Went to the RusTeak tonight to celebrate my sons birthday! We made reservations and were seated right away. The atmosphere was nice not crowded and not loud. Our server was sweet and very attentive. We ordered appetizers the pretzel bread and wings which were delicious I recommend you order that if you go! Then we each ordered different meals, I had the chicken gnocchi it was 8/10 my son had the Jelly Belly burger he rated it 8.5/10 and my husband had the catch BLT he rated it at 7/10 he didn't care for the fish being on the sandwich. Drinks were good I had the heart break and it was good one drink had me tipsy lol. I would go back during happy hour for sure for those appetizers and drinks! Rusteak was such a good find! I was looking for a place with a good happy hour and stumbled on this spot. They have happy hour from 4-7 pm with deals such as $8 cocktails and 25% off all appetizers. Food 5/5- The food was phenomenal!!! I had 3 appetizers- the mussels, the shrimp and corn fritters and the big shrimping garlic shrimp. Everything was well prepared and hands down the best apps I've had in a while. Ambiance 5/5- It's definitely more of a rustic feel with both indoor and outdoor seating. It's a great place to go with a group of friends. Service 5/5- From the moment we entered the restaurant our experience was pleasant. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and also attentive. We sat outside and a fly died in one of our drinks (it was fruity) and she noticed it was only partially touched and she took it off the bill which was amazing. Just a heads up this is close to downtown so the parking is tight and mostly only street parking so be prepared for that. This area also gets busy at night so parking will be tight. Overall I will definitely be going back and I would say you should also check it out. read more

A delicious meal!!! So glad we decided to choose this place due to the fact that it's changes to so many different restaurant names over the last 6 years. Anyway, we decided to welcome this new place with open arms and try there magical dining and wow it was delicious. I love the "the favorite" conch fritters, the sauces that came with it were absolutely delicious and succulent. Then the Regina (main entree) was delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection and the most delicious thing on the menu. To end, I had the coquito bread pudding and my partner had the cake and both were delicious but we were just stuffed and could not finish it all. Went to dinner with some friends that were visit from out of town. Very cute place. Great ambience and the specialty drink I tried was delicious. Had the steak with a mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes and it was delicious! The sauce was a perfect touch and very flavorful. Walked to RusTeak in Thornton Park a few days ago. Great experience. The ambiance was homey and casual with warm wood planks on the walls and a nice wine display. I started with the black cherry Old Fashion, it was excellent, nice black cherry taste. Next we shared the Burrata appetizer, nice and creamy and very tasty. My wife had the Harvest salad with sautéed salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the salad was very fresh. I had the Catch BLT sandwich, the catch was swordfish, lucky me! The fish was sautéed perfectly with huge thick slices of bacon, a real winner! We also shared the Brussels sprouts and they were also cooked perfectly with a nice sweet balsamic vinegar flavor. We sat at the bar and had excellent service from Brannen, very knowledgeable and attentive. All in all, just a great experience! We'll be back this weekend! read more

We originally were trying to go to the Stubborn Mule but the wait time was over an hour (and they just opened). I never heard of this place but I saw it out of the corner of my eye and decided to try my luck there. The ambiance of the place was a nice/rustic feel and the decor inside the bathrooms made me laugh lol. Overrall the food was pretty decent. I got the waffle and it was like brown sugar clusters inside so it made an interesting ; crunchy , sugary texture. Definitely a new flavor/taste of waffle for me. I'd been previously to the former College Park location, but I got here mid-afternoon and so got the brunch menu. The Loaded Brunch Potatoes were a huge serving (plenty for five of us to try significant portions), heavy on the chorizo (not too spicy). The Devil Wears Cheddar deviled eggs were delicious, with a significant amount of the cooked yolk left in the white before being loaded up and deep fried. The Short Rib Grilled Cheese was long on short rib, relatively short on grilled cheese, but pretty tasty and well-grilled. Great place to go for brunch after the farmers market at Lake Eola. I highly recommend the Korean chicken and waffles. Well it's not Korean food per se, the combination of spices, chicken and waffles is delightful when paired with a pineapple mimosa. The service was awesome. The food was good but pricey. $15 for a Tofu scramble with no sides and another #15 for a single slice of French toast with breakfast potatoes seemed like too much. Omg the food was AMAZING!! The mussels and the smoked bacon flatbread were my favorite by far! The drinks were really good too. I was amazed at the quality and freshness of the food. It felt like it was cooked to order and fresh off the stove. Our server was really kind and helpful. The restaurant decor was very simple. We tried Rusteak for brunch today and we were not disappointed! We sat outside on the patio to enjoy the weather and live music. Jaden was our server and he was very friendly and accommodating. To start, we shared the breakfast potatoes with cheese and sausage (fyi, it's a large plate!). They were very tasty and filling. We each ordered a sandwich- I got the avocado BLT and my husband got the pastrami on a bagel. We definitely could have shared something as they were big sandwiches which also came with potatoes. Both were also very good. Service was great- the manager came by to ask how we were doing and see if we needed anything and made us feel welcomed. He was also walking around collecting dishes from tables and greeting other guests. I appreciate seeing the manager take pride in their establishment as it really makes a difference. Rustek has a great menu. Lots of variety. Have never had anything there that is not delicious. The edamame's have perfect garlic parmigiana sauce. The mushroom Brie soup is one of my favorites. And the Mahi out of control is always fresh and seasoned to perfection. You can't go wrong. The staff is fantastic. Always friendly and ready to help. There is a large bar that offers happy hour which includes appetizers. My husband says they make a great old fashion. Very pleasant ambiance. Generally a good restaurant. My main complaints are this...the "catch of the day" BLT was discussed (by waitress and our group) as a "non-fishy" fish similar to Mahi-Mahi. I met my husband here on a weeknight after work and was happy to find two bar seats with no problem! This was around roughly 6pm and we were on the tail end of happy hour. I really wanted some wine, but they didn't really have many specials for wine like a lot of the other places do during happy hour. Regardless, I ordered my drink and we ordered an appetizer. We were torn between the tomato app and the pretzels and I'm so happy we chose the pretzels! So so good - we ate them all but the sauces were amazing! As for our entrees, we opted to get one chicken sandwich and one burger and share (which fyi-my husband doesn't share but I'm glad I pressured him into it). Both of our entrees came with a side and honestly if my husband didn't have such an appetite, we easily could've split one and had a side salad each. There were so many options for dressings for the salad so I went with our server recommendation for the citrus vinaigrette - which was FIRE! I would honestly go back for the salad alone - everything was fresh and really just went well together. Overall, it was my first time but will certainly not be my last. The ambiance was good. The server and staff where inattentive. Ceviche had a good flavor and i liked the tostones. However we waited an hour and half for our food and when it came out it was cold. The Brussels sprouts on the pork chop where cold to the touch. They where supposed to be crispy. The steak came cold and it had to be refired. They did compensate us for the meal. This is the second time we've come here for brunch. Both times the food is great. The staff is very friendly and it's a fun environment. The drinks are nice and refreshing. It can be a bit loud at times, but not rowdy, just a large restaurant with a lot of people, that's a good thing. Perfect location downtown, whether you are there for brunch or dinner, you're within walking distance of most everything. I had the crab cake Benedict, wonderful, good chunks of crab and everything just worked great. My wife had the bourbon country biscuit, again, everything was great, only problem is you almost have to take it apart to eat it. The biscuits are so good and flakey, it's hard to keep it together. She ended up deconstructing it with a side of their amazing gravy. Still great. This time she had the basic brunch, eggs bacon, toast and a single waffle. It says it in the name, pretty basic, but very good. I had the special of the day, a fried green tomato BLT, I added a poached egg on top just for fun. Egg cooked perfect, bacon, amazing, fried green tomatoes, flavorful and juicy and crispy. The only issue was the biscuit it was served on, again, great biscuit, but it starts to crumble apart and you just need to go in with a fork and knife after about the third bite. I have no problem with that, but that's my only opinion, the bread option for the sandwich makes it a little difficult. Had a side of cheese grits, wonderful. Loved this restaurant when it was in college park and love it even more now. They have brunch and I'm here for it! The menu is the perfect size and they have something for everyone. I ordered the waffle betty taking a chance. It was EVERYTHING!!! Talk about the perfect waffle! It was perfectly crispy and there is a sugar crust that is not too much but add a crunch element that is divine. The eggs are scrambled and and the bacon is perfectly cooked. The cheese is there to hold everything in but not to be dismissed. And they top everything off with this dreamy glaze that just takes it over the top. This dish is unique and scrumptious. Will absolutely be back for this. My husband has the Slap my face with is an open faced donut sandwich and he really enjoyed that as well. Someone on our party ordered the steak and eggs and the portion was huge, well worth the money. Service was great. We were seated right away sunday around noon. They had live entertainment outside. I was a little bummed that the establishment moved away from my neighborhood and in a less parking-friendly area than what I was accustomed to, but I got over it pretty fast due to the excellent, fresh, nutritious food, and the friendly service. I tried the Keto, Keto, Keto and Fiancé had the Steak Pomme. My Keto bowl had cheese, creamy cauliflower, grilled salmon, asparagus, and a slice of bacon. It was extremely filling (I could only eat half), and I didn't feel like my one hour cardio session at the gym was ruined by a plethora of carbs. Fiancé loved his sirloin steak and mashed potatoes. I substituted the asparagus for broccoli and casserole for mashed potatoes, and I asked for lobster thermidor sauce on the side (thank me later). It was a 9/10. The hit the road Jack burger was yummy! The ketchup tasted homemade, the fries were seasoned (I would have preferred salt and pepper only) but still delish.
