Great brunch! I love this place. I got the steak & eggs & it was delicious. We got the unlimited mimosas & had a blast. Ambience is cool & classy. but far from upright. Great for a date or for friends. read more

Kareoke, Open Mic, Live bands should I say more? Great outdoor spot in the back, The chicken sandwich is to die for. Very friendly laid back atmosphere. Nice mixed crowd, well mannered and very attentive staff, I am made to feel as if I am part of the rustik family everytime I am there. I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

My boyfriend and I have been on a mission to explore Brooklyn (who said you have to go to Manhattan). We explored the internet and came upon Rustik. The vibe was laid back and comfortable. There was a jazz band playing. There was a signup sheet to sing with the band (my singing is only allowed in the shower). We had a big lunch so we ordered the app sampler and it was good. I notice that they have garden seating. We will comeback when its warmer. It will be nice to seat under the stars and enjoy the show. read more

Rustik Tavern's food is e v e r y t h i n g, if you enjoy soulfood. My only complaint, renting their private room will cost you $625.00, food not include....laughable so just sit at a table with your crew and enjoy. The staff welcomes you with open arms and the hosts and waitstaff are friendly. So be sure to tip well!! read more

I'm going to start off by saying I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the brunch here. It was great when I came with my cousin a few weeks ago. The server was great, food was great, boozy brunch was great. Just awesome. So that's why I decided to come back for my birthday with a party of 10. BIG MISTAKE. It pretty much ruined my celebration. First, I made my reservation on Open Table for a party of 10 at least two weeks in advance. I got a text confirming my reservation on my way to Rustik Tavern and was pumped. We got there at 2pm sharp and were told to wait 15 minutes for table set up. After about 20, the hostess comes over and says "It's just two of you right?" Mind you I was with 4 people, so that was the first read flag for me. About 30-40 minutes later we are brought to the back of the restaurant for an outside table. I just wanted to sit so bad I didn't care where. It was muggy but not R.T's fault we were glad to be sat. We sit, wait for about 20 minutes and then get water. It seemed like they forgot about us for a while but a waitress came and she was super sweet and helpful. She takes our drink and food orders and leaves. She comes back and starts the mimosa, bellini boozy brunch situation. I'm excited again. The food takes about an hour to come. No biggie except 2 people from my ten top were missing food. The waitress explains at that moment that they are out of quiche. Now I'm upset because my friend is foodless while everyone else is eating. When the call to 86 quiche happened why wasn't my friend informed them. I felt bad, not only because it was my birthday and things weren't going right but I bragged about the food and service to my friends, all of whom had never been, only to be extremely disappointed. Every time we tried to speak to someone we were treated as if we were the ones who f***** up. I didn't like the attitudes we received, especially as someone who worked as a waitress and knows how hard customer service could be. I asked my friends to hold back and be nice in tipping. Then the bill came and was still a mess and extra confusion. I will say this though, Vicky is amazing and really saved what was left of the experience for myself and my friends. Also, the birthday dessert was great. TIP: Don't go to Rustik Tavern if you are in a group larger than 5. read more

Delicious food! I went with a friend for brunch and we got 3 dishes to share- a burger, turkey sliders stuffed with bleu cheese, and the chicken and waffles. Everything was great. The fries were on point! Hot, firm on the outside and soft on the inside, very flavorful. We got another order of them and the table next to us said they did the same. The turkey sliders were great, especially stuffed with the cheese. The bleu cheese flavors were in every bite without overpowering the whole slider. It also had grilled onions on the slider, and they might have been a little potent, but i just brushed off a couple and they were fine. I didn't get the bottomless brunch, I only ordered one drink- the screwdriver. Strong enough that I didn't need a second, but it also could have been a little colder. I would totally come back for more, it was a beautiful, brick place with a great vibe and the staff was super nice and had lots of patience despite the crazy Sunday brunch rush. read more

Great spot for brunch. I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was very well seasoned. The only bad thing the waffles were cold. But overall great experience but definitely go early or make reservations. The restaurant is small, limited space so the wait will be very long . My friend and I waited about 40 minutes for a table. Parking is available on the street. read more

Just received our order from here. The nachos had cheese on maybe three of the chips total (as seen in picture). Came her to support a black own business with my friends..... first service was really good. But let's talk about a food. Ordered the chicken and waffles.... bland waffles, eggo waffles has more flavor then these. Chicken no flavor. Ordered a side of hash browns and that was not any better. This is a great place to come for a drink... great ambiance. Food is not their strong suit. read more

Been here on several occasions. Great spot in the area to check out....I would however recommend going for Brunch, the bottomless Mimosas, Bellinis, and Screwdrivers are endless and the staff are attentive and continued to refill the carafe - although it was 90 minutes of unlimited aforementioned drinks it was worth it, actually felt much longer!! I recommend the fried chicken with the Dulce De Leche French Toast - it is soo delicious you don't even require syrup for it. Additionally the shrimp and grits is a delectable meal as well, minus the sauce, at least for my palate. The only minor downside, and very minor, is that when it gets crowded it seems as if the food takes much longer to be served. Also, if your having brunch and want to try any item from their dinner menu, you have to wait hours later because the kitchen closes in between. But I guess I can understand since they are transitioning from brunch to dinner ‍... overall, cool spot to visit - great for brunch!! read more

Rustik delivered food to us last night. We are here because we are visiting from NC and our host suggested it. I looked at yelp and saw the Luke warm reviews and didn't think much of it. To my regret, we got the food after waiting forever. The chicken was very dry and it had sauce. The salad was ok- And I do mean just ok. I ordered cheese sticks for my child. They were overcooked, cheese had poured out as they burst opened and they actually sent them that way. The food is not cheap and we felt like we through $60.00 our the window. We will not eat here again... please take reviews seriously. You will be glad you did. read more

I love this spot. I have been going here for more than 2 yrs but fell off. Made reservations for Sunday for myself and my wife's anniversary. Can't wait for the new atmosphere and staff. My favorite server was Daisy..loved her!!! read more

The ambience sets the tone immediately. A loungy, comfy, feeling right from the threshold. You can take your choice of plush sofas, barstool status, table service for two, getting cozy by the fireplace (on breezy nights), or hanging out by the patio enjoying the sun under an umbrella. More decor? Lets include the uncanny, distinctive, Brooklyn appeal of exposed interior brick walls. Classic overtones of monumental history laced throughout the 2nd half of the bar. A place with character, for a date, social gatherings, networking, or just some alone time. As a beer drinker I can appreciate a cold draft from the tap, along with 25 foreign/domestic options after a long day. But truly, Rustik has to be one of my favorite foodie spots. Finger food @ it's best. Its worth the wait to try those tasty crab cakes, finger-lickin fish n chips, & those butcherboy turkey burgers. And if your a fan of seafood, you cant bypass the succulent meaty taste of their mussels simmered in that special broth. My hat goes off to the chef. Rustik, two thumbs up...hands dwn. read more

Absolutely love the vibe of this place. Friendly staff not too quiet or crowded. Bottomless drinks are not watered down and taste great! Keith is the shit!! Great waiter. Genuine and attentive. Dodd was good not great. Lacked seasoning but flavor was there. Try the crab cake. Wooooweee! read more

After the excitement of knowing that Rustik Tavern was booked for an annual ladies brunch weeks ago, an email was received stating that they were unable to accommodate us ladies. There was no explanation as to why we could not be accommodated and that the deposit was left with a bartender since the event coordinator could not be found. The event coordinator could of been professional about it so that an compromise could of been made. Rustik Tavern is very unprofessional and disgusting. They don't ever have to worry about me entering their place of business. read more

Made a reservation for 12:45, walked in at 12:55, to no one sitting at the host stand. We were greeted by no one, but hey- the place is busy, I get it. By the time the host walked over at 1:03- again no greeting- she told us we had lost our reservation because we were over 15 minutes late. No apology or alternative suggestion was made. When we attempted to explain we were here within the window but no one was at the host stand, she shrugged and said our table has been given up. By far the rudest host I've ever encountered and it's a shame- the place looks great, but no way will I ever give them a shot now that I've had this experience. read more

Love the food and brunch drink special at this place but today we waited for over 20 minutes before having to force a server to come greet us. Drinks took forever and it seemed like our server was doubling as a runner and busser. Obvious poor management and other servers ignored us while we clearly sat unattended for over 20 minutes without water or any sort of service. I work in the service industry and know how hard it can be but this was ridiculous. They need to match the service to the high level of their food. read more

Um, I have been trying to think what jacked my stomach up from Sunday night and the only thing that I had was this salmon burger and now I am having "issues". The burger itself was delish and I got two more burgers for my parents which they enjoyed and had no issues so maybe there is something wrong with my body. But this is day three and I'm still suffering from "issues". I just made two trips to el bano and it was within ten minutes. I still have to go to work and don't know how I am going go survive again. I have no appetite so I am hoping whatever is inside of me comes out eventually. I may have to stay away from this place since this was the only thing I had different on Sunday. read more

I don't write many reviews but I'd like to share that my first experience at Rustik Tavern was very nice. Love the exposed brick, the artwork and the music had me groovin' while I ate. Visited this establishment with a great friend and we enjoyed the food. She had the omelette and I had the catfish. Catfish was good and the home fries seasoned well. We shared a peach cobbler dessert. My friend and I had not seen each other in a while so we definitely sat way too long chatting. Instead of flat out asking us to give up the table our host--Keith came over and said "ladies', come with me". He then proceeded to pour a Mimosa and a Bellini and walked it up front to the lounge area. Gave us drinks on the house and wished us a good day. I thought that was very nice of him:) Yeah, I'll dine at Rustik Tavern again. It was a fun experience for me. read more

Rustik Tavern - American Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Needless to say the Grade Pending sort of deterred me but we were hungry and didn't want to keep searching for a place to eat. The atmosphere is nice, they have a nice patio and they play really great oldies. BUT the food is just sad. Took a while to come out and when it did my grits didn't look creamy, they were chunky and appeared to have been reheated in the microwave. The scrambled eggs were crispy and burned. It seemed whoever made the eggs threw in the entire egg to scramble including shell. The waffles were soggy. The turkey bacon tasted burned and like charcoal. This place should stop serving "food" and just become a bar. Avoid eating here at all costs. read more

Really Rustik? Were you just having a bad night or something? Went here for dinner n drinks w/my bf last night. 20 min wait for our first drinks. Yeah. Boooo. Then we were told they ran out of chicken fingers. What?! At 7:30 on a Sat night no more chicken fingers? Ok. We went with the nachos instead for our appetizers but...we got our main course first. Ummm.... and MEDIUM RARE burgers came out WELL DONE. Interesting. Then the nachos came out missing 2 toppings we asked for (olives n chicken) 10 mins AFTER our burgers. Lucky for them the food n drinks were good and i might...just maaaaybe...give them another chance. The place was only half full (or was it half empty...?) so they really need to step it up. No excuse. Get ur kitchen in order and get it together Rustik!! read more

Service is SO bad. We did the unlimited brunch and practically had to beg for more drinks. Waiting is a theme here it seems; we waited so long for drinks/food/our check. food was okay, just not worth the pain of waiting for everything else. So far, so good. Will definitely be back to potentially increase my stars since I just moved in down the block. Decided to check this place out tonight after I got off work around 11. Steady but not too crowded. I got a seat at the bar. The place is a nice cozy bar restaurant with room to sit at the bar, tables, and some comfy looking couches and chairs to lounge on with friends. The staff was super friendly!! Bartender was Meg I believe her name was and she was very sweet and attentive. I ordered a beer and the scampi. Scampi was absolutely delicious but it most definitely needs more shrimp. 4 shrimp on 3 pretty large pieces of toasted bread is a little sparse. But I will definitely be back to try their brunch!! read more

I want to like Rustik. It's on my way home from the train and it always seems like a good idea, but I always end up walking by. I've only been there twice. Once was because my favorite Nail Spot ($10 french manicure with free designs! Hello?!?!) is a block away and I ran into Mis Little and we decided to let our nails dry over a mid-day cocktail. I know this is super girly, but it was ONE time, people. I'm only girly some times, usually I can't afford to be. SO Little and I order cocktails... Mine was a coffee kahlua-thang that I asked the bartender to make special for me that ruled! but i think it was the bartenders first day because the owner was watching her every move and made me kinda nervous. Little ordered a Long Island Iced tea and the owner interrupted the poor bartender to "correct" her technique but then realized she was indeed making it right, which was just a weird interaction to be a part of...The bartender was super nice, but because she was obviously on Parole, her kindness lost it's charm. So to avoid further uncomfortable job training we went into the backyard. It was a really nice day and we had the whole back to our selves for a good hour. We had a really nice time. Our drinks were kinda pricey for happy hour, but I figure it's because it's right in the neighborhood of the Projects and i'm sure they are trying to keep poor people out. Good for business, not good for people like me who don't go out drinking in Manhattan for that very reason. So the other time I went in there was with my friend Jae and there was a band playing and we were excited! We walked in and got some stares (why?, I don't really care) and proceeded to go into the back yard so we could sit. We smoked a cigarette hoping a cocktail waiter would come check us out, since they TOTALLY saw us look around for seating and then go back there, but we finished the whole cigarette with no luck. And then we made the awkward journey to the exit without looking back. Still, as I walk by on my walks home and see their drink specials and their wing nights and think that maybe I didn't really give them a fair shot, but after reading about their food, I'm cool on that whole situation. I think there is room for improvement, so I'll just wait til then....in the meantime I'll just go to Bar 187..... read more

They had a big event so service was so so. Food was overdone - everything was a little too tough or in the oven too long. Wouldn't go out of my way to come back or recommend unless someone else was having a meet up there read more

I think when we came the drinks were half off or only three dollars or something like that. Anyway, the drink specials were cool. Decent atmosphere and nice layout. The food, left much to be desired. The nachos were just alright. The cheese seemed kind of burnt on, the toppings were spare, and the nacho chips themselves seemed of the dollar store variety. Might go back if in the neighborhood for some drinks. Might check out another spot instead. Meh. read more

Last night was my 2nd time. I reserved critique until I could gauge things. The ambiance is "rustic", lounge type decor. It's very sexy. But the food..takes too long to get apps or simple entree. I hope they get their act together,it's a really nice neighborhood spot read more

i came here with my friend last night TUESDAY NIGHT! NOT BUSY as a waitress myself i would never tip less than %25 unless im extremely turned off. and indeed i was completely turned off which is rare!! we sit she cards us i work in a bar! god knows i dont look under 21! i wish i ordered a margarita rocks with salt i got the sweetest margarita of my life! it was simple syrup and lime juice where was my tequila!? from the moment we sat i felt crazy attitude coming from ms meagan i ordered mussels and my friend ordered just a simple side of fries we weren't really hungry so as i sat there and.. forced myself to drink my margarita i'd ask to change it or light up on the sweetness but meagan was never at the bar! my mussels never came! she didn't bother to repeat the order back to me so she never heard it and only brought my friends order. then when i finally flagged her down ask about my mussels 95 % of the mussels on my plate were dead and didn't open i ate like 6 mussels no lie!. i always crave desert but i wanted to run out the door so fast we sat there for two hours waiting on mussels and drinking terrible drinks so soon as the mussels came i got a check i couldn't be ignored anymore. and i damn near had to beg for water. cool decor yes never again in my life. read more

We came to Rustik Tavern for brunch. It was good. I had the chicken and waffles. My waffles were soggy at first, but I asked for new ones and they came back better. The taste however was very doughy. It has a cinnamon flavor, but the doughy taste was overwhelming. It was almost like it was too much egg... it tasted more like French toast, (which I do not like). The chicken was heavenly. It was fried to perfection. DELICIOUS. Flavored perfectly and crispy. Some of the best chicken I have had in a while. The mimosas were ok. The orange juice was bland. However the Bellini (made with peach schnapps) was good. Overall, I would return just wouldn't get the waffles. read more

I'm giving this place 2 stars - one for the salmon burger and one for the French toast. We came on a Sunday, not a long wait, but a very long time for food. We ordered an omelette that was supposed to be peppers, tomatoes, and cheese - but that ended up being cheese, tomatoes and an exceptional amount of water. We also got the salmon burger and French toast that were delicious. We ordered the bottomless mimosas and only drank one. The waiters appeared to be nice, but only stoped by twice - once for the order and the other to pick up the check. Good choice of music playing in the background. Overall, I left satisfied but wouldn't return. read more
