I was on the way from the train station to a doctor appointment when I saw this running shoe store. I wasn't planning to come in because I'm the runner who doesn't need another pair of running shoes or clothes. Well, after my doctor visit, which was running injury related, I was recommended to stop by this store and try on some stability shoes (I've been wearing neutral and Nikes). I came in with a referral slip that said new balance 860 and 870 and other stability shoes. I was immediately greeted by Victor and I showed him the note and told him I've been experiencing some shin pain. He analyzed how I walked and confirmed that I do pronate more on the right (which is what everyone has been telling me). I didn't mention that to him so it's obvious he knew his stuff. He went ahead and measured both my feet and hurried back with 2 sizes in one shoe since I measured in between. He had a quick check on the fit and confirmed the size I currently wearing is good. Then he pulled out the other recommended shoe along with 2 other different brand shoes. They also let you test the shoe outside on the sidewalk. I found the shoe I liked and I mentioned I wanted a different color if possible. He mentioned that there was only one color but he could show me the catalog and order it for me. Sweet! In the end, I didn't want to wait and I didn't care that much for the other colors so I made the purchase in the shoe. Service was quick and they had a nice selection of everything! read more

The salesman asked a few questions and brought me a few pairs of shoes to try on. After about 5 pairs, I was able to narrow it down to a pair that fit perfect. This is the second pair that I have bought from them, and I really appreciate the feedback and knowledge they have. Having had a bad case of plantar fasciitis in one heel that took a long time to go away, I now am very serious about getting good shoes that will support me feet and arches properly when running. I run mainly 4-5 miles, one or twice a week at most. So nothing too hardcore, but I found out the hard way that even light running mixed with age (over 50 finally) and poor or worn out shoes can really get you in trouble. If you are looking for something to walk in, go to gym, or replace a specific model then perhaps going to the outlet shoe stores is fine. When buying a good quality running shoe I am convinced it takes a bit more careful consideration and staff knowledge. Run With Us has that and is a great local business and resource. read more

Its a small store so you can bet these guys know what they're talking about. They actually go out and do the running! Great point of reference. Excellent, little shop! This store was recommended to me by two different people. One was an athlete at USC and the other was my physical therapist. I figured I'd give it a shot. I knew I needed to save up to buy a good pair of running shoes, but I just wanted to know what to look for in the meantime. I took in a pair of shoes to donate and asked about how to select running shoes. The associate that helped me was extremely knowledgeable and really made sure I understood the principles behind what makes a good running shoe for me. I got all kinds of good information from him and I already told him up-front that I didn't have the money yet to buy shoes and that I'd have to save up for them. He spent all that time with me, regardless, educating me on my feet, my gait, and what to look for in shoes. At the end, he went to the clearance section and found two pairs of shoes for $30! I adore this place! I usually buy two pairs of shoes when I go and Ive been there about 5 times. YES, the shoes are $$$. But honestly, Ive found the models are comparatively priced online. And with the amazing service, I dont feel bad about the $10 price difference. AND, it's your feet- the right shoes impact so much! Few things: I HATE running. Im a walker (for work) and that is what I need. I have recently started running- ugh, I know. Im only doing this as an animal rescue organization has been chosen to benefit from some 5k-marathon races. I'm doing it for the animal! Im having some problems with my shins and a quick phone call helped. Ill be heading in to take a look at: potentially new shoes or compression shocks. Parking: meh. About 4 tandom spots. Can be challenging if you are with someone who has difficulty walking. Great fun and friendly staff. Love this place! Friendly staff with lots of knowledge. I only run a bit when I exercise. I also use my running shoes for my HIIT workouts and hiking. I purchased a pair of Adidas that felt awesome in the store. However, when I wore them to run and for long walks my foot slid around way too much and my feet hurt. Really great personalized experience going to Run With Us. They spent as much time as I needed to get a great pair of running shoes that were comfortable and fit my feet. I've had WAY too man bad overpriced pairs of shoes to cut any corners now, and since I'm getting older, finding the right shoes is highly important. Had the worst experience with this store. I had heard how good they were so when in Pasadena 01.12.19, I thought I get some new running shoes..First the parking lot was literally like a lake, literally filled with water and with such limited parking available. i had not where else to go.. I asked a staff member who was standing at the door if he had any idea how deep the water was - he just shrugged and said "How would I know" RED FLAG 1.. Upon entering the store - was not greeted, a guy stacking boxes in the bathroom are looked at me as if to say "what do you want" RED FLAG 2. An young man followed me, totally disinterested. Dude - its your job to sell me something. I am not in the store for nothing. I started telling him what type shoe I wanted and why, he stood there flipping some sort of cards in his hand like he was about to shuffle a deck.He had no knowledge of the products.. He was awesome explained to me everything that i needed to know about my arch etc. and recommenced me to at least 5 different pairs of shoes and i tried them on and he was very patient and told me to take my time i walk around the store and i was satisfied with my purchase! I usually frequent another running store in Los Angeles. But I was at Vroman's so I decided to give this place a try. Immediately upon walking in, an employee asked me if I needed help. And they had a few people in there already! I said I was looking, but did ask if they had a Garmin watch I was looking to upgrade to. And they did! They kindly held it behind the counter for me while I took my time trying on some new running outfits. They asked me several times if anything was working for me and never pressured me to buy anything. If I didn't like the fit of something, they suggested another popular option. These guys are so nice and help you get just the right equipment for your needs -- bring your old stuff to show them, let them watch you run to make their recommendations - they have solutions ! For example, zero-pronation control recommended for my gait, Achilles pain relief through heel inserts, etc. My first various pairs of shoes were giving blisters so the Run With Us guys got me into Brooks or Saucony shoes with a wider toe box, anti blister socks, and the best yet: TriSlide spray truly, truly works - now I can just quick spray and jump in any shoes or socks without any extra padding :))) no blisters anymore even on 18 mile desert climb :))))) read more

This place is good if you need help finding shoes. They measure your feet and legs. Then observe your natural gait. For more testing they will have you walk and run bare foot on a treadmill. I was having problems with my left foot but unfortunately it wasn't my shoes I had damaged my nerves. But their service was still great and my shoes lasted me a longgg time. That says a lot my coach put my through some extreme training. read more

I went in on a Saturday and they were packed. It was awesome to see so many people taking the time to get properly fitted for shoes. The gentleman who helped me was awesome! He checked the wear pattern on my old shoes, did a balance test and gait analysis, asked lots of questions about my running behavior, and ultimately told me what kind of shoes I would need. He was spot on! After measuring my feet he brought me a pair of shoes to check for size and width. Based on that he brought me several pairs of shoes to try. He explained the features and benefits of each shoe ...he really had great product knowledge and never tried to "sell" me a particular shoe. He encouraged me to run around outside in all of the shoes. He was really intent on helping me find the perfect shoe for me, which he did. This store is the epitome of customer service. I walked into this place not really having a clue about what kind of shoe would best fit me and what would help with my recurring shin splints. I walked out being fully educated about my gait and the problems that attribute to my shin splints as well as shoe care and maintenance. They are so knowledgable here and of course, friendly and patient. The staff made me feel at ease. They carry a wide selection of brands and I like that they don't just have the large name brands, but that they also carry more runner specific brands. The people were nice and helpful at this store, as I originally wrote. But in the end I've become skeptical of these specialty running stores. They are quick to look at you walk back and forth and tell you if your pronate or supinate, just by eye. Then they recommend shoes on this basis. It turns out, if you look at scientific literature on this, that it's basically impossible to figure out if someone pronates or supinates just by watching them walk back and forth. To do it properly you have to put the person on a treadmill, video tape them running, and have a properly trained researcher evaluate this. Running stores have been quick to jump on the band wagon and recommend specialzed shoes, based on evaluations that they really are not qualitifed to perform. The result for me is that I was told I pronate, but I'm not sure this is true, and in the long run I think the shoes I was sold may have cause or contributed to a hip injury I developed. So I think people really need to do their own research about what kind of shoes to get and take the advice of well meaning stores like this with a big grain of salt. read more

Run with them! After months of overtraining, I developed plantar fasciitis. It's a repetitive stress injury and you'll feel it right under the arch of your foot. I learned the hard way that shoes are for support, not fashion. Stupid Nike shoes! I finally had enough and visited Run With Us. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable; I even noticed the trainees studying from a orthopedic foot textbook. Very impressive! And you might have bumped into them at a recent race -- they run, so they KNOW your pain, definitely something you can't get from the kids at Foot Locker. Feel free to pick out your favorite running shoe if you know what you need. Otherwise, ask a staff member to recommend something for you. Be prepared to model your stride in the store. The observation is necessary to pick out the right kind of support for your feet. Believe me, the right shoe will make your running experience so much better. Run with them.
