They go so far as to offer a vegan pizza (limited availability) the customer care person said because it's popular it's not always in stock. That's the first issue... if it's popular you make sure it's available. Oh but wait.... They don't offer a vegan cheese option like some of the competitors serving UCSB. The positives for this location are there is plenty of parking in the lot and ample seating in the dining room. This is a walk in, order at the counter, and find your seat kind of place. Easy breezy. They have an average looking salad bar, but we did not order. They also have some beers on tap but we did not order, so I am not sure of the variety. The negatives about the space is for kids there are only about 4 or 5 really dated video games and for adults only one small TV. I found it odd that the NFL playoff game was not on, but they were showing UFC prelims. There is nothing great to say about the food. The pizza honestly tasted like a high quality frozen pizza. We opted for the thin crust so I am not sure if we would have had a better opinion if we ordered thick crust. We also ordered the garlic cheese bread which is made on their thick crust. This was average but it is really hard to disappoint me with bread and cheese. We would not return and probably would have been just as happy getting something out of the Target freezer section (same parking lot). read more

This pizza place is really really good! In our group we got two pizzas, two orders of wings, and a garlic cheese bread. The crust was so good, we got thin crust and we were impressed! The wings had good flavor (both the Hot and Mango Habanero) and a good kick of heat which we were happy about. The interior is cute, there is information up by the entrance about how it used to be a bank. Overall a really good experience and great pizza and wings! read more

Not sure why this place has so low stars, but my second experience here were excellent!!! I have ordered 2 top pizzas with thin and thick crust, mushroom with bell peppers (the yammiest) and thin chorizo w onions. OMG, even I am not really big pizza person, but they made me addicted!! I have had my order ruined for the fourth time by their AI system and now when you as for a representative it goes to some outsourced call center. The service in the pizza parlor is great with great local people. They have apologized for the system and recommended we as for a representative. The pizza and wings were great. Beer was cold, but mugs were warm. It had been years since we had visited and I don't think they have upgraded or maintained the interior since our last visit. No changing tables in the restrooms for infants (and a family restuarant). One family changing baby on bathroom counter and one on the seat of a booth. We were in town for a baseball tournament. We had 2 dogs with us. We Called ahead of time to ask if they had a patio because we had a large group of people and we had dogs. Rusty's is not better than Costco pizza and definitely not cheaper either. The dough was a flop for me and the pizza sauce wasn't zesty but a simple tomato sauce. Seems this is a go-to for many but I think it's because it's the nearest for lunch in the area. I say try it out, maybe you aren't as picky as me when it comes to pizza. "fresh bell peppers" were burnt to unrecognizable black strips. Called Rusty's hotline, and was told to "send a picture". They were nice enough to send a "replacement" Pizza and cheesy bread... but what arrived was ANOTHER overly baked pizza and cheesy bread.
