A delicious first meal in anchorage, Alaska. I got off my plane and was immediately taken here by my local friends, and I was extremely happy with their choice. we got loaded nachos as an appetizer, and then I ordered the salmon and dumpling entrée. The loaded nachos were very satisfying and full of delicious meat and sauces. The chips were also very crispy even under all that sauce. I really love my salmon and dumpling dish though because it was the perfect combination of protein and satisfying carbs. this is probably the most elevated salmon and dumpling type dish I've ever had. I also really loved my drink. this was a great first meal.

We went here for a small birthday dinner and couldn't have been more pleased. Our server Carly (hope the spelling is correct) was prompt, attentive, and super friendly. The restaurant has a pleasant aesthetic and a cozy feel. We sat upstairs where it was pretty quiet right around opening time. The food was all delicious and super flavorful. I ordered the blistered shishito peppers and the soup on the special menu. The shishito peppers were seasoned perfectly to bring out their flavor with a hint of spice. I didn't know if I would like the soup, but I am so glad I tried it. It was so savory and creamy with some fresh basil as a functional garnish to the dish. The arugula salad is always a favorite. Peppery arugula mixed with thinly sliced red and green apples, combined with maple pecans and some stilton cheese. The biggest surprise for me was the patty melt on Rye. It was sooooo good. I had the other members of the table try it and before they could finish chewing had said, "wow, that's good!" The other members of the table ordered scallops and pork belly which they shared with each other, stating it was also delicious and prepared very well. The plate the elk loin came on was bare when we sent it back. The New York steak looked great and smelled even better. I will have to go back again soon. Thanks Goat!

Small two story rustic bar with excellent food. Downstairs seating is narrow high long bar tables. Upstairs offers 2-4 person tables in the loft that overlooks the bar below. The music is a little louder for conversation but manageable. Small local tap beer selection that offers some great options. I do not recall hard alcohol options. We enjoyed a small brew Seward IPA from Storey Creek. I was impressed with the multiple servers that were attentive, intuitive and knowledgeable about the menu and beers. The artichoke dip was served with warm freshly baled flatbread. It was rich and cheesy. Our main dishes were half orders of nachos and the clams with sausage. Both were very good. The creamy broth was incredibly flavorful that can be soaked up with the piece of flatbread served with the dish. Highly recommend this dish! For dessert we had creme brulee which was a nice small portion and freshly made but a pretty classic recipe. Bonus offerings of this establishment include: Parking lot. Two disabled parking spaces and an elevator. Non-gender single bathrooms with diaper changing table.

Awwwwe theeee ole Rustic Goat. A newer place that seems like it should have been there forever. This is an easy 4.5 stars. 5 stars cause I can't find a reason to dock a star for anything. They have good modern food choices with Alaskan flair. I had the monthly special burger. It was cooked perfectly with a very good buttery bun. She had the flat iron wedge salad w F'ing delicious roasted Campari tomatoes (her language not mine). We had Drunken Clams & Sausage--get the larger plate for 3-4 people. The sauce had an obvious white wine creaminess. Super delicious. Excellent service, people, food, environment, and beer selections. Go for a drive with your friends to earthquake park and reminisce over the good ole days before that side of town was under water. Then head over to the Goat and toast to the better days and be glad you weren't there like our parents were in '64.

Neat little hipster vibey restaurant in Anchorage. Stopped here for a night before heading down to whittier to grab some food. Wait was about 30 minutes at peak hours. It was definitely worth the wait. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Ordered three dishes...The heat miser, rustic goat nachos and the scallops. Food is slightly on the pricier side, but it is unique and different from the average dish. The heat miser is a little spicy but has alot or flavor and sprinkled with a hefty amount of meat. Scallops were the most expensive and I did feel like they did skimp out on the scallops...there were only about 8 tiny ones in our bowl. Base was a unique lime cocunut sauce and a little tangy. Solid 10/10. Lastly were the rustic goat nachos which were topped with a good amount of cheese, meat, tomatoes, chilies, and caramalized onions with a spicy chipotle creme sauce. Pretty solid 9.5/10!!

Crab dip

The crab dip and pita bread are great! The shrimp scampi was OK to me, it wasn't saucy or creamy as I was expecting but rather "soupy". Probably just their take on it. Love the ambiance and service was great. We did have to wait awhile for a table.

The Rustic Goat in Anchorage, AK is a must-try spot! Terrific service, pretty building, tight parking. We two shared the smaller portion* of Drunken Clams & Sausage** (Manila clams, reindeer sausage, Andouille sausage, fingerling potatoes, Mama Lil's peppers, red pepper flakes, white wine cream sauce) and the smaller portion of Rustic Goat Nachos*** (Cuban pulled pork, candied jalapeños, mozzarella, caramelized onions, tomatoes, cilantro, spicy chipotle crema) and were just the right amount of full after devouring every last bite. Absolutely amazing depth of flavor in both dishes. The Drunken Clams & Sausage was served with a flat-bread--a more traditional bread would've been nice to soak up the delicious white wine cream sauce, but less healthy for us! *Larger portion serves 3-4 people! **GF version available! ***GF!

Special anniversary menu

We had dinner for our anniversary and it was nice. Our menu said Happy Anniversary! The host and waitress told us happy anniversary as well. Great ambience. Service was nice. I liked the food, they were bigger servings than I anticipated. So we didn't leave hungry!

Appetizer: Waygu Poutine- So good and such a good portion size!

Restaurant ambiance is modern and very friendly. The food was fantastic, highly recommend!

Hummingbird cake

The food was absolutely amazing!! I had the lentil salad, drunken clams and the hummingbird cake! From start to finish, it was delicious!!

The beer selection was just as impressive, with plenty of great options that paired perfectly with the pizza. Whether you're a craft beer lover or just looking to enjoy a cold drink with your meal, you won't be disappointed. What really made this visit special was the customer service. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed happy to make sure we had a great experience. It's rare to find service this outstanding these days. The atmosphere was warm, lively, and inviting--perfect for a casual dinner with friends or family. As a bonus, they even have a fun little souvenir corner where you can pick up shirts, hats, stickers, and other keepsakes to remember your visit. This is much more than just a pizza place--it's an experience. Amazing food, fantastic beer, outstanding customer service, and a great environment. I can't wait to come back, and I'll definitely be recommending this place to everyone I know!

I don't think anyone would be disappointed dining here.

This was the best buy of the day, as the salmon fillet appeared to be between two and three ounces of beautifully grilled salmon, with a generous portion of coconut rice. The salad was a garden salad with tomatoes, lettuce, and carrots, nicely dressed in ranch dressing. He also ordered the children's dessert of Mini Mousse, which is a good-sized chocolate mousse that he LOVED! Grandma had a couple of nibbles too! I enjoyed a Broken Tooth raspberry wheat, and it was fabulous as always. Bears Tooth Grill offers consistently delicious food, and when they make a mistake, they happily correct it!

As yet, I have still not sat on one of the counter stools, but they are there! Just like on tv! And I, who has lived here now for almost 14 years feel such pride in our beautiful shiny diner, which in my humble opinion, is better than any I saw on tv, because it's metal. I challenge any movie maker (pfft, like that gonna happen) who might be planning a movie based in Alaska, and needing a 50's style diner, to find anything so beautifully retro, even in the Lower 48, and probably needing very little styling to make it meet their vintage needs. It has booths, it has counter stools, it has a lovely floor, great art on the walls. Anyway, I digress. We've been coming here for years, ever since it was still called City Diner. They have a good, large, wide ranging menu, covering breakfasts lunches and dinners. I've never had anything bad here. Service is great, and you're almost always seated immediately. It's always busy, but never seems chaotic if you catch my drift. I love that if you order a soda, they bring out the soda, as well as a jug full of said soda, so you can have top ups. Not that I drink loads of soda, I just think it's a nice touch. Today I got a BLT, husband got the Lika chicken wrap, I got fries with mine, and he got tots. We both got coffee, in a good old fashioned diner mug. They are always THAT style of mug, you know the one I mean, kinda got a slim waist, unlike myself. Food came out unbelievably quickly, I was gonna give 4 stars, but I just changed it to 5, cos you know what? Yeah, it's not fine dining, or an amazing dining room, linen tablecloths etc, but it is exceptional for what it is. So it's a 5 star diner. My BLT. Can I just say, this is the best BLT I've had in quite a while, and I get them a lot. Bacon was plentiful and the exact right crispiness, lettuce was fresh, not limp, tomato sliced decently thickly, and I'd normally pick it out, as I find it bland, and doesn't really enhance the sandwich for me, but I ate every bit of it. That bacon man, it was so good. So flavorful. The fries too, crisp and hot. He got that chicken wrap based on my recommendation, as I'd had it on my previous visit. He said it was moist and juicy, and he ate it all. The coffee's very good too. I don't drink a lot of coffee, but our server came round offering refills which I didn't have, but not because it didn't taste good. The worst thing I can say about this place is, I find it difficult to choose what I want to eat, as they have some very desirable options. bathrooms are very clean, and echo the 50's diner style, with the same flooring as throughout the dining room, and black and white tiling on the walls. Often some places dining rooms might be clean, but then the bathrooms are not kept clean - almost an afterthought. I'll continue to frequent Sami's diner, it's one of my go-to lunch spots.

We topped off the meal with milkshakes and homemade pie, which were the perfect sweet ending. If you're looking for great comfort food, friendly service, and a cozy diner experience, this is definitely a place worth visiting.

Having spent last summer in London, the attraction at TCT for us was comparing and contrasting Alaska Halibut Fish & Chips with the British fare. I wanted to like the Tent City offering; I really did not. For the price ($28/ea), we got three modest pieces of fish and the equivalent of two servings of chips. Both the fish and the chips were mushy (undercooked), with a heavy batter finish in contrast with the light and crisp British offering. The accompanying tarter sauce was an odd raspberry-and-blackberry concoction that my family and I called a pickle aftertaste. The presentation, for the price and the atmosphere, was a confusing combination of a metal basket lined with wax paper (like a 1950's drive-through), plastic water and soda glasses (like a college cafeteria), and real silverware.
