The food was well priced and also good. I had two different types of tacos, beef, fajita, and chicken. They also have frozen margaritas here. And they are quite frozen. It was not a slushy. It was more like a very thick concrete mixture. You need a spoon to drink it. They do a good job keeping the place clean. They're definitely not fast on service, but if they're making me fresh food, I don't mind waiting. No Agua Fresca's here if you're looking for that. Salsa are kept in a fridge that is not cold, which makes me a little leery of bacterial growth. OK place. The people that work here are kind however they do take a while to take your order in line and they do take a while to get your order to you. Don't go here if you're in a rush. Overall, I would go back, but I would ask for salsa from the fridge in the back. It was not my favorite margarita for sure. read more

I've been here a couple times over the last year or so, but this time my experience was very bad. Me and my husband went in for dinner and the place was pretty dirty and all of the available tables were filthy. We decided to get a few street tacos we'd gotten in the past just to find out they had maimed their menu and couldn't make them anymore. We tried what the cashier had told us they replaced them with but they were incredibly different and not at all what we wanted. The chicken was also very under cooked and the shells were very soggy. So me and my wife and our kids, we came to this location here in Tempe. We were excited to eat some tacos and see what new things they added to the menu when ordering I did tell the bartender that my daughter was allergic to shellfish. So bartender said OK no problem. Then we ordered some more tacos while eating the tacos. My kids notice one of their tacos. The meat was very chewing stuff. I looked at the meat. The chicken was not fully cooked through. The steak was still raw and on top of that the ground beef had a lot of raw pieces in it, though I was upset did not want to blow up or anything like that. I did announce it to the front where the cooks were cooking but at the same time, we were not happy with this and on top of that, my daughter's taco tasted like shrimp as I specifically explicitly told the bartender that we are in my daughter's allergic to shellfish so whatever is happening in the back of the kitchen this is definitely a food violation as you can get somebody sick with serving raw meat as well mixing the corn tortillas as well flour tortillas on top of that grill. I looked over in the back of the kitchen to see how they were making their corn in flour tortillas just a peek real quick before I left, and I saw them putting all the corn and flour tortillas all over the grill and so this is definitely a huge food violation. The restaurant was clean and had a cool, kind of industrial decor vibe. My food was okay and my son agreed his was okay, too. Prices aren't horrible, not super expensive. Portions were good. I was full with one taco. They're fairly small, but packed with ingredients. It's always difficult for me to really love a non-authentic Mexican restaurant when we have so many good authentic Mexican restaurants. I'd go back if I was in the area. Very friendly and prompt. The food was perfection, as always. I ordered my staple: cheese, bacon, and egg on a flour tortilla. I made the mistake of ordering 2 tacos, forgetting how big they are! The tacos are filled to the brim with toppings, and you absolutely get what you pay for here. Speaking of prices, each taco was $4 and with my drink and tip, the whole meal came out to about $12. I asked about the taco bowls and it was popular since it was 3 tacos in one for a lower overall cost. On our first visit, we ordered chips and salsa, steak fajita taco, chicken fajita taco, baja shrimp taco, fish taco, and BBQ brisket taco. The food came out fairly quick and we chose all three sauces in the refrigerator which were tomatillo, rojo, and habanero. The chips and salsa were not bad and I believe it was free refills. The steak fajita taco was delicious and probably my favorite out of everything we ordered. The chicken fajita was ok since the chicken was dry. The baja shrimp was good, the fish taco didn't taste like fish which was good to me, and the BBQ brisket taco was delicious. All three sauces were good and just depended on how spicy you wanted to go. On our second trip, we tried the BBQ brisket bowl and the steak fajita bowl. It definitely was three tacos in one bowl and was delicious. I was in the area looking for food as the Top Golf down the street had a two-hour wait and I decided to venture here with my large family (13 people total). My sister said this place was good and I am glad I stopped by. Located in a shopping plaza near a variety of restaurants and shops, there is ample parking and Rusty Taco is right at the forefront of it all. There is plenty of seating (both inside and outside). The tacos are reminiscent of street tacos, only with a unique flare as there are so many different types of tacos that you can order. I ordered the Uptown (limited menu item) which is fried chicken with a hot and sweet sauce on it. It was delicious and filling. I also ordered the salsa, guac, and queso dips with the chips (fun fact, the chips are free to refill, just ask). It's the first queso dip that I have had that I actually preferred over the guac. The only reason this is rated higher the quality of the tacos is inconsistent. My family members all ordered different types of tacos and each one was either really good or not so good. read more

We took it back and they gave us a tiny piece of fish in our taco I brought it back and she said they all come like that. TL;DR tasty food, affordable drinks, louder atmosphere but sure to please everyone that loves a good taco. Would recommend! I have eaten at Rusty Taco plenty of times...let's not put a number on it I would probably be ashamed. Suffice it to say, I know my way around RT, Gilbert. You can't go wrong with any of the menu items at Rusty Taco, the Tres Grande is a must if you have a group as it's the perfect appetizer and with free chip refills you can keep snacking through the meal on the queso, quac, and salsa. I love all their tacos, I've had nearly all of them and I like anything with brisket, the texican is a classic, and for something a bit different the fried chicken is delicious, but definitely don't sleep on the shrimp taco, either. They also have some tasty margaritas and the beer is always cold. I think they have a happy hour but it may depend on location. The only real con in my book and the reason I didn't rate it five stars is because ultimately like any fast casual spot there are employees who are more attentive than others so I've had experiences where they got several of tacos in our order wrong or didn't pay close attention to amendments of the typical toppings and send it with everything. That being said, they are always very quick and kind to fix the order and make it right! Rusty taco is not the spot for the most authentic street tacos you've ever had. But they have an upbeat atmosphere and a great mix of unique and more typical taco creations with great seasonal specials and some great alcoholic beverages if that's your thing. Plus they have a patio (at least at the Gilbert location) that is dog friendly! read more

Dan, the Man! Very nice guy and seems to care about the place that he's running. His staff were slacking a little and it shows that some didn't care to be there! The Lady who started making my tacos placed 2 pics of chicken on the shell and left it sitting for 5 min before he, Dan came and finished it off(after he wiped down tables and was cleaning up) ! The employees were not organized nor the most helpful from what I was noticing. Dan was a 1 Man crew. I bet the employees run over him. Poor guy Give this Man a raise and a promotion I won't go on about what I really thought of the 2 employees behind this station because, Dan is the Manager and was doing a fantastic job. I do suggest speaking with the 2 employees who were hanging out when they could've been making orders, as well as, about cleaning up the station and being organized. My boyfriend and I came here a couple weeks ago. We got at least five different tacos off the menu, and we didn't really like any of them. The best out of all of them was the Philly taco. But there was a short black hair in my carne asada taco. The women's bathroom was gross. The customer service was very dry and the staff didn't seem fazed when I told him that there was a hair in my food.
