I used to be a customer here. They provided excellent service. I received an email saying they are having a closeout 50% off shoes. I did not keep that email there was no code so I went in and he said there was no such thing as 50% off. The worker seem to know what's going on. But He cut her off and and then said his son who owns the business had him delete an email and that he would not give me any 50% off of anything unless I could show him something. I will never return here again. He did not try to reach out to his father nor was I provided for. read more

I took my adult daughter who has a developmental disability here to be fitted for a pair of shoes. The young woman who waited on her was excellent. She paid extra attention to her requests in a shoe and took the time to measure her foot and to get to know what she liked. Excellent experience. My daughter loves her new shoes and wears them daily. This place is a family owned business and the whole family is involved. I have special feet so I called to check with them if they had any options for me. Not only did they have options, they looked up their inventory to make sure they could help me, they were so helpful when I got there too! They really listened to my needs and even up sold me on a second pair because they heard my needs around my feet and had something they felt would be a good fit for my feet. I can't say enough good things about this business! I love that it's a small, local business that's been around for many years. Every time I come in, the store is neat, tidy, and well organized. They have a great selection. I always find something I want, and typically a few more than I need or can afford at any one time. But it's fun to browse the displays. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. They are nice people who really seem to care about their jobs and customers. They aren't Chatty Kathy when you first walk in. They give you time to browse and form questions/needs before approaching you. Once you do need help, they're all for helping you. They treat you like you're the only person in the store. I like that undivided attention. Parking is a bit tricky at times. I don't think they have a dedicated parking lot? But I wouldn't swear to that. I've just always parked on the street. Which in a Eugene you have to pay for. Annoying, but such is life. The only big turn off with this is during busy times when there's no parking, and you have to either circle the block 14 times or park 3 blocks away and walk. That's my one real complaint here. Went in on Friday night and was helped by a young man and younger woman, forgot to get their names! They were unbelievably helpful. I wanted to treat my partner to a new pair of shoes but we had no idea what we were looking for. They helped us find a shoe in our budget, got her resized (she was looking at the wrong sizes!), and didn't make a fuss at all as we tried on probably 20 pairs of shoes. When we left we realized it was 20 minutes after they closed and they never said anything or tried to rush us! Amazing service, great selection of shoes. Will be returning! read more

The Shoe-A-Holic was one of the higher-rated places in the area, and it seemed to have fair prices. When I arrived at the beautiful store, I was immediately welcomed with a smile. The man, Priya, asked me what I was looking for, and I let him know that I needed some steel-toed boots. He found one pair in my size, but they were unfortunately over my budget. When he asked what I needed them for, I told him about the mission trip. He was immediately sympathetic to the cause and told me that I can consider the boots a donation. I came into Shoe-A-Holic after disappointing customer service at two other stores and was happy the moment I walked in the door. I was greeted by Priya (the manager and/or owner?) and I immediately felt in good hands. I told him what I was looking for and he was very professional and pleasant to work with and I ended up leaving with a great pair of sandals. Because of his great service and shoe selection, I came back again a few months later looking for boots. I found a pair but my size was unavailable and he offered me several options and worked very hard to ensure that I left with a product that I really loved. When I was about sixteen or so, Lazar's Bazaar was a funky little head shop located in downtown Eugene's then-pedestrian mall. Since then, the streets have all been opened back up in an attempt to chase the street kids back into their holes and increase vehicular traffic, because apparently people will buy more stuff if they drive their SUV there than if they have to walk. In any case, Lazar's was an all-purpose emporium for such things as Whip-Its (nitrous oxide), Rush (amyl nitrate), bongs, fake pot (Wizard Smoke, anyone?), concert posters and t-shirts, small pipes, big pipes, skateboarding gear, shoes, sex toys, incense, and just about anything else small, trinkety, and related to vice. Over the years, though, Lazar cleaned up his act a little bit (and ran for mayor a time or two) and now keeps the Whip-its and Rush (not the horrible Geddy Lee-led Canadian "progressive" rock band) under the counter. He also branched out. A few blocks away is Shoe-A-Holic, which sells absolutely no drug paraphernalia or dildoes. Shoe-A-Holic sells shoes. And currry powder. Lots of shoes, big selection, lots of sales, lots of buy one pair, get another pair free, and so forth. The not-on-sale shoes, however are sold at full retail price or more. There are bargains to be found, but you have to be careful. Shoe care products are also sold here. I got some shoe laces. And curry powder. You can buy four or five different blends. Then COVID hit with Stay at Home Orders and I couldn't get the sweatshirt, so I left a message at the store asking if there was any way to buy it. An amazing shoe selection and super friendly staff. I've been trying to find a place that offers casual outdoor shoes that have close to zero heal drop and toe room. Essentially a casual minimalist shoe. I searched online for months and found an Olukai shoe that the manufacturer said wasn't in Eugene. But it is in fact here and for $10 cheaper than the website!!! Wish I would have gotten it here instead and supported this business. A really great selection on other brands and wish I would have come here first! Wayyy better than REI. Shoe-A-Holic ROCKS!!!! If you haven't checked it out yet then you haven't truly lived. I'm new to Yelp but after going to this shoe store I HAD to share my experience...it's only fair that we reveal these precious gems when we find them, right? I had pretty much come to the conclusion that Eugene sucked when it came to finding shoes. Then I saw this girl at a party with these killer boots and asked her where she got them. Shoe-A-Holic was the answer and then she began raving about the shoes there. Ummm...what? Where? How did I miss this one??? Fast forward to two days later, I walk into shoe heaven! Seriously, how did I miss this one? And they have everything. Yes...everything. Not only did I find the girl from the party's rockin' boots but I found myself a new pair of runners, some HOT heels and some funky little flats (that were on sale...double bonus!)! Needless to say I stocked up. After giving my mom the full fashion show, I brought her in the next day, she had almost the same reaction (shock and awe) and preceded to get some Danskos that she swears by and a couple of clearance shoes. They've got incredible shoes, tons of sales too, TABLES of them. I really love this shoe store. I have purchased shoes from there twice now within the last 2 years. The most recent purchase, I was needing a shoe that would be good for walking a lot as I was heading on a trip the following day out of the country. Priyah hooked me up and showed me what kind of shoe I needed to help my feet be stable as the stabililzer shoes I was purchasing from REI / Burches were actually increasing my problem! He showed me a drop shoe that I love. I can't believe that no other shoe store in town had that kind of customer service or knowledge. Let me tell you it has helped, I wore those shoes up a mountain hike for 9.5 hours. I like that Priyah wasn't pushy. I finally checked out this store, and they DO have a lot of shoes. But finding parking was hard, and there was probably only two pairs in the whole store that I would actually wear. The styles aren't refine, elegant shoe that one might wear for a night out on the town or to a nice restaurant. But it is still an awesome place for casual yet hip shoes for hipsters or hippies. One of the few shoe stores I've ever been able to walk into and find a perfect business casual shoe in less than ten minutes. This says a lot about the quality and selection of their shoes, for I have both a difficult foot size (high arches, narrow width) and am very selective about shoe appearance (I loathe about 95% of shoes). But there they were, a pair of Børns that looked beautiful and fit perfectly -- and the staff kept the store open late for me to try on a few other possibilities. This shoe store is unassuming from the outside, but the inside reveals a world of shoes nearly comparable to Nordstrom or other big shoe departments.
