I brought my 15 year old son in for like the 100th time this year to get some trucks, wheels, bearings and the guys who help us were outstanding. I've spent close to $500 there this year but this last $90 was the best I've spent. I only like skateboarding because my son does and because he does I'm all in. But the guys that help us were personable, smart, passionate about skating AND talked to him about their education and how going to college is important. I purchased a pair of shoes from Tactics.com and they started falling apart after 8 months of wear. They told me that was a "long period of time" and they wouldn't do anything but offer 20% off a new pair. I know for a fact most shoe manufacturers warranty their shoes for one full year and my kid is not rough on shoes and doesn't even wear them daily so they should last longer than 8 months of occasional wear. Also tried to say he must be dragging his heels. How does one drag their heels while walking? Not my skinny kid. So I'm reaching out to the manufacturer directly and will take my money to a store that stands behind the products they sell. Buyers beware. read more

I ordered a pair of sunglasses, with rush shipping for a trip. The product arrived on time, but it wasn't the right product. They sent me the wrong pair of sunglasses. When I called them, they were very happy to help me fix the problem; I was going to send the product back and they would send me the correct set. However, they realized they didn't have anymore in stock of the correct pair of sunglasses. I let them know I would just like a refund, but they informed me they couldn't refund the shipping cost since I received that service...!?!? Apparently I should have to pay for their mess up of sending me the wrong product? This is some seriously messed up logic. We will never ever order from Tantics.com again and cannot recommend them at all. The order was placed on Wednesday and we paid for next day delivery. Supposedly the order was shipped on Thursday for Friday delivery (totally acceptable to have a day for processing, no problem). However, Friday @ 3 pm still no delivery and emailed them to check the status. They said UPS doesn't update their tracking (which is true) however they confirmed it would be delivered by end of the day. It wasn't. I called Saturday morning to see if they could contact UPS to locate the package and see if we could pick it up thinking its in their warehouse. Danny said he called UPS to locate the package however tracking was out due to being a weekend & unable track it. The item was to be worn at an event on Sunday so they refunded our expedited shipping costs. Monday passes, no delivery. Tuesday (today) comes still nothing and called them to find out.... wait for it.... they have issued a refund for the entire purchase because......... 1. UPS lost the package AND They are out of stock of the item, couldn't send a replacement. They didn't call us, I had to call and find this out. If they were reputable and made a mistake, they should have called/emailed and owned up to it. Lastly, I just checked and the item we ordered is still up on their website. read more

The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable from both times that I've called them and had questions about gear. They promised that I would receive the gear in time for my trip and upgraded my shipping from ground to 2nd day shipping without charge! So the poor star rating is simply based on not getting what I ordered when I needed it for a trip. The folks there seemed like they were genuinely sorry and offered to get me something while I was on vacation, but I was in Europe for only a week and it would not have made it. I used their free shipping, had 10 days to between the order and my flight vacation and it did not make it. So here is where I think this is more than a ups issue. Tactics used ups and then ups gives it to the usps. I tracked the goggles to my area, and then it got lost once transferred to usps. It took 18 days to get it to me to got back from my vacation one day after it arrived. So beware of their shipping process. read more

Manufacturing defect in my board. Low impact roll into curb cracked front of arbor dropthrough 38" in two places, chipped the front, and depressed the tip. Tactics said any impact, even if defected board, results in void of warranty. No replacement. read more

Very very nice board shop iv bought from tactics every 3 times now they never let Me down the last time I was in there i was looking for a sector 9 striker but they only had the deck. So I showed them a list of the hardware and hey fixed it up for me I got it for $40 cheaper than buying it from sector 9 online plus I got bones reds instead of the factory brand bearings. Awesome skateboard shop. I ordered some skateboarding hardware (sector 9) and it came super fast !! I live in Hawaii and came faster than any other internet vendor. I needed some hardware for my knife sheath. It was plastic (kydex) knife sheath for a MOD razorback knife (ayoob) and needed some bolts and nuts to attach the blade-tech belt clip. I checked ebay but every seller charged an arm and leg for just bolts. Tactics had super fast service just for bolts ! I was amazed. Their website is well organized and has a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge selection. I use to skateboard long time ago back in the 90's. I was a military dependent living overseas and we had to order all of our stuff from catalogs (California Skate Express ,Cheap Skates, FTC). internet was still fresh so there was no such thing as ordering online. This place is on FIRE! The TL;DR (Too Long;Didn't Read) version is that by the end of my shopping experience--which involved taking my rusted longboard apart, McGyuvering the hardware off, and putting it back together--we were all laughing, cracking jokes while the whole Tactics family participated in making sure I had the most incredible service! I have been living on Kauai the last year, and there is one local skate shop which I frequent to help support local--Yes I Skate shop, and Cameron that owns and runs it is awesome! So, it's nice to be here in Eugene for a few months and have another incredible local shop that feels as huge as the island of Kauai haha! So, I came in with a street skateboard to grip, get trucks and get it up to speed! As soon as I walked in, Justin and Kimberly said hello, with genuine friendlieness. I can tell it was real... I am so used to the aloha spirit over where I live! I told them I was on a mission and Kimberly got started on my board... 15 minutes and $65 later I had a badass little skateboard to cruise around with! The challenge came when my longboard, with Kauai rusted hardware, created a big mess. The hardware got stuck, we panicked thinking I had to buy a hand saw to cut the bolts, and that meant that I would be out of a longboard for a day until I managed to fix it. But no worries, within a couple minutes the problem was being solved! With the best kind of teamwork, which involved pretty much every awesome attitude in there--including the manager Justin, Kimberly, Kam, Will, Roberto and Drake! The whole team made sure things ran smoothly as we all pummeled our way to victory! The marine environment of Kauai island had created a combination of rust and salt corrosion that had made the hardware all but impossible to take off, which meant that the bolts were stripped when the hardware was being taken off. But some quick thinking by me, and the rest of the team meant that we managed to find a pair of vice grips...two of the awesome employees went to TOWN getting my board back up to tip top shape! These guys completely went out of their way to ensure that I left one happy skating customer! I offered to buy them pizza, which I thought they deserved, but they told me that they owed me for making me wait so long. I have lived on the Hawaiian Islands for 4 years now that there really isn't ever any rush to get things done, especially when life happens and challenges come up! So, it wasn't a wait for me at all. It was a chance to get to be friends with these badasses! Kimberly especially was a team player, and I could tell she wanted to take on some of the responsibility of the situation, but I knew that sometimes technology, even simple things like nuts, bolts and other stuff just "get stuck." The best part is that by remaining calm, and rationally thinking our way through the situation, we were all able to solve the issue. in the end, I got my board back in tip top shape! Thanks to all of you: Justin, Kimberly, Kam, Will, Roberto and Drake, for making my visit so enjoyable! Your shop really has raised the bar in terms of friendliness, selection, and professional work! I am glad you hired Kimberly! She is an asset to the company, with her genuine cheerful persona and helpful attitude! I'll make sure to be back, since I'm in town for a couple more months at least. I really want to like Tactics... but the customer service is really condescending and the employees are constantly having inappropriate convos with each other instead of addressing customers standing in front of them. I used to run a skate shop in Denver and know about the industry... this is just not how a skate shop should be ran. The employees there just assume you have no idea what you are talking about when in all reality they aren't aware that some of us have been in this game much longer than them. Also, the selection for women, including the snow gear is insulting. I have spent so much money here and really wish I hadn't. I really wish we had a good core shop in Eugene with employees who actually care and a decent selection for female snowboarders. I have had so many frustrating and condescending interactions at this store. Bend's customer service is much better. Also, management should close the door to the office if they are gonna roast an employee... just saying. Pretty much a BC Sports at this point, just less professional. read more

TACTICS is the best online skateshop out there...while others claim "100% Live Inventory"...TACTICS DELIVERS!!!! Fast, free shipping, huge inventory, and painless returns and exchanges. My Indy bolt holes were slightly crooked, out of location by .040" of an inch. They are likely skateable, but I'm picky and own a dial caliper. TACTICS delivered a new set of trucks in two days and didn't charge for the shipping on the return. I've placed over a dozen orders with Tactics and it's always a pleasant experience. If you are from Canada DO NOT buy from this company. They have it worked out with the border to pay duty on EVERY package. I have ordered 3 times from this company and every single time have been charged duty. You will be charged $30 duty on a $45 hoodie. I order from the United States on a regular basis and understand that sometimes by chance you get dinged with duty but NOT 3 times on 3 orders from the same company. Ill start this review off with saying I have ordered many many things from tactics. I have spent alot of money buying stuff from their website and Ive always been happy with the way they handled things. Their shipping is very fast and prices are always a steal. Recently I had returned two pairs of shorts and I noticed I had only been refunded for one pair. I contacted them and a guy told me one pair had hair on them to the point where they couldn't clean them so they sent them back. The shorts arrived and I opened them to find two or three small unnoticeable hairs on the shorts. I called and spoke with a guy who said he had tried to clean them and they had to be shipped back because he couldn't completely clean them. This was very frustrating talking to him and looking at the shorts that were nearly spotless. I thought they would atleast have the decency to reimburse me for the shipping. Now i have to send back a pair of shorts for the second time for no reason. Next time ill give my business elsewhere. Dogfunk is pretty similar and Ive had no issues with them:) read more
