Run Hub is my go to running store in Eugene. It's a small store but they have a lot. The employees are all extremely knowledgeable about running as well as about every product in the store. Right when you walk in they immediately ask if you need assistance with anything. Super friendly and helpful. They have a great selection of Gus and gels as well as all kinds of running socks. You can even try on model socks to get a feel before you buy a pair. They also have clothes, shoes, running watches, sunglasses, water bottles, foam rollers, and more. I ordered some Oofo flip flops as they were out of my size. I called a couple weeks later to see if they had come in. Jack looked and said he'd call me back. When he called, he said they were delayed but he had called around to see who had my size here in Eugene. Told me where I could get them immediately. He actually sent me to a competitor in case I needed them right away. I said I was okay to wait. He then discounted them when they arrived, which I did not expect. I am not a runner. Like cauliflower, I try it every few years (training for a 5K, trying to be someone who jogs, etc.) and like cauliflower, I never actually enjoy it. I've also never been very sporty/athletic, but I LOVE to walk and hike, and I value good shoes and being able to get them fitted by someone who knows what they're doing, so I always buy my athletic shoes at running stores despite feeling out of place when I go into them (my own issues, I know!) ANYWAY. My experience here couldn't have been better. The person who helped me was knowledgable and encouraged me to try several different brands of shoes, then special-ordered a pair since they didn't have my specific size in stock. When I went to pick them up, Dustin very kindly looked at the fit and told me they were probably too small, but said I could try them for 30 days. After about a week of wearing them, I realized he was right, and so they exchanged them for me in the next size up, no questions asked. I'm so grateful they have this policy, so grateful for their friendly, non-judgemental, and helpful staff. I love their inclusive "running is for everyone" motto, too. Until the past couple of years I had never been fitted for athletic shoes. But then one birthday my sister took me to get fitted at a shop in Seattle. And wow, the shoes you can get at a store like this are a huge upgrade from shoes you get off the rack. I couldn't believe the difference! So for my partner's birthday, I was trying to find a store in Eugene that offered the same type of service, and I came across Run Hub Northwest. He had just started doing long walks, but didn't have a comfortable pair of shoes. We met Macy (hopefully I'm remembering her name right) and after measuring my partner's feet she brought out 4 pairs of shoes to try on. My partner walked around the store in each pair and settled on a pair of Hokas. He says they're so much more comfortable and provide better support than the shoes he was using. I know we wouldn't have been able to find these shoes on our own, because we would've had no idea what to look out for. It really helps when you go to a store and they can pick out shoes that will fit your needs. Plus, I looked up the pair of Hokas online and they were the same price online as they were at Run Hub. If we ever visit Eugene again, we'll definitely be back! read more

I'm on my third or fourth pair of shoes from Run Hub, and I will never buy shoes anywhere else. Each time I visit the shop, the customer service and entire buying experience gets better and better. I honestly can't conceive of a better retail experience. The staff is as knowledgeable about their products as any other store I've ever been to, they're extremely friendly and encouraging, and they are all active in the running community so they can help you wherever you're at in your running journey. First time in this store. Lilly who opened the store was kind a gracious. She took the time to go over the modeling of my foot and my insteps. I probably tried on nearly 10 pair of shoes. This store is great. Their inventory is of high quality and I felt like a real runner being in that store. Even though I am older and don't run as much as most Eugenians, I was still treated as though I was. I was treated with respect and I walked out with 2 great new pair and a set of insoles. Wow. Weeks after visiting Run Hub I'm still in awe of my experience there. Tony used every tool available from high tech measurements and foot-strike analysis to his own considerable knowledge and experience to help me become pain-free. As a new runner, I was somewhat skeptical that my problem could be solved, but it has been! I'm beginning to happily anticipate my runs and look forward to the day I can do Run Hub's group runs. I felt it was so important to take the time to post a review for Run Hub. This was hands down the best shoe buying experience I've ever had. I have plantar fasciitis, and wasn't sure if my foot was healed enough to hike again or not. Just a week after purchasing my Hoka One One Bondis, I climbed Mt Shasta, and Run Hub made it possible! The saleslady (It says her name is O'Sullivan on the receipt) was amazingly well-trained and encouraging. She listened to my needs and foot issues, carefully measured my foot, took video to discover how I pronate and recommended shoes that suited my needs. She also recommended a full size larger to accommodate swelling from exertion and my inserts. Turns out her advice was right on target and the shoes fit perfectly! I've wasted literally hundreds on jogging shoes and could never find a good fit and had almost given up. Thank goodness I gave it one more try at Run Hub. I had a really great experience yesterday at Run Hub. I worked with Tony to spend my birthday money on new running shoes. He took tons of time with me explaining the technical things. He brought me every option to try on that he had in my size. I ended up purchasing a great new pair of shoes. I think we spent about 2 hours in the store and Tony made me feel welcome the entire time. As a back of the pack runner, I have been treated as less than by another store. But Tony went out of his way to ask me questions about my running experience and even went so far as to invite me to their Wednesday night community runs. I have been a excellent customer of Run Hub for years, and in my national and international travels for running events would have to say that in many ways, it's one of my favorite running stores. But over the past year, I have been heartbroken to recognize how actively the store discriminates against female athletes, and how stubbornly resistant they are to understanding the concerns, why they matter, and making the appropriate changes. I think the owner is basically a good guy, but he also appears to believe that he doesn't have to care about equity issues. I won't spend another penny in the store until they get this straightened out. read more

I had a fabulous experience this morning at Run Hub Northwest. I went in with the intention of replacing my well-used Asics. Macie Gale helped me and I received exceptional customer service. Macie sized my feet and based upon their shape and the purpose of the shoes (walking), she brought out four different shoe brands for me to try. She was extremely patient as I narrowed the field to Asics and Topos, a brand with which I wasn't familiar. I wanted the Topos, but, unfortunately, Run Hub didn't have an alternative color to the white ones available. Macie called a running shoe store in Salem, where I would be traveling next and confirmed that they had my size in another color. She also suggested I look at the Topos website to see other options available. I felt she really went out of her way to meet my needs, even though the store didn't receive a sale. I tried another running shoe store in town and was unhappy with the experience. I bought shoes at the other store, came home, and found myself Google searching for other stores in town that I could go to. Obviously, I was not at all confident with the initial shoe purchase. After finding them online, I stopped by Run Hub with my daughter (5 years) which can make an experience like this a little challenging. Not for this store! Chris (hopefully that's how she spells it!) was outstanding. She was patient with my difficult-to-entertain daughter and was very knowledgeable about the products and my specific needs. Their return policy is great (I like knowing that I can take my shoes out on a run and bring them back if they weren't quite right) and the service was truly top notch. While my original shopping experience at Run Hub was positive, it went downhill after that. I purchased a pair of running shoes that just didn't end up working for me. I took them on a very short run (less than 10 minutes) and had immediate pain afterwards. So I brought the shoes back to the store (I was well within the return window) and asked to return them. The owner of the store (yes, the owner) made me feel awful and guilty for bringing the shoes back. He said they would not be able to re-sell the shoes since I'd worn them (even though I'd worn them for the same amount of time a potential buyer would wear them when just trying them out at the store). He blamed me for wearing the shoes and returning them, saying it was a total loss for his store. Before arriving at the store, I had even cleaned the shoes up, washed the soles, and brushed them off so you could not tell I'd taken them on a run less than a quarter of a mile long. It upsets me that Run Hub does not stand by their own return policy and instead they make customers feel terrible when a shoe doesn't work out. I won't be buying another pair of shoes from this place. I've been a runner for 13+ years and I'm no novice. I believe that a running store should help you find the right shoe and, when a shoe doesn't work out, should accept that and allow you to return it guilt-free. read more

I've been coming to this store for over a year and I love it every time! They have group runs every Wednesday night and Saturday morning; and when they say "all paces welcome" they mean it! Kris and Dustin are always hosting different product reps who bring in new stuff to try. It's awesome to be able to try out a new pair of shoes or a headlamp on a run before you buy it.
