a really positive experience. All the on-site staff (April, Bob, and Leslie) are great. Just the other day I called April to update my form of payment and after giving her my name, she was able to easily recall my Unit # right off the top of her head-- even I barely have my unit # memorized. Bob is usually patrolling around, making sure everything is in order and offers any assistance. Just make sure you stick to the 5mph speed limit because he'll call you on it. I think Leslie is the weekend person (don't quote me on that) but the few times I've worked with her, she's been great. One slightly negative thing I will be candid about is that this storage site was recently purchased by another company and while they have made many positive changes, I do fear that they may bring price increases more frequently than I would like. I base this on the fact that very shortly after they took over, the price of my unit went up. This is just a guess though. So lets hope I'm wrong about that hunch. Overall a great experience there. Having Bob and April on-site makes me feel more confident and comfortable storing my things there. read more

So I've had a storage here for almost 11 years keeping most of my father's stuff that I put in there when he died and for the most part I have only been there maybe 3 times cuz its just so painful to open for me... Bob and April both knew what I as going threw in addition to diving into drugs... Well now that I'm sober and wanr to go threw all the stuff my dad and I collected over the years I can't because for some reason the lock has changed and they want to pay $50 bucks to cut the lock off for me... Wait I have the key to the lock I put on it why has it changed? Because they cut it off for someone else is why! The lady that works there even told the POLICE that the unit wasn't mine only to find out it IS AND HAS BEEN MINE... Still have not been into the storage yet... These people are crooks and thieves dont get a unit here they will let anybody with the right price into your unit and take what they want... read more

Bob and April are straight shooting and take their jobs seriously. The facility is a little old but had recently upgraded security cameras across the unit. It's well situated being near 237 and 880 and easily accessible. The units are clean and maintained. Prices are reasonable and they don't tend to change exponentially like Public Storage. They are willing to work with you to find out what you need and as long as you follow the rules, you'll get along fine. They may not have units available but I would just check back with them from time to time. I have been there for several years and won't go anywhere else. Talk about bad business ethics!! Even before you become a customer! On my way home from work, I had car trouble & had to pull into the big driveway of this business. Put the car in park & dialed AAA. While I was idling, I noticed there was an old man sitting on a metal fold out chair, facing some old lady & they looked upset. About 5 minutes later the angry old man was up against my window shouting, "EXCUSE MA'AM! Is there something I can help you with!" I rolled down my window with a perplexed look, cell phone on speaker listening to the AAA agent, & told him with a smile, "Hi, I'm sorry but there is something wrong with my gas gauge & I think I'm running out of gas even though it says i have 35 miles to go. & I'm on the phone with AAA trying to get help & I cant back up to the 76 driveway because my car stalls. & there is too much on coming traffic." His reply? " Well that's not my problem! Your gonna have to get out of here! This is private property & your blocking my driveway! You need to leave!" WOW, I was astonished by this jerks reaction. Where is chivalry these days to help a damsel in distress. Instead I got my head bit off. I rolled up my window in his mid sentence which made him more angry & he threatened to call the cops. Then he proceeded to read my license plate to them. When he retreated, his bitter old wife came out with a pointed finger yelling, "YOU NEED TO LEAVE! YOU NEED TO LEAVE! THIS IS PRIVATE PROPERTY!" Calling the cops was the best thing he could have done. Officer Eric Emmanuelle also called AAA personally & got them on the scene in less than 10 mins, gave me the $5 bucks I needed to pay AAA for the gallon of gas, & blocked traffic while i backed up into the 76 gas station. This business treats people badly! In reference to one of the reviews with the person mentioning you being in the Marines doesn't give you the right to speak to civilians in an unprofessional manner. Especially when you are not active duty and we are not military. The business/franchise owner needs to enroll the onsite freeloaders (husband and wife) into an Ethics training course. This is the 21st century and referring to anyone as "You People" is not acceptable. By anyone - regardless of race. In this case the "You People he referenced were educated African Americans. I was there to help my Family move out and witnessed this guy first hand - I actually felt harassed by his behavior, like seriously he has no right to speak down on anyone. He was intentionally trying to irritate us for a reaction. He was being relentless with his taunting behavior. Then he calls the Milpitas police and tries to claim victim. Just because he is miserable doesn't give him the right to speak disrespectfully to anyone. Not going to stoop to his level. Even my granddaughter who is 6 said that she will pray for him because she felt he was drunk. I get it because that's how he came across to me. So message to the Business owner - you really need to rethink who you hire to take care of your properties. He is bad for business. Just know that 1 bad experience is always shared by many and Milpitas is way to small to avoid a bad reputation. read more

The facility looks a little older but is still very decent at least for the stuff one might store. But I highly suggest this storage because of the married couple on sight who sort of run the show over there. They are active and make sure all the rules are followed by everyone which makes me feel secure that others too are kept in line. They walk around the property often which makes me extra secure that my stuff is safe, even though to even get into the complex you need a code on the gate. They are helpful, polite, knowledgeable and very customer service oriented. Often a storage place will be great at the sales pitch but then once a tenant they are not so good to you but this place, the thanks to the couple who run it, they are great even after the sale. I plan to keep my storage items there as long as they are there and if they ever leave well I will feel uneasy that whoever takes over will not be as good as them. read more
