Right in downtown Orlando sits this cute little brunch restaurant. This was my first visit and it did not disappoint at all.. We did a girls brunch and what a beautiful day it was to sit outside to enjoy some great food and fresh air. They have an outside patio to dine on and the inside at the restaurant had plenty of seating. There was a bar with seating and private room in the back for parties. This establishment was very clean and cutely decorated. They have a small board before entering that has their daily specials, and they have a big chalkboard behind the hose stand that also list their daily special specials. We attended Rusteak for brunch. We started with mimosas. Our appetizer was tomato jam jar, which came with naan bread and a cute little glass jar that was layered with ricotta cheese, spinach pesto, and tomatoe jam. I was a little cautious about trying it, but it was amazing flavor. Our brunch meals were phenomenal. Our server was great. She was prompt on taking care of us and continuing to check up on us.. she made sure that we had everything we needed in. Our meals were great. She was kind and attentive to us. I will definitely be having another girls brunch at rusteak! Cheers!

Rusteak is WOW! Located in Thornton Park this tasty gastro restaurant is amazing. There's a few sections to the place. Main area is open area with a bar (generally louder), they have a large private room in the middle and then hidden room in the back is the speakeasy vibe location. Ambiance is cozy and the staff is very nice! Our waitress/bartender, Gigi handled both jobs with ease. She was friendly, knowledgeable and great to chat with - you won't be disappointed if you're lucky to have her. Now to the food. Let's say we'll be back because everything looks amazing and the price point was very good (especially for now!). We started with the wedge salad and mushroom Brie bisque soup. Both were fantastic and each was elevated from what you may have had at other restaurants. I highly recommend both items! The salad had petite size cranberries and the bacon was in med/small chunks with yummy blue cheese We also had the mussels and crab cake. The mussels is a LARGE portion, perfect the mussel lover in you. The crab cake was delicious with great flavor and the crab was very prominent in the cake! Lastly we also got the keto keto dish- which is salmon, asparagus and cheddar and pancetta cauliflower casserole. chef kiss! Fabulous place, go check them out. See you soon GiGi

First time dining at RusTeak in Thornton Park. My friend and I enjoyed our lunch drinks and time to catch up. I enjoyed the Salmon salad and my guest enjoyed her Gent salad. Our server was Kelly and she was awesome. She was conscientious and we didn't feel rushed to give up our table. The vibe in the restaurant was nice with a view out both windows. There is two hour parking on the street to the north of the restaurant and a paid garage next door.

This is one of our Orlando favorites. Has a great ambiance. We enjoy sitting at the bar. Brandon is always welcoming and makes great drinks. My husband really enjoys his old fashion. The menu has a lot to offer and the food is always delicious. On our recent visit I got the Mahi dinner but exchanged the broccolini for asparagus. It was wonderful. Wednesday is 1/2 off wine and this bottle of Pinot Noir was wonderful.

The restaurant has a modern vibe. The crowd is 30-50 and up. We sat at the bar where Brannen took care of us. He was very attentive despite the full bar and concluding happy hour (25% off apps and drinks). We loved all our food except the crab cakes. They taste like freezer. Everything else was 20 out of 10! Like I've literally been craving the sweet potato tots since.

Ambiance at this Russell location is really nice. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Attended a graduation party here and they have a back room. They have great appetizers, the pincho steak and the crab cakes are such a hit. The pasta entrees were really filling and food comes out to order. I recommend the peach sangria. Happy Hour is 50%. Service was pretty good for the large party. Would come back again.

This was honestly the worst meal of my vacation. Getting a reservation was no problem at all. Upon sitting down we were given menus and water right away. Not sure if they were severely understaffed or what but service was terrible all night. My party of 6 all ordered the Rusteak burger and one southern gent salad. My burger came out medium and I specifically asked for rare or blue. The rest of the parties burgers were well done. Two of the burgers had no bacon, mine was missing tomato entirely. How are you a known burger spot if every single burger was errored in a different way. Everyone who ordered the bistro fries were undercooked and sopping with oil. My sweet potato tots did not come out until I asked my server where my side was. Her response was "oh let me go check". The side of bacon to add to the two burgers came out maybe 10-15 minutes after the fact and the burgers were cold by that point. I asked again for my side and she still did not have it. At this point I'm mostly done with my burger and my fries come out soggy and undercooked. The only quality food was the one salad ordered as how badly can one really mess up a salad. It also looked like every other table in our vicinity was waiting on their food to be corrected as well or just waiting. I would not recommend this Rusteak as there are far better options in Orlando to eat.

My husband and daughter surprised me with a birthday lunch today. We originally tried another restaurant, but the food was terrible and the place wasn't clean, so we left and walked over to Rusteak. We'd never been before, but decided to give it a shot. The lunch menu was decent. Honestly, I was still a little turned off from the first restaurant, so I wasn't sure what I wanted. I ended up ordering french fries and the Brussels sprouts with maple and bacon--and wow, those Brussels sprouts were AMAZING. The fries were hot, crispy, and flavorful, and the sweet tea was refreshing. My daughter loved her food, and my husband ordered the crab cakes. I don't think he enjoyed them because he only ate a few bites, I tasted one and wasn't impressed. The atmosphere was nice, clean, and comfortable, which helped reset the mood after our earlier disappointment. Overall, Rusteak was a pleasant surprise. I'd definitely come back again, especially for those Brussels sprouts and fries (a big plus-plus-plus for me!). Probably not for dinner since the menu didn't really grab me, but for lunch or a casual bite, it's a solid choice.

We tried their magical dining menu. For appetizers, I got the ahi tuna and my fiance got Pincho me spicy. They were both pretty good for what it is. The ahi tuna was a generous serving and tasted fresh. The kimchi cabbage slaw was a little salty and not too spicy. The wasabi avocado was tasty and good paired with the tuna. I would say if there was a slight hint of sweetness to the wasabi avocado it would be perfect. The pincho me spicy skewers were amazing! Good medium rare steak and the sauce was really good. I would definitely go back for the skewers. For our main course, I ordered the fresh catch and my fiance got the filet. The fresh catch was not good at all. The "blue crab risotto" was creamy rice. They did not use risotto. I'm Asian I would know risotto from rice lol. The fish was cooked well but the seasoning was pretty basic. My fiance enjoyed the Filet he ordered. He says he doesn't know if it's the sauce or the meat, but he just knows he loves it. For our dessert, I ordered pistachio bread pudding and my fiance ordered espresso tres leches. They were both very good! My bread pudding was a corner piece and I looooved the chewiness of it. The whole thing was flavorful. I loved the crunch added on by the pistachio. I tried the tres leches and it was good as well. It's like a mixture of tiramisu and tres leches. The desserts don't disappoint! Overall, the service was good can't complain. Our server was attentive and nice.

I love Rusteak, I have always loved Rusteak. I used to frequent their College Park location but I guess I haven't written a review for the Thornton location. If you are looking for amazing, American style food, this is the spot. The portions are generous, the prices are fair and the food is fabulous! We ended up there on a random Sunday for brunch, there were ten of us and they graciously allowed us without a reservation. We were going to go to another restaurant (not my decision) but when we were turned away even after being told to be there at opening if we didn't have a reservation, I suggested Rusteak. The group agreed, as they were all stuffing their faces, that the menu, prices and portions were better at Rusteak anyway. I replied "I know, I didn't really want to go to ___ in the first place." Rusteak has always been a place I recommend when people ask for restaurants to take friends or family to. I think it's a great representation of some of the fabulous food Orlando has to offer. At brunch I got the chicken and waffles, they were massive and so tasty! I would have loved some type of syrup sauce to go with them but they were still delicious as is. My fiance got the special, something with lobster and maybe chili oil? I'm not a big fan of lobster (I know, shoot me) but omg it was fantastic! I was seriously jealous of his meal. Time and time again, Rusteak has proven to be a consistent staple in the Orlando food scene. If you haven't been, I highly suggest you check it out!

I have been here a few times, and I do like the food and the atmosphere. This time I ordered a tofu scramble and loaded potatoes. The tofu didn't come out scrambled exactly (lol) but everything was seasoned well. My friend got a burger and said it was the best burger he has ever had due to the bacon jam. This is a good spot for a date night or to grab a meal with friends. It's clean and they have good service.

We went here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and I'm glad we discovered the place! The food, drinks, and service are spectacular! Plus, the ambiance is excellent. I will consider this as one of the top spots to eat/hangout when in Orlando!

Rusteak, being one of the most well-known American food restaurants in downtown, had been on my bookmarks for a while. I had no idea it was a spin-off of Teak Neighborhood Grill. The name seems like a play on the word "rustic," but honestly, I didn't find anything particularly rustic about it. I went there for lunch on a Sunday, and it wasn't too crowded -- just the right amount of people, so it didn't feel too busy or too empty to the point of wanting to head back home. I ordered the Brunch Burger without the bun, paired with a side of greens, and it was delicious. The bacon was cooked to perfection, and the burger, which I asked for medium, was cooked just right. Service was as expected (also just right). :)

I met my husband here on a weeknight after work and was happy to find two bar seats with no problem! This was around roughly 6pm and we were on the tail end of happy hour. I really wanted some wine, but they didn't really have many specials for wine like a lot of the other places do during happy hour. Regardless, I ordered my drink and we ordered an appetizer. We were torn between the tomato app and the pretzels and I'm so happy we chose the pretzels! So so good - we ate them all but the sauces were amazing! As for our entrees, we opted to get one chicken sandwich and one burger and share (which fyi-my husband doesn't share but I'm glad I pressured him into it). Both of our entrees came with a side and honestly if my husband didn't have such an appetite, we easily could've split one and had a side salad each. There were so many options for dressings for the salad so I went with our server recommendation for the citrus vinaigrette - which was FIRE! I would honestly go back for the salad alone - everything was fresh and really just went well together. Overall, it was my first time but will certainly not be my last. Generally a good restaurant. My main complaints are this...the "catch of the day" BLT was discussed (by waitress and our group) as a "non-fishy" fish similar to Mahi-Mahi. It was not, it was terribly fishy. My husband ate it but even he was taken back by the strength of smell and flavor. Last comment is that the signature drinks were quite small. Service was good but food and drinks left much to be desired. read more

The ambiance was good. The server and staff where inattentive. Ceviche had a good flavor and i liked the tostones. However we waited an hour and half for our food and when it came out it was cold. The Brussels sprouts on the pork chop where cold to the touch. They where supposed to be crispy. The steak came cold and it had to be refired. They did compensate us for the meal. The entire experience lacked the attention to detail that we expected when we read the reviews. read more

The shrimp and grits are where it's at! The sauce on the top added a slightly sweet touch. This is a newer location so it doesn't have its own touch yet but it's still roomie inside. I can't wait to check the rest out !! read more

Thoroughly enjoyed brunch at RusTeak Thornton Park! I made reservations online and tried to the size of my party online when my son and his family surprised my daughter for her birthday. Although I wasn't able to do it online, when we arrived we were thankful that we weren't turned away, nor did we have to wait. The staff was very accommodating...they even borrowed a high chair from a sister restaurant to accommodate our grandbee! Our server, Matthew, was fantastic! The food was great (especially the crab cake app and deviled eggs app)! The prices were reasonable and everyone in our party enjoyed their meal choices. Happy to say; we brunch often and will definitely return another time to enjoy the live music which was outside. read more

Rusteak was a great experience with fantastic service. We split two appetizers (the soft pretzels and The Favorite seafood fritters) and a pastrami sandwich with Bistro (rosemary) fries. Everything was fresh and flavorful. We even managed to make it in time for 25% off apps so we got quite a bit of food for a great price. RusTeak is at a great downtown location with optimal people watching, but be sure plan for parking. We paid nearly as much to park as we did for an individual meal. read more

Our service was pretty good. However, food was meh. The menu leaves much to be desired. I chose their Keto Keto Keto which is salmon, asparagus, and cauliflower. I subbed their sides for broccolini and mashed potatoes. Broccolini was cooked well and the mashed was pretty good. Not too stiff. However, as you can see in the pic, this was the DRYEST salmon I've ever had and it lacked flavor. Looks nothing like the pictures posted on here by them. The bread pudding, however, was pretty good. Probably the best thing on the menu. Drinks were fair. I had their Riesling which was good, not too sweet, not too dry. Their Brut was super dry, however, and they don't have Prosecco. Cute new little spot that needs a bit of work. I wouldn't return. read more

NOT VEGAN FRIENDLY - their advertised vegan option is terrible and terribly overpriced, and it has to be HEAVILY modified to be vegan to the point where it's not at all the same dish. My server didn't even know they advertised it - the veggielini - as vegan. Modified it's all around flavorless excepting the occasional bite of raw garlic. They also still served it with butter covered garlic bread? Not vegan. If this weren't a falsely advertised option I wouldn't be mad, but when you're touting this as a vegan menu option it's false advertisement. I am also allergic to dairy, so if I had eaten the bread I would have gotten sick. The price was $23 for flavorless pasta that tasted like it came from Cici's pizza. Please remove the vegan marking from your magical dining advertisement to save others the pain of going through this nonsense. Good notes: my server was really nice and the drinks were decent. All my non-vegan companions were happy with their meals, so this review is only here to warn off plant based people. read more

WOW! This place is a must GO! Every bite is so incredible, the flavor is definitely here! The ambiance is amazing , the customer service is outstanding , and the food just gets better with every bite. This restaurant is becoming my favorite restaurant of all time. I'm so excited to come back again and try another new entree. Can't wait to try everything on the menu and keep getting surprised at the unique twist the chef makes.. every dish is their own spin-off and always very well done. read more

The charcuterie board was pretty good. But what was disappointing was the soup of the day that turned out to be really salty and tasted more like marinara sauce, and soup. This is a fine restaurant, but probably could do better. read more

We went to Rusteak when it was located in College Park and was wonderful. Tonight was a disappointment. The bartender had an attitude and acted like we were bothering her all night. We had to ask to place an order. Had to ask for plates for our appetizers. The burger was ok. A bit under cooked and not a ton of flavor. Not sure I will be back. read more

2nd visit to Rusteak. This time I brought my wife ( super picky). She was extremely impressed with the service, cuisine and the atmosphere. My wife had the Steak Pomme Filet with asparagus. I had the Southern Gent salad with a bowl of Mushroom Brie Bisque. 5 star all the way. Tyler was working the bar and also serving. What an exceptional server. Attentive and professional. I've been to Rusteak in College park when they were there and service and food were superb! We went to Easter brunch today and they were just ok. The service was not very attentive and had to flag down another server (not mine) for the salt and pepper! We felt that the limited menu today for Easter brunch was just ok not very elaborate for Easter Sunday. Also the server did not seem very personable and never came and asked us if we even would like another beverage. The bacon on my breakfast order was not crisp at all and full of fat and also when I got the salt and pepper shaker there were dirty had green mold on it, why would they have even delivered this to the table! Miss the old College park Rusteak! read more

Vibes were great at this place, loved the lighting and all the paintings. For dinner I ordered the Steak pomme. I'm not a huge fan of red wine which made up the sauce but the steak and sides were really good! Overall this was a little pricey for me but the food was great. read more

Hello Everyone, Today I checked out RusTeak on Thornton. It was one of the best Magical dining meals I have had even comparing it to the more snobby/higher price places. My server, Micheal, was awesome. My ahi tuna had the best presentation ever. The salmon was not overcooked, and the cauliflower side was the best I have had. It was more of a ketogenic friendly meal with the exception of the bread pudding which reminded me of my mom's bread pudding when I was a kid....I loved everything about my meal. Actually very disappointed with the service my fiancé and I received today. This is our 2nd time here and the first was back in June and we had an amazing experience. However, that was not the case this time around. We wanted to come for brunch which when we were seated we realized we must have missed the brunch given our menu was more dinner based. Which was fine. One server approached our table (no idea what her name was) asked if she could get us a drink other than water. We were still looking over the menu to see what drinks we wanted. 10 minutes later a different server came to our table and asked us if we were ready to order- my fiance got the tacos and substituted it with steak, I got the rusteak burger. We both told her we wanted our meat cooked medium well. When we were ready to put our drink order in- waiter A and B (because still have no clue what either of their names were) did not come back to our table until AFTER the food had been brought out. There was about 5 tables in the whole place it definitely wasn't busy at all. At this point we didn't want anything else. When the food was brought out both of our dishes were bloody and absolutely not at all what we had asked for it to be. We literally just sat and watched how the other tables were being served and it seems that both servers just had no care for our table. One of the servers did finally end up asking us how everything was and we expressed that the meat was very very bloody. She did offer to have it made again- but at this point we wanted to leave. I definitely did not want to wait another 30 minutes for our food to be brought out. As someone who works in customer service this is definitely not a way I would want my customers leaving my place. We had to rush back to our hotel so we could throw up what little we tried to eat. Very sad considering we enjoyed coming here. read more

This restaurant was one of the brighter spots during a recent trip to Orlando. We went on a Saturday evening but the restaurant was pretty empty. The crab cake appetizer had a good amount of crab and was a solid portion. The Brussel sprout side dish was excellent and the bread pudding dessert was definitely above average compared to most restaurants. I'd visit again the next time I'm in town. read more

Great local gem moved over to Downtown from College Park. There are options for everyone on the menu. It is family friendly but also classy for cocktails with friends. I can't count how many times we have eaten here and had drinks. Never disappointed. read more

We came to go to the stubborn mule but the wait time and crowded outdoor area made us stumble into Rusteak. Such a good brunch! We got seating immediately and outdoors was just beautiful with and the seating was spaced out. Our food was so tasty and drinks were perfect! I got the waffles and my friend got the burger. Mel asked if we had any allergies or any other issues that might affect the drinks the bartender would like to make. We said we did not and we decided to take on this "choice" experience. Serena was the bartender of the evening and she did an amazing job. She mixed up various concoctions for us throughout the night (we ordered a second round after the first one) and we enjoyed every drink she prepared. The presentation of the drinks were also well done. Serena's cocktails consisted of bourbon, rum, and various ingredients which could include bitters, lemon, agave or other cocktail mixers. She was the bartender extraordinaire of the evening. For food, we ordered the half dozen chicken wings (2 orders since they were so good) and the pizza empanadas to start. The two empanadas had mozzarella cheese stuffed inside and were served with a warm marinara. From the main menu, we ordered the Faroe Island Salmon, which was served on a bad of risotto and tomato butter, with capers. The portion of the salmon was somewhat small for the price of $28, but it and the risotto were cooked perfectly. We ended the night with their signature drink, "Death in the Afternoon" which contains absinthe and is one of my favorite drinks here in Orlando. It was another five star experience and my friend found a new restaurant she now loves. All in all, a great night thanks to the attentiveness and easy-going attitude of Mel, our server, and the exceptional cocktails from the bartender, Serena. Thank you both for a job very well done!

Honestly. I've never been more disrespected then I was at this restaurant. To make this very long story short. Their Night Shift manager, Hannah, is racist. I had to personally speak with her myself after she was yelling at my table from the bar. She had been making racist comments all night. And when I decided fo go up there to ask her why she was yelling and being racist, she decided to speak on the fact that she couldn't be racist cause she had two black kids, despite being racist to a table full of black people all night. I am so disappointed. We were here for celebration of life. We showed up with excitement to only be met with rudeness. I would never recommend this place.
