Been with this storage place for almost 2 years. Needed a place to store personal items on short notice, and they were very helpful in showing me different types of storage and giving me recommendations based on my needs. The staff were also helpful in guiding me to tie down my items to my truck to avoid getting pulled over. Did not have any issues during my time regarding the safety of my items and was content with how clean and maintained the location was. The staff was very kind, and it was a wonderful experience. I appreciate how clean and secure the facilities are. The location is very convenient being near 2 different major freeways. I stayed here for 2.5 years and never had any issues. The service has also been very good. James is very responsive and I can appreciate his sense of humor. My only knock is the number of rent increases and why I can't give it 5 stars. Rented a storage unit for ~18 months during COVID after doing a lot of research. During the same period, a friend using Public Storage had his unit broken into and lost a lot of valuable possessions. I had no such worries given the excellent customer service and attention to detail at A-1. Some highlights: * Excellent service when purchasing and accessing the unit. James could teach a Masterclass on customer service. Examples: - in the initial orientation, James explained a common mistake that customers new to tubular locks sometimes make, which makes them *think* they have locked the unit successfully when they actually have not. - when some other movers started smoking just outside the grounds, management immediately reminded them this is a fully non-smoking facility and politely explained where smoking is legally permitted. - during a visit which involved some peak business, management politely asked if they could take back some of the loading carts I had been using to give them to other customers, then delivered the carts themselves. * Logistics: abundance of really nice loading carts. Fast elevators. Excellent interior lighting. Units, interior and exterior floors were spotlessly clean. * Security: units are individually keyed, de-alarmed at entry and re-alarmed at exit from the interior access area. In elevator, access codes only give access to the floor your unit is on. Management is highly attentive -- greeting me and others by name to indicate they knew who I was, which I found very re-assuring from a security perspective. My only complaint is that the interior loading area is a bit small; however, the management mitigates this by trying to make sure large trucks park appropriately. read more

James was wonderful at getting us setup and up to speed with how to use the storage facility. We got a good amount of space at a cheaper price than other local storage places we checked out. The facility is clean, and I love the handy little carts to move my stuff. Also if you get there early in day you can find an awesome food truck across the street. In case you drive over with a car load of stuff and didn't eat breakfast. Back to the storage, this place will be perfect for our moving needs. Since a lot of the reviews here have already covered first impressions and the initial check-in process (spoiler alert: it's 5 stars), I'll make sure to highlight the opposite end - checking out. My gf and I rented a storage unit here for the last 14 months and just recently moved out. To sum up my entire experience...this business is probably one of the most straightforward, honest, no BS establishments we have ever had the pleasure of just simply interacting with, hands down. Throughout our entire lease all the way through moving out, the premises were kept very clean (like immaculate-level clean), rents stayed exactly as it was when we initially signed, and moving out was a breeze - no surprises, no hidden fees. This place is exactly what you would expect, plus more, from a self storage business. Here's the thing, if you've never rented a storage unit before or have only just begun doing the research (like us 1.5 years ago), that previous statement may seem anything but special... I don't want to drop names of other businesses, so instead I'll say this: For the skeptics or those that want to truly appreciate what a gem this place is, I would strongly encourage anyone currently shopping around to literally look up all self storage businesses within a 5 mile radius of this place and dedicate an entire day to hitting every one of them in order to determine the best one factoring in costs, cleanliness, security, service, etc. Because that's exactly what we did, and oh man this place takes the lead by far! Pro-tip: Schedule the A-1 visit last to save yourself an extra car trip back because you'll end up signing with them once you come to the same conclusion I did. To avoid rambling more than I already have, I will end with this: We thought we were adamant about getting a climate controlled unit, but it turns out A-1's non-climate controlled units are BETTER than all the other competitors' actual climate controlled units. This place is fantastic! There is another self storage location near my home, but I ultimately chose to go with A-1 because their prices were more affordable. I'm SO glad that I did! The facilities look great, and even the units on the third floor are conveniently located. The layout is very well thought out and simple to remember. The check-in process and intro are very comprehensive and straightforward. Like many here, I have to give props to James for an amazing job! He answered all of my questions, some before I even thought to ask them. He was also training a new employee at the time, and I know that she will be just as great! Needed this place in a hurry. Super available, clean and safe! The guys at the desk were amazing, helpful and accommodating. I had to get a bigger unit once I was there with the moving truck and was able to upgrade without a problem. It's all key pad to get in and out, including the elevators so you will not find anyone sleeping in the facilities. There are numerous cameras as well. The units inside have good cool airflow and lots of lighting in the hallways. I got my first months free with no obligation of additional time. I shopped around and they had the best price with an offer to boot! If I ever need storage again, and I'm still in the area, I will come back. read more

My girlfriend and I are moving to a smaller space and needed a storage so we decided to check this place out. When we arrived we were greeted by James. He was extremely professional and gave us a tour of the facility. He showed several of the units they had and described all the security features in the building. While we were touring the facility James was extremely kind and funny not to mention professional. He explained very thing well and answered all our questions. I was referred to this location by James as a former tenant from a previous storage company he managed. There are a lot of new amenities my previous storage didn't have. Being a newer building it's all code entry. Including the bathroom, so there's no chasing a key. It's kept clean.There are plenty of flatbed carts, 2 sets of 6 near each elevator. Elevators are very large. Halls are wide and very well lit with led lights on motion detectors. Very good air circulation and music. She did all of the leg work for me - super awesome considering how stressed I was over my move. The interaction at the unit was just as pleasant.
