Clean and spacious during CV19. Ordered the signature pork, fish and Beef BBQ tacos. Pork was very good and fish is good. I don't recommend the BBQ as the ingredients didnt seem to mesh - the beef is OK but could have a better sauce and the slaw was good but didnt really cut it as a taco. The food was just ok..I ordered shrimp taco and fish taco. The sauce they put on both reminded me of chili it was not horrible but uhhhhh.I may not order this next time. First time trying the place out with some friends, all I really wanted was their brisket taco; it wasn't ready at 1100an when they opened, WTF. The rest if the $2-3 tacos were okay, but I'd rather hit up a Filaberto's for some shredded beef tacos. The watermelon and mango margarita was good and the chips and queso were just above average. First time eating tacos here today. Ordered several different tacos. Quality was good but the portions (tacos) are pretty small. Bang for the buck isn't very good. The food is delicious with vibrant flavors and a beach vibe inside. I definitely love all the different combination of tacos but my favorite is the brisket taco. The meat is so tender and flavorful. This is a great new restaurant for us! Our son introduced us to this location and we loved the chips and dips, the tacos were amazing and the relaxed atmosphere was fantastic! Nice restaurant, the tacos are average. My pork was warm at best. Not sure where the green chill was I didn't see any. The jalapeño sausage was a link they cut in half and grill. Ok flavor but not what I expected for a Mexican restaurant. I'll give them another try someday. Also as I sat at the counter waiting I watched the young lady grill shrimp then she put a large amount of pork on the same grill l, same place as the shrimp. She didn't clean the grill first. We went on opening day, the staff was friendly and calm, despite the rush. They have many different options for tacos, so there should be something for everyone. From the ones we tried, we liked some and thought others were Ho-hum but nothing knocked our shoes off. I really want to like this place but it just disappoints time after time. My biggest complaint is that it is ALWAYS warm in the restaurant. I have asked multiple times for them to turn the air down and it never happens. The tacos are mediocre at best. The tortillas are not warmed or cooked in any way and fall apart/tear with every taco. I have tried every taco on the menu in the 10 times I have been here and there is not one that I would go back for. I have returned because my kids like this place but I am putting my foot down and we will not be going back. The final straw was tonight when I used the green salsa and it was horribly rancid. I had to spit it out it was so bad. Went to get a different salsa bottle and they were all the same way. It was pretty bad. read more

Tacos that usually come with double tortillas had only one, one fish taco was so juicy/soggy it overflowed making the raja taco taste fishy (and inedible to our vegan guest) and ingredient adjustments to three tacos were wrong. Classic margarita: very tasty! Especially if you make to happy hour and it's only $3 (normally $5)! Chips and queso: tasty queso with a little spice. Picadillo taco: good flavor but the meat was a little dry. Fish taco: underwhelming all around. They hardly put any toppings, fish was very small and over cooked. Wouldn't order again. Rusty taco: great flavor, meat was moist and pineapple added good balance to meat. Fried chicken taco: husband said this was his favorite. Chicken taco: chicken had good flavor but was a little dry. We ordered 3 different tacos. My guest loved the picadillo tacos unfortunately without enough lime juice. I had grilled shrimp and grilled cauliflower tacos. The shrimp were cooked perfectly but unless you wiped off the excess sauce you would have never know they were there. The veg taco was ICE cold. I asked for limes for tacos but was informed they didn't have limes anymore. Hmmm??? We just got two beers with two limes each. Nothing memorable about the food. Tacos are made to order. I had the carne asada tacos. they have a variety of salsas in their mini fridge for you to help yourself, thank God for that because the taco was so incredibly dry. I was not impressed. Pork taco was just OK and the shrimp taco was bland and had big chunks of hard purple cabbage yuck. Not much flavor and definitely not enough Pork or shrimp. Participated in a free preview night and liked it so much I came back and paid full price just a couple days later. Food, prices, and atmosphere are all tremendous. Highly recommend the Tres Grande (appetizer with chips, salsa, guac, and queso), the #5 (brisket taco), and--for those craving all-day breakfast--the bacon, egg, and cheese taco. LOVE Rusty Taco! We went on Saturday night and the line is definitely long but it was opening week what else do you expect?! There was only one cashier when we went but the manager was running around helping everyone out, handing out menus, wiping tables, and apologizing for the wait. She even asked us how everything was and removed our tray and trash for us. Thats great service that you don't expect from a fast casual restaurant and that made up for the wait! I loved the picadillo, shrimp, and steak fajita taco! Obviously when you order multiple tacos they're going to get a little cold by the time you eat them all, corn tortillas don't stay hot very long! I tried all 3 salsas and i seriously wanted to take them home with me, so yummy! They also have a great beer selection and margaritas! The interior is awesome and has a great vibe. Love laugh and eat tacos is what its all about! These tacos are obviously not meant to be "real" Mexican food but they are so fun and i really enjoyed them! Stopped by to try them out and we weren't disappointed. I had four different Tacos and my son had the kids Quesadilla. I can only remember the Rusty Taco as far as names go but all the tacos were good. I give them props for having a wide variety of tacos to choose from, lots of different flavors, but the meat did not stand out as being exceptional. I'd definitely go back for more especially because they serve Margaritas and beer, but they can't beat the Carne Asada or the Al Pastor from Backyard Taco. Better flavored proteins would easily earn a 5 Star! read more

With recently opening in Gilbert, we waited a couple of weeks for the lines to die-down before trying Rusty Taco. So far, we have tried 5 of their signature hand made tacos; beef fajita, fried chicken, brisket, grilled shrimp, and grilled fish. They were all flavorful and tasted pretty good, but the brisket taco was my favorite. My wife enjoyed the fried chicken tacos but did say, they could have used more seasoning on them. I also really liked the baja grilled shrimp tacos, the seasoning was perfect and the creamy baja sauce tasted great. We also had their chips, salsa and home-made guacamole which were good but nothing to write home about if you know what I mean. As far as their tacos go, we are a fan and will be back for another round... I would rate Rusty Taco as 3.5 starts, but will round up to 4 STARS based solely on their street tacos! read more

I had issues getting one of my orders delivered so they remade it fresh, refunded my delivery fee, and gave me some free vouchers for my next visit. This place was great. The shrimp taco had a spicy zing to it. The steak tacos were good and the meat was nice and tender. The ground beef tacos were a little dry so that was the only thing I'd say weren't up to par. The Mexican street corn was good too. The prices were reasonable. read more

I was craving sweet and tangy. The sweet taco pulled pork was not sweet unfortunately. And the margarita was very syrupy I added water. The guac was great!!! Chips were ok not salted if that's what you want. And I got the grilled shrimp and it had a kind of chipotle sauce, I guess I was thinking sweet sauce but I didn't ask so that is my fault. And the big bummer is the pickled onions were light pink... with no flavor. Backyard taco has very pungent pickled onions so if your like me and you like it that way then go there. I like the decor, service and prices but it didn't hit the spot for me. I would think im very picky.... most ppl prob love this place. It's a cute concept. read more
