Coming towards the end of the day, parking was easy. Arthur assisted me and was great. He really gave good insight into the shoes he brought out for me. I came wanting to try out the Brooks Ghost, and was looking for a pair that's good for walking and light jogging. It really does come down to personal preference & comfort, and I went with an Asics pair after trying on a few comparable shoes. My bf tried a few shoes as well and chose a pair of Hokas. I used to frequent this store to purchase energy gels and running shoes but after today's experience, I won't be coming back. I brought a friend in who was looking to buy a new pair of running shoes and we were helped by a middle-aged gentleman whose name I didn't catch. Initially, he was very nice in recommending different pairs of shoes for my friend to try on. She decided on a pair she liked, and asked if there were any alternative colorways since she wasn't a fan of the color. We were informed that this was the only color available in store. My friend suggested she would purchase the shoe online in a color she liked, to which this gentleman's attitude immediately turned sour. He stared at her with a hostile look, and said "well then we won't get the credit for it". This obviously made us both very uncomfortable, and my friend apologized for the inconvenience. She even asked if it was possible to order online and pick up in store. He continued to stare, and said "we don't have an online store". He proceeded to stare at us with a dirty look until we left the store. The whole exchange was incredibly unprofessional and it left us both feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. It is completely unreasonable to expect your customers to spend over $100 on a shoe they don't like just so employees could "get credit" for it. Overall, this left a really sour taste in my mouth, and I will be shopping at other running stores with better customer service (and a better selection) from now on. P.S. I've been shopping here for at least three years and my only complaint is the parking - (welcome to Pasadena!) I always feel like I purchased the right shoe for me. The ratio of staff to customers is excellent & I feel they are all knowledgeable both about the product and selection and what shoe or sock will help me exercise comfortably. I'm a huge fan of supporting small businesses which is why I purchased shoes today. I was hoping I would have a more in depth conversation with the employees to get me excited about running shoes. There was no analyzing of the foot with a machine (I thought they did that here), no questions were asked to help better understand what shoe was the best fit, nothing other than "how can I help you?". I've been coming here for the last ten years, since my son's track coach recommended Run With us for track shoes. They carry good quality (not cheap) running shoes that are good for your feet. The staff is well-trained and will look at your walk and make recommendations. They are very patient and considerate in helping you choose the right shoe. Armand helped me yesterday to choose some insoles to relieve my foot and arch pain. My husband bought some Saucony shoes for the gym, that relieved his plantar fasciitis. We have also brought ankle braces as needed for minor foot sprains. Highly recommend them, parking in the back, but it can be tight. Or you can usually find parking on the side street. read more

Getting into shape, when you've been more of a couch potato lately, is intimidating. Run with us was recommended by a good friend that has been encouraging me to get outside and start walking. As soon as we entered, Victor greeted us and asked if we needed help. He measured my feet, had me walk, and checked pressure points using a really cool machine. I tried on 4 pairs of shoes. Victor encouraged me to take my time, walk in the store, and wear 2 different shoes, just so I would make the best decision. All of the shoes I tried felt good, making my decision difficult. But after trying different combinations and a lot of walking I settled on a pair. Luckily they have a 10 day return policy. I can wear the shoes outside and if I don't like them they'll let me return it. I also got 2 pairs of super comfortable socks to go with my trail shoes. While I like the approach of just trying on shoes without knowing price, I still think it factors into decision making. Also selecting a shoe based on feel rather than color was different for me. As my friend said, what do you care as long as it feels good on your feet. They have a small lot in back of the store but we opted for street parking on Locust st. They didn't rush us or make us feel rushed even though it was busier. Sadly, not friendly staff I needed to check Nike running shoes for me. However, this dude wasn't friendly at all. First of all I picked up shoes that I prefer to try and he brought out wrong shoes. I wanted particular shoes in color he says we won't order it because it's online thing, plus we won't make money on it. I wanted to purchase particular shoes he insisted those are not for training but for racing. When asked what's difference he gave a look that's not in friendly manner. Not everyone walk into store will know everything about running or shoes. When I said thank you as i walked out no response from him at all. I was recommended to this store by Dr.DeLaCruz after my visit with him for my running injury upon my inquiry for a good store to get running shoes. I've never been to a specialized running store to do a gait analysis or a shoe fitting for that matter, I always assumed I knew my own foot. Boy was I wrong! From the moment I stepped in, Michelle took the reigns and let me tell you, she is an expert! I waited to do this review because honestly I wasn't quite convinced with the shoe Michelle recommended for me. It felt comfortable but it was different from what I have always worn. I have been wearing Nike Pegasus forever and that felt comfortable for me because that's what I have been use to BUT my body has been suffering injuries left and right. Foot numbness, plantar fasciitis, and more recently a bad strain. Michelle explained what I may need based problems and preferences I explained to her and also the results of my gait analysis and found the perfect shoe for me. I have been wearing them for about two weeks now and my foot loves this shoe! No numbness, lots of roomy space but still gripping my foot and my arch is supported in a way I enjoy and didn't realize I needed. Strangest part of this whole process is I have been wearing a 6.5 shoe and never knew I have one smaller foot and one larger one I need a 7.5 to avoid all above mentioned problems. I learned so much about my foot. Wearing my Pegasus now feels so strange, so tight and lacking support. I feel as if I have a better gait now and I am excited to come back in a few months once my injury heals to do a new gait analysis and get a new pair of shoes. horrible experience here every time. I've gone in a few times hoping it will be better or different because I like to support local businesses. i was here today for less than 10 minutes and had the same sales person ask if I needed help 3 times after politely letting him know my partner and I were just looking. the last time I came here, I tried a pair of shoes on and then when I stated I wasn't too keen on the shoe color and the limited selection at the store, he seemed offended. regardless, I thanked him and he kept hovering over me. the employees in general don't allow for customers to truly experience the wonderful place they have. like...sis, just let me breathe! and I get it that perhaps they've experienced theft before, but to have someone hovering over you on the store floor and then someone staring as you watch...and constantly asking if you need help is so off-putting and annoying. nasty attitude from the sales team in general. extremely limited selection. way overpriced. but I tried. would not recommend this place. as a seasoned runner, NEVER AGAIN. read more

Have purchased numerous running shoes here, they are very reputable and knowledgeable about 'all things running'! If you want, they'll assess your feet and running/walking style and then recommend certain brands. No-pressure sales. Small store layout , but packed to the brim with merchandise and eager customers. On this day, bib pick-up was happening for a local event the next day so the store was even more crowded and you could feel the excitement in the air. Thank you Michelle for spending time with me and suggesting the Mizuno, Saucony and ASICS - it was a close call but I finally decided on the ASICS Kayano 29. Amidst the 4 or 5 employees, no one offered to help as I was clearly trying on shoes. I was looking and actively trying on shoes for 10 minutes but no one came up to me. I had 15/20 minutes to buy a pair and was hoping to be helped quickly but the service today for me was lacking. Unfortunately, I need a pair of shoes ASAP so I'll be buying from here but I do not intend to come back. It was extremely frustrating seeing the employees chatting up other customers who were already being helped and/or talking amongst themselves. By this point, I felt so disrespected and turned off, I didn't want to reach out to anyone. I asked an employee who just came out from the back of the store to help me and he was very apologetic and understanding which is why I'm giving 2 stars and not 1. He said it was their fault for not approaching me and that he'd let his other colleagues know. I hate to be negative about this but sharing my experience in hopes of better customer service. They give you several suggestions of shoes to support your feet for walking or running. A bit pricey, However they are absolutely worth it I got 2 pairs. Was a customer here many years ago when I was an active runner and learned so much in terms of how to find a perfect fit.. true running brands (Brooks, Saucony, etc).. and other tips that have stayed with me over the years. I recently started getting back into running and purchased a pair of top of the line Nike running shoes (I know.. I know.. shame on me). After a few days of running with them, I noticed some pain in my right knee. I had a feeling it had to do with these new shoes l but figured I would just hold off until I'm able to go for an adjustment at the chiropractor. I was at the optometrist a couple of weeks ago and remembered the amazing experience I had at this store and decided it wouldn't hurt to drop by since I was only a few blocks away (might as well). Gosh.. I am so glad I did!!! - In the half an hour I spent in there, I learned so much! I ended up with one of the sneakers that was recommended to me based on my average running distance, foot type, comfort ability, etc. - Been running with them ever since and no knee pain!! My partner and I came in desperate for shoes that work for me because I had been suffering from plantar fasciitis pain and swelling for several weeks in both of my feet. I had tried and wasted money on so many shoes from brook, hokas, and new balance but the ones I got never worked. James was the one that helped us out. He took his time making sure we got the right insoles and shoes. Had me try on the Saucony (a brand I've never heard of before) and it was like these shoes were meant for me. James also had me try the other type of superfeet insoles (my podiatrist only recommended 2 types of superfeet insoles). James has honestly done more for me than my podiatrist has! So thank you so much James! You're a lifesaver! I will definitely be back to this store! Arthur is AWESOME! I came in with a very specific question about what I could do to stop the numbing in my toes on my right foot. He put me through a few diagnostic tests and observations, then recommended a few stabilized shoes. I had been running on neutral shoes previously which were causing the problem. I bought 2 new pairs and both work like a charm. Run With Us is a real running store that has real runners working there. I've been to a few other chain locations in LA and have had bad experiences at all of them. I can't say enough about Arthur in particular and Run With Us. After visiting Nike Pasadena (a small store with a "running" focus), I knew Nike Pasadena could not be a running store and finally made it a goal to visit a "legit" running store and here it is! I visited Run with Us on a weekday in which there were a handful of employees- could say at least 4-5! That is a lot! Despite some reviews, I found parking to be moderately easy; you can park on Locust for an hour. Besides, you're at a store that specializes in running / walking, shouldn't you be actively practicing that lifestyle? Lol (+) There are so many items! Flashlights, sunglasses, GPS watches, toe caps to prevent bruising/ blisters, socks, shoes, etc. (+) Discount - if you're a Pasadena Pacer (a free running group which runs throughout the year and also a free training group for LA Marathon), you can get a discount (10% I think). However if you have a Groupon, it is one OR the other. I didn't visit to try on shoes because I already have 2 in rotation and 1 waiting for me to use, so my objective was to buy some gear. (-) I was interested in toe socks (Inijii), but didn't find the normal ones that cushiony. Looked into trail socks but none in my size (I would be wearing a Medium. They couldn't offer me a solution...) other than toe caps, which I didn't find that practical. (-) no pricing on some of the Pacer clothes/ needed to ask. Not sure why it is not marked. Wished it was more transparent from a consumer standpoint. (+/-)this is a good and bad thing, but I felt like the interaction was almost too much that it felt claustrophobic? It was almost though every single item I was looking at, I was being approached. Looked at glasses- approached, looked at socks- approached by another person. I'm not used to that, and would much rather prefer a "let us know if you need anything" environment since it almost feels like being watched. ...But I guess that's probably any specialty / hobby store; I'm not used to excellent customer service, haha. read more

Jose carefully measured each foot, targeted the areas of pain, and selected an assortment of shoes to try. He carefully watched me walk to make sure the shoe wouldn't irritate my pain spots. I'm a mountain biker who just took up trail running. I took it up just in case I couldn't get any friends to go with me on the gnarliest obstacles. I bought road running shoes here a while back and decided to come back for some trail running shoes for my love of the outdoors. Road running and trail running seem like 2 different sports with the same foundation. They had a variety of shoes in my size and the staff seemed very knowledgeable about trail running. I tried on a variety of shoes, some with wide toeboxes. In the end, I got the Saucony Peregrine 12s which fit the best and also had great reviews online. The store is very active in their community in road and trail running. They also were knowledgeable about upcoming running events. They had a wide variety of supplements and electrolyte mixes. Also, they demo certain shoes. It's a good place to try before you buy. I'll definitely come back! read more

I was visiting from Northern California for the Holidays and staying locally with family. I had been having issues with some models and inserts where I felt like I had been sliding out of the shoes. I was told by a "running shoe store" in the Bay Area the I pronated and needed inserts... Staff Member James greeted me and very quickly went to work. We tried two styles of Brooks models and I was able to choose a very comfortable pair. I felt very happy with his service and he was able to work with my spouse a few days later in selecting an appropriate new pair of shoes. Came and ordered new race day shoes to be drop shipped to my house. I paid upfront at the store. The wrong shoes came in the mail and I was overcharged $40 (the model that I got was not the model I was charged for. I paid for a $180 pair of brooks but got a different model $140 pair. Honestly I could say I was scammed for the entire $180 since the shoe I received didn't meet my race day needs at all). Really really basic stuff that wasn't done correctly. I had to drive back to the store to get a full refund and correct the mistake THEY made. Will not be coming back and will not be recommending this place to other runners. read more

Run with us is amazing. I'm just getting into running so they helped me pick out my shoes based on my stride and size. My feet are wide so they set me up with the perfect brand and style of shoe. I ended up going with a smaller shoe and they let me exchange for a half size up without any hassle, even though I goofed up and threw out the boxes and didn't have the receipt. We used to rely on RWU for expert and professional advice, but the level of running expertise, professionalism, and service has deteriorated the last couple of years. We have had at least two mis-sizings and experienced poor responses about them. In both cases we were saved by direct warranty with the manufacturers, but we wish RWU would have taken more responsibility and had more expert salespeople in first place. In one case our inquiry resulted in a customer service person arguing that a half size too big "isn't that much." For any serious runner this is unacceptable. I hope they can regain their standing in the sport, but for now I would find another place to get your serious running shoe needs met. read more

This place is awesome!! I was referred to this place back in May of this year by Dr Claire Futenma (my podiatrist) after I developed a swollen ankle and tendonitis from an exercise class injury, and had to heal and recover from this injury. The employees at "Run With Us" are excellent and top-notch :D !! One employee named Adrian really went out of his way to pick out 3 potential shoe brands and a pair of Superfeet insoles (for my dress shoes) that might work for me, based on the prescription that Dr Futenma had written for me. He also brought out some Superfeet insoles for my dress shoes. He told me that they do not sell Nike shoes at all at their store because it is a well-known fact that Nikes are not comfortable at all for long-term use. He really provided very personal and undivided attention, and made me feel like I was the one and only customer in the store :D !! Even though I came in on an already very busy Memorial Day when so many other customers were there!! I liked all 3 shoe brands he presented to me, which were Saucony, ASICS, and Under Armour. It was so hard to decide among the 3, especially since they all fit so well and so comfortably. I finally decided to purchase the Under Armour shoes. I think any of the 3 brands Adrian presented to me would have been fantastic! But I decided to go with Under Armour since I had never owned a pair. Adrian said that I did not have to buy the Superfeet insoles if I didn't think they were necessary. But he said they might give extra cushion and support for my dress shoes, which he said were technically already wearing out and were "about done" in terms of providing any remaining support for my feet at work. He said that if I decided not to buy the insoles, he would definitely recommend me to purchase a better pair of dress shoes at a local department store. I decided to purchase the insoles for the time being, at least until I had time to go look for a new pair of dress shoes, and also because I really needed the extra cushion and support in my dress shoes, which I have to wear at work. The products at "Run With Us" are kind of expensive and pricey. But I guess this is not a huge surprise, since a lot of really good quality athletic shoes and products are typically expensive and pricey in general. I had a Groupon, so I was able to use that to decrease the cost for me by a little bit. Overall, though, I was really happy with my purchase and my experience here :D !! read more

This is the best running shoe store I have been to. The staff is super knowledgeable, low pressure, let you try on a ton of different shoes. Great all around. They even let me return a pair of shoes ten days after I bought them because when I got out on the road with them, they were just way too soft for my taste. I was able to exchange for another pair that work way better for the way I run on the trails and hills. Highly recommend.
