For my entree, I ordered the Costolette d'Angello alla Griglia, the grilled lamb chops served with vegetables and mashed potatoes. The lamb was okay, but it arrived more warm than hot and the accompanying mashed potatoes were a disappointment. They arrived noticeably cold in the center, giving the impression that they had been reheated rather than freshly prepared. Unfortunately, those temperature inconsistencies distracted from the dish and even made me question whether everything had been plated and served at its best. The lamb chops were okay overall, but the execution left something to be desired. I also tried the Linguine con Vongole (clam pasta). The flavors were fine and the dish was enjoyable enough, but diners should be aware that there were some broken shell fragments and bits of sand mixed in with the clams. While that can occasionally happen with shellfish dishes, it was noticeable enough that I found myself eating a little more cautiously than I would have liked. One aspect of the restaurant that stood out was the atmosphere. The environment has a distinctive character and personality that makes it feel different from many of the other dining options in SB. It certainly adds to the overall experience. The service was somewhat slow during my visit, though the staff remained friendly and courteous throughout the evening. Overall, this place offered an interesting atmosphere and friendly service, but the food execution felt inconsistent. Between the warm lamb, cold mashed potatoes, and shell fragments in the linguine, the meal didn't quite meet expectations. There's potential here, but a little more attention to detail in the kitchen would go a long way.

It was very hot inside, no servers checked on us for 45+ mins, no fans, no windows could open, and and we ran out of water in 5 mins then ignored by staff. We were so hot and thirsty, and 5+ staff walked by and ignored us asking for help. So, I got up, collected the two small water pitchers left for 15 people, and tried to get the attention of staff. We finally got the pitchers refilled, but our drinks that we ordered still hadn't arrived, and our food order had not been taken. Finally, after being there for over an hour and a half, we get our food order taken, but no drinks were delivered yet. When drinks began coming out, only 1/2 the table received anything. Now, we are hot, thirsty, hungry, tired of being ignored, and watching our friends have nothing to drink. Food took forever to hit the table, and of course those that ordered the most simple food so it would come out fast (salads) didn't received their food or drinks until after the rest of the table had finished eating. Our friends across from us didn't receive their cocktails until after the food came out. $150+ / couple and we paid it so we could leave. Yes, the restaurant was busy-- they over booked at least 6 large parties that night, including a wedding and bocce (and that just in the back). Clearly they need better systems in place before they book multiple parties in the future. Our experience is enough for me to never return. Oh did I mention the food is NOT good-- it's mid at best. All the pasta was overcooked, the flavors dull, and it was also somehow under-salted. With its lore, I definitely was expecting more from this spot. So sad.

We actually wanted to come back again the following night, but decided to save it for another special celebration when we visit Santa Barbara again. One of the sweetest touches was that they gave us a postcard with a handwritten message- it was such a thoughtful little detail that made the experience feel even more special. I am writing this review on behalf of my wife and I. our son was in cottage hospital for a week and we needed an inexpensive but totally killer place with great food and UH HUH....I LOVE ITALIAN And I did not want to spend $50-$100 each time we went out. We ran into a place called PRESTO PASTA purely by accident when we had to go to Ralphs market and there was this little Italian place, so we gave it a try, and again, and again...!!! THIS PLACE IS IN THE RALPHS MARKET shopping center. It was love at first bite. We ordered pizza's, meatball sandwich, fresh tomato and basil and mozzarella salad plate, and we had this over and over again. OH MAN....everything was totally awesome and I would go back over and over again. So, during our week stay, we ate there 3 times and it would have been the entire week, but we did not run into the place until our last few days in SB, This place is a must and so awesome on the prices that its affordable to eat there all the time and great food....GREAT FOOD and GREAT PRICES that wont kill your pocket book. The owner was there, and if your lucky to talk with him (not really, he was easily approachable), he will surely give you some pointers on whats the best. The meatball sandwich was awesome and I ate the who thing myself before I could give any to my wife so we ordered another. The pizza is REAL AUTHENTIC Italian......very very good and the MARGARITA PIZZA is my recommendation----the crust is worth it alone....wow.... The mozzarella is very very fresh and you cant stop eating., Unfortunately, one of the times we ate there, they ran out of the fresh mozzarella, but that was ok, there was plenty of other choices. NO, the owner did not tell me to write this review, we did it so the world can have a better place in life by eating here.....i have been to SB many times and wish I knew about it before. It made our eating experience and the prices a memorable one. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The place was very clean and the staff, very very friendly and professional. By far the best pasta place at a very reasonable price. If you order the combo, you get to choose between spaghetti & meatball marinara, chicken fettuccine alfredo, raviolli with cheese, and there's a fourth option but I forgot what it is. The serving size of each plate is also very filling and if there's meat, there's a good amount of it. You also get a giant piece of toast, soup/salad, and an unlimited refill fountain drink, all for the affordable price of $11. I always order the combo and it's really rare to see a restaurant offer good food, good portion sizes, and at a very reasonable price. read more

I popped into Presto Pasta in Santa Barbara after about 17 years, and wow, it's still a great spot for tasty pasta! The quick-serve style and fast service in a cozy, welcoming setting make it just as nice as I remembered. The chicken parm was awesome: crispy, cheesy, and perfectly sauced with a side of penne. The freestyle soda machine was a fun touch, especially with all those Dr Pepper varieties on tap. If you're after reliable Italian without the fuss, definitely check it out! read more

Delivery via GrubHub was quick and the food came hot and in best shape. And as most of the Italian meals, the sauce was nostalgic and the meats are tender and fabulous. Got $$ off also. I haven't been to presto pasta since I was younger. I have got to say that they are what made me love pasta growing up. Who doesn't? I got the fettucine alfredo and my friend got the sampler. It was honestly perfect. We even sat in those seats with the curtains! super private and nice. I got full but not too full. Will be back soon read more

Can a top-notch restaurant, still open, still match how we perceived them that long ago? Yup. FOOD & DRINK - A large list of Italian favorites, many of them with the chef's spin on them. Everyone at the table in our party of five enjoyed what they had. The cocktails were also good. The wine list was short, but I could find what we wanted to have from it. SERVICE: Our waiter was friendly, funny, read the table well, and always showed up just when we wanted him. Dinner was served in a timely fashion -- almost too timely, as we'd ordered cocktails first, and were still working on them by the time entrees arrive, alongside the bottle of wine we'd ordered. AMBIANCE: The interior is upscale, of a slightly older vintage, but quite "white tablecloth" nice. NET-NET: OeL is a pricey pick, but a very nice upscale dinner. Everything went smoothly. I plan on visiting again in another 15 years.

Recently, some work, friends of mine took me here for lunch, and I was kind of blown away at first of all how I've never heard of this place and second of all how good it was. I was also blown away to find out how many people I know have worked here, which sounds like at least a half a dozen, so not only is the food good but they seem to be open to giving people a chance at their first job. Love the patio too, it's got a really neat chill vibe The people are cool, the pizza is fantastic, the breadsticks are amazing... What's there to know? Just get your ass down here and order some food.

The manager and server spent at least 30 minutes trying to process a refund but said that our table "wasn't in their system". Mind you, we tipped 20% on this over charge, & assuming the server was also tipped from the table that was added to our bill, she made an excess on top off of her mistake. The manager assured me that they processed a refund and the pending charge would be corrected. Sure enough, the pending charge is not corrected, and we've still yet to be refunded. Today, (8/6) I called to speak with the manager and I was told that "I should call back late next week because they're super busy this weekend" So in short, the service was terrible, the wait was long, and we were overcharged without a refund

Two weekends ago, we hosted a birthday party for my seven year old. We wanted to have sandwiches for these adults and these were an absolute hit. Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo because people ate it too fast to get a good one :) We ordered the turkey sub. The servings were so generously cut. Everything was so fresh and delicious from the lettuce to the bread. One mom came up to me and asked where the sandwich was from because she also said it was the best one she's ever had in town. We went to a birthday party a few weeks before where they also had a party sub and it was amazing as well. I heard several people complimenting that host as well. Thank you Valentino's for not just your delicious sandwiches but your friendly service both in person and on the phone (ordered via phone a few days before), your timeliness, and awesome staff! The subs are served on a large piece of wood which they ask you to bring back when finished. I brought it back right after the party because there were no leftovers LOL. They were so nice and friendly even then. Valentino's is the best! Can't wait to try more and order for other parties!
