Based on my experience, I would not recommend storing here since I didn't feel secure. However, they have great prices if you're on a budget. (The good) - prices. They have some of the best deals for units. There's a truck that can be used once and a box discount. The building is also new and generally clean but could be better. (The bad) - questionable people inside. I went in and there was a guy who smelled homeless like he hadn't showered & was putting plants (???) in his unit. I was confused why he was going to put plants in his unit... is that even allowed? - employee asked how long I would be gone or need my storage for and that made me feel suspicious and not safe. - this business is in an industrial area & down the road. it is an okay area during the day. there are plenty of other storage unit businesses around, so I would say your items should be safe. read more

We found a super clean facility and the staff, Michael and Allyson were very friendly and helpful. I've used their storage facility many years ago in San Leandro. Michael was the one who helped me and it was exceptional. I was extremely satisfied since he went out of his way to help me with my needs. Fast forward, here I am again needing to use their storage. Michael, once again, provided a superb service. They even let me use their van (which was very clean and well-kept) to move our stuff from Mountain View to SJ. The monthly fee was very reasonable but more importantly I feel like my stuff is very secured since I know for a fact that they go beyond what's asked of them. What I love most about this place is how well-maintained and secure it is. Very clean facilities, well kept and maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful and went above and beyond. I have rented from a few different storage companies in the past and this place is far above the others. The security is great, they ask for your code going into the gate and building. The building itself made of concrete and metal and the locks are an internal style that can't be cut if someone managed to sneak into the building. Paying over 200%: BEWARE OF THE EXPLOITATION If you plan on renting it long term. It's absolutely insane that, though the website boasts cost much much less than what I've been paying, seems that after the second year they just kept jacking up the rent - seemingly every few months. While they advertise a hallway 5"x5" at $39 a month normal price (see image), I'm paying $90 for a 5"x4" --- that's right, more than 200%. One might think that a company would be about appreciating long term residents, but not SafKeep, instead, over the last couple years they've jacked up the rent several times. I guess this is what you can expect from them. I'll say, I'm pretty okay with businesses charging as they wish, it's hurtful when you know you're explicitly being exploited. They must have realized a long time ago that, for some of us, it's more difficult to move than to just keep paying jacked up rates.. but this seems to be the type of company SafKeep is. The facility is clean, new, and the staff are nice ,but I definitely have some issues that need to be voiced. I was going to recommend to my friend ,but after being here a couple months I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. THERE ARE ALWAYS QUESTIONABLE PEOPLE INSIDE, and to be frank the other customers look like they're on drugs. They don't seem to screen people very well before giving them an account.. THIS PLACE IS NOT SECURE. I've seen several people tailgate others into the facility who obviously do not have keys or a code because they cannot get in or out without following someone. The staff never does anything. Even when a lady who was obviously on drugs stood in front of the door that goes into the storage units yelling "OPEN SESAME" and screaming while riding her skateboard around the cars, they still did nothing. They also say they have alarms on the units ,but I hear the alarms go off all the time and the staff doesn't do anything. The area around the facility has AWFUL ROADS and nails in random places which has caused me to have a flat tire twice. Also, they don't have trash cans, anywhere. read more

I called your location three times today asking about the $22 administrative fee and the first guy (Carson) just goes silent (assuming he put me on hold without telling and never came back. I called again (different gentleman but didn't get his name), and did the same thing. Assuming this was their intent, this is a very poor dodging strategy and very poor customer service. To be honest our first experience here was pretty good. We got our storage unit in August of 2020 when most of California was on fire. We were being proactive since we were close to the fires to move some of our belongings into the unit temporarily until everything was ok. In December we decided we will keep the unit but maybe downgrade to a smaller unit since we brought some of our things home. Here is why I took off a few stars. On Saturday January 2nd we called the number to look into the prices of the smaller units and was told on the phone that they will be open on Sunday from 10 to 4 so we can look at the smaller units to decide before making the change. No appointment necessary there will be someone there from 10am to 4 pm to take us and show us. We live in gilroy (a good 30 miles away) and on Sunday morning we show up at about 11:30 for the front doors to be locked and no one available to show us the units. Upon calling the 669 number we were told there isn't anyone to show us the units and that we would have to tell them what unit we wanted and it will be unlocked for us to move our things and thats all they can do right now because of the pandemic. I get that there is a pandemic happening but thats why we called ahead of time to get all the information before driving the 30 some miles to get there. Then we were told that the person we spoke to the day before was a third party and they don't have the right information. Ok so why are you using them? Why don't they have the right information. I reserved a unit a few days ago online as this place seemed to have the best deal for the size I needed. Within a few minutes, I received a call from their office confirming my reservation and answering any questions I may have. The woman on the phone (I'm sorry I don't remember your name) was very personable and polite. We confirmed my move in date for a few days from then. But the next day things started to get a bit weird. The next morning, I get a voicemail from another employee, Michael, wanting to reconfirm my reservation (?) and to remind me how important customer service is to them etc. Not sure why I have to reconfirm twice, is the office staff not communicating with each other? I figured I could just speak to them the following day when I went in for "move in day." But they also called me again later that day too. Why? Why do you need to be calling me so much? I had already confirmed my reservation and move in day with the first phone call. It was a bit off putting if I'm being honest. I don't like being hounded for my business. But whatever. I planned to go in and speak to them the following day, but when the day came, before I could go in, I got another call! This time, Chelsea left a voicemail asking if and when I was still coming in. What the heck? Why do I need 4 calls in two days from this place? It came across as super desperate and pushy. I was not amused, but I went to the facility anyways. This place is in a super industrial area. Off the beaten path even through one side faces 880, the entrance is off a dusty and bumpy road. There were other customers unloading just inside the gate, but it seemed very sketchy to me and my instincts told me not to get out of the car. I'm a small framed female who also happens to be currently 37 weeks pregnant. I don't think I would never be comfortable being here by myself. I just left. When I got home I promptly canceled my reservation online. I'm sure everyone is very nice there and I'm sure the facility is nice, as I know it's brand new. But between the excessive phone calls, the location, and the uneasy feeling I got being there, I cannot say I recommend the place based on my limited experience. read more

Not to mention everything was old and not taken care of. Total opposite at Saf Keep Storage. Right when I walked through the office door I was greeted by Devin. He was so professional and nice. Right away offered to show me the units I asked about. He was very helpful in making my decision and patient with all the questions I had. What a great storage facility! It's very secure. It's exceptionally clean and all of the staff are very friendly and helpful. I know my stuff is in good hands. As a tip you will need to buy your lock from them so don't go out and buy your own padlock. I'm sure you can buy their type of lock other places but I didn't know ahead of time so ended up with the lock they had there. Maybe that's standard now days in the storage biz it just took me a little by surprise. Overall a phenomenal facility and staff. Highly recommended!! read more

I love this place and the customer service. I moved in arond the end of April. The facility is brand new and very clean. Mike, the manager, Alyssa, the assistant manager and Alex the grounds keeper are very courteous and helpful. The manager and the assistant manager called me a few times to follow up on my reservation and were extremely flexible. Moving in was awesome too! Alex showed me arond the facility and all of them were eager to answer my questions and you can get 20% off of supplies everyday. The cleanliness, customer service and transparency of the staff at this facility was extremely superb and this is really important to me. I would highly recommend this storage facility to anyone. I absolutely love this place and I highly recommend it to everyone looking for a storage unit. Clean, professional, friendly staff, awesome manager! I had an emergency move to do and my entire month was horrible and I couldn't seem to catch a break. I needed a storage quick so I googled to find the least expensive storage place in the arena that was still clean and safe. Saf storage came up on the top of the list. I reserved a unit and they have a three month deal of half price and then even after it goes to full price is cheaper than any other 10x10 I have ever had in San Jose! I got there and was frazzled from hurrying and packing and moving all in one day. The staff that helped me, Devin at the front desk, and Alan who gave me the tour, were so helpful and kind as well as professional which was such a relief and they literally made my day. It was the first time in over a month somebody was so helpful and friendly to me and it was the best experience I've ever had with any company I've ever rented from. I posted a four star review previously and the only reason I had given only four stars was because I wasn't informed about the free van up to 20 miles before I had rented a uhaul. Then I went in one day and the manager, Micheal, new who I was due to reading my review. He was so nice and helpful and apologized for not being informed about the van or the help they offer to unload your things when u move in to the unit. Not only did he seem very concerned and sincere, when I asked if I could rent the van the next day, he accommodated me with the offer that they have only for the move in day. Once again, Saf Storage staff made my day!!! So far all of the staff I've dealt with in person or on the phone have completely satisfied my concerns and have answered all my questions and made sure that I am happy before I leave. Update on my review preciously prior to the Covid-19. I like this storage and the staff are always helpful and friendly as well as professional, and while they are offering a 25% discount for 3 months to all customers due to the pandemic, they DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY APPLY IT to your account AND they have cut hours of access, which I can understand, HOWEVER, when I signed the lease agreement I signed it saying it was accessible unil 7 pm and open on Sundays as well..now its only accessible til 5:30pm and closed on Sunday..when I asked if there was a prorated amount due to the inconvenience, I was told "well, that would be up to the government not Saf Keep Storage", when in fact it IS up to the company NOT the government, so basically I was told "Haha, Hell no you dont get a discount for that!" A bit disappointing when a lot of other storage have 24 hour access and are willing to prorate..moral of the story here, "when the going gets tuff, Saf Keep wont budge to help the jobless even tho we aren't getting what we paid or signed up for". God forbid a business suffer a setback just because their customers are..Time to consider other storage options for this girl... Thx Saf Keep. read more
