I realize this is a small, small town. I realize the workforce is limited. I realize this is a family owned business that has been around since the 70s. But, let's be real. Today, I went in to look for boots. And today is a day I don't need boots apparently. I walked around and around and around for 15 minutes. No greeting. No hello. No ask. Not even a HI . Okay......I can walk around with these shoes in my hand for a while longer. So strange your staff are helping other people right in front of shoe table displays of boots I'd to look at... both of them , no room to walk . Surely , someone will see me ...... trying to get to the boots and o now have 4 in my hand ....walking around .....slowly...... help ??? Anyone ??? Bueller???? Nope. I went to the register and told the man standing there I needed these in a nine. He said are these nines? I go I don't know, Are they ? And he walked way and went to go greet and chat with a lady who just set foot in the building..... Are you kidding me ????!!? What kind of operation is this ???? BTW, I am not a hippie , homeless or anything other than a professional woman in between appointments. So , my appearance is not a misunderstanding of intention while I was walking around. People of the Burch's la la land you could do better. When you are the only non-chain footwear retailer in town you have an advantage but it won't be with me. for years now, burch's has been the go-to place if you're looking for quality shoes in eugene. i've bought multiple pairs of shoes here, from born boots to hoka running shoes to chaco and birkenstock sandals. they have great customer service and a really good selection of quality shoes, socks and purses. they also have a sale section worth checking out. i love stopping in when i'm in town to see what they have in stock and invariably, i end up buying something. there are other shoe stores in eugene, some at higher or lower price points, but burch's is a reliable option that always has a great selection. locals as well as visitors can appreciate the inventory they have regardless of the season. read more

We stopped in here the other night when we were on a mission to go to the Euphoria chocolate store. My guy had been wanting to get new Merrell shoes. He had already gone through 2 pairs. They are a pretty sturdy shoe, and he has had them for a long time. He says they are comfortable. He has many other shoes, and boots, but I always find him in his Merrells. We were helped right away, and the customer service here is fantastic. The selection of boots, sandals, tennis shoes, and etc are really great. If you are someone who needs comfortable shoes. I would recommend this store. I know the prices are high, but for a long lasting shoe, that won't hurt your feet I have found you are going to have to pay the extra money, and that is just the sad facts. Upon checking out, I spotted some great looking compression socks. Better looking than the plain black, or plain white you find in the regular stores, or pharmacies. We picked up a pair, my guy has to have them for travel. So if you are looking for non boring compression socks, look here. I wish all retail stores were as well run as Burch's Shoes. I stopped back this morning to pick up a pair of Keen's I was looking at the previous day. The sales folks are super friendly and quite familiar with the products they're selling. I'd purchased a set of Birkenstocks in the past and after several years of use the fit was getting loose due to the suede stretching. I asked the sales guy if he could put another set of holes in the binding to tighten them up and a couple minutes he handed them back and I was ready to go. My experience today with Geno was amazing! They know their shoes and if they don't have it they will get it. I needed a special shoe and they were just great and friendly! And the return policy is unbeatable! They have my business. 2nd trip: Oh yeah! So another rave review for Burch's shoes in Oakway! I took back my first pair because I liked the second pair that I ordered more...mostly because they were black and I think I little more roomier! Then I told him how I love the insoles I tried at good feet but they were $400 and he found something similar and they were $32. With the credit from the first shoes I ended up paying $12 for my black shoes and insoles! The guy Chris aka Mr. Man way amazing. I love they put your shoes on and lace me up! I feel so pampered! This is the best shoe store in the Eugene area by far, especially if you are a person with any foot or back pain. The salespeople take the time to help you find exactly what you need without feeling pressured to buy, and they are all really knowledgeable. I knew Dansko's where hand made, but it never occurred to me that each pair would fit differently. There are many positive things to express about Burch's shoe store. Unfortunately I had an experience there recently which has prompted me to make a suggestion when training their clerks. I had been standing near to and examining a display of sandals for about 7 minutes when a younger woman entered and began looking over the shoes also. Within less than 2 minutes a clerk arrived and asked the woman if he could help her. I politely informed him that I had been there first. She offered nothing. He then called out to see if there was someone else available to help ME. Possible alternatives: When the clerk approached, IF he was in doubt as to which of us were first, he could have asked. Another scenario is: the woman could have offered the information that I had been there first. As far as I am concerned, both the clerk and the woman made it quite clear that I did not merit the same consideration as the woman. A different scenario, different establishment. I was searching for something in an aisle. A gentleman arrived with his wife and started searching also. A clerk arrived and immediately asked the gentleman if he needed assistance. Notice I referred to the man as a "gentleman". For that he was. His response to the clerk was, referring to me; "She was here first." As I have aged, I have found that I live in two universes. One in which those who are "elderly" merit consideration even to the point of being offered assistance and one in which the elderly become invisible. Carol R read more

I am impressed. Burch's offers some of the best customer service I have ever encountered. The sales staff is not just polite and helpful, they know more about the product they sell and use that knowledge to find some of the most comfortable shoes you can wear. When you grow up and decide that footwear needs to do more than just look good, and are ready to have a conversation with someone that can guide you into a great product, head to Burch's. I used to walk into a shoe store and browse until I found something I liked the look of. I would ask to try it on in my size, and if the shoe didn't make my foot hurt, I was likely to buy it. The problem would surface days or weeks later when the shoe was uncomfortable to stand in all day, or didn't have enough support for an activity. At Burch's, I don't browse. The sales person was nice but did not understand my odd size foot-most don't. I hate buying shoes as they never fit well. Prior visits were to find & encourage a daughter find a pair of high quality, stylish, COMFORTABLE shoes to wear to work during her pregnancy. Sunday, I was referred back by an associate from Nordstrom Rack to repair the heal of an expensive pair of boots I'd worn only 4 times. I have very wide feet -- 8 1/2 EEE. When I came into the store Jeff greeted me and I said I'd bet him $20 that he did not have shoes that would fit me. Turns out I was wrong; Burch's has lots of wide shoes. It's their secret superpower. Fortunately, Jeff did not make me pay the bet I made him. He was patient, engaged, very personable (we shared jokes and camaraderie) and simply the best shoe salesman I've ever met. After telling Terry what I was looking for and my particular concerns, he immediately identified and explained the differences between four or five different shoes in three brands. Love this store. My fiancé received a gift certificate for Christmas and since we are not from the area we stopped by two days later. There was a great selection and many sizes and widths available. I've been buying our shoes, boots and slippers here for about 12 years. My older daughter and I can always find something. Younger one is harder to please. Finally found a pair of really nice midcalf boots for her a few years ago, which she loves and wears mostly in the winter. This year she noticed that the zipper wasn't working. I went to a local cobbler who wanted $60 dollars, with no guarentee as to how it would look, and it would take 3 weeks. Completely forgot that Burch's does repairs so we went back to Burch's and they replaced the zipper, no charge, in about 4 days, and it looks great. They also polished her boots!
