DSG offers workout apparel and footwear, winter clothing, team sports gear, home gym equipment, NCAA and pro sports licensed team apparel, and more. And while such a large assortment of products might seem incoherent, DSG's store artwork, wide size ranges, and kid-focused clothing and apparel offerings convey the story that sports are for everyone, which I fully support. Apparel-wise, about 70% of DSG's products are focused on lifestyle and casual wear, while the other 30% is sport or workout-specific. Footwear-wise, DSG offers a fair selection of lower to mid-tier athletic shoes. Of course, if you're looking for top-tier sports shoes or the most trendy footwear, you're better off looking online or at a specialty store, but for general cleats and workout shoes, DSG has some options that won't break the bank (the highest priced shoe I saw was around $130). Staff members were helpful and engaged with customers throughout my shopping experience. We walked in and were greeted by about 3 employee's and asked if we needed help. Well not yet... so when we finally needed help I could not find a soul to help us! Oh well. Finally got a gal and tried on a couple pairs of shoes. But nothing worked. Oh well next time! Not sure what all the bad reviews are about, but I had a great experience with this store. The customer service is outstanding. The employee that I was blessed to have help me was Vilapun. What a blessing she is. I had bought a mountain bike on line during this whole Covid-19 thing. I had to buy online because of the stay at home order and bikes were literally disappearing right out of my cart.I bought 3 bikes, 1 for my daughter, 1 for my wife, and 1 for myself. When my bike was delivered, I took it for a quick ride out front of my house and it made a clanking sound every time the bike was leaned to the right and most of the time just riding or coasting like normal. I took the bike to the Dicks near to where I live in Tacoma and they said they would look into it. After a few days of getting jerked around, they were unable to find the issue. They were supposed to call the manufacturer and troubleshoot it. At this point I asked them to just swap the bike out for me. They used every reason to avoid swaping the brand new bike I bought that obviously had something wrong with it for another new bike or even refund me so I could buy another one. I started calling different stores checking availability and came across Vilapun. She said she had a bike in the store (last one that size) and as long as I had all my paperwork she would refund me for the bike that had issues. So, I went online and bought the bike in Eugene so they could hold it, picked up the bike from Tacoma Dicks, and drove 4 hours south. Let me just say, everyone that we spoke to in this store in Eugene were awesome, helpful, and polite. Special thanks to Vilapun for all her help. Greatly appreciated! You better keep her happy Dicks. Unbelievable! Drove an hour to buy our kids football cleats but were told the security tag could not be removed so the right shoe could be tried on. Asked 3 times and were rudely told "NO" due to the fact that our entire family might break for the door once we had a shoe on my son's foot. Dick's has gotten their last dollar from us. read more

Called DICK'S on Kayaks, spoke with Mitch at Eugene Store. He was very knowledgeable and stated when I show ask for him. Arrived the next day from TriCities Wa. on my way to Langlois Or. Mitch had me in and out the door with Kayaks / paddles in right size and type/ and carrier needed for Prius to carry one of the Kayaks on top and we placed the other 10' Kayak in back of hatchback very carefully. Mitch is probably one of the best retail salesperson I have encountered after my 65years on this planet. DICK'S is lucky to have such a dedicated employee with his information on equipment dealing with Kayaks I felt grateful and happy with my purchases, THANK YOU AGAIN MITCH! read more

No one is ever around to help with questions. And once you find something you like there either is no price listed or placed in the wrong place and not just one item but at least 5 or more of the item all in the wrong place. Every time you have a question no one seems to i is the answer like hello hire knowledgeable ppl or simply train them, oh yeah and mabye train them to no hate the fact customers need help sometime. LOVE trying the bats out first However, the regular associates didn't seem to know that there was a hitting cage. Had to ask for a manager after being told no they couldn't remove the safety device for us to try it out. Also, associates don't seem to know there are *really* good coupons out from the store. Spent $250 Sun at 3:30 pm, a 20% coupon started the next day. I called on Monday, and explained this and the associate told me to bring the receipt and coupon and they would happily give me the price adjustment. It's irritating to have to have to make 2 trips. But I could have been more on my game too. read more

:::i use yelp as a means to compliment exemplary encounters w/ businesses deserving praise. check my history, this is my FIRST non 5/5 star review in SEVEN YEARS on yelp. it's a long but entertaining anecdote, awing even::: -in looking for a pair of running shoes shoes willing to drop up to $170 (my annual treat-yo-self) i'm not sure if I made the mistake right when I walked in there asking where the clearance rack was but after spending a little under two hours in the shoe department I started feeling like I smelled bad or perhaps I was mistaken for someone who slept with one of the shoe salesman's significant other. it seemed almost comical how ignored I was the entire time while I watch to salesman lean against the shoe rack and talk amongst each other then when one salesman left, I assume because there was literally no one in the store, the otherstarted helping a woman who just walked up after that another woman walking by asked her a question about pricing and she helped that woman then she sought out a man who was "just looking" and offered him recommendations -she then asked someone -who isn't me- & was looking at socks, if they needed help. all the while I was going through box after box of incorrect shoes to math the description , trying to find the right size. I couldn't find a price for anything, I needed booties for my feet to try on the shoes, I had questions about running versus freestyle, etc. etc. etc. oh and because I'm a decent person I made sure to put all the shoes back up where I had pulled them from an even match some shoes with their corresponding and correct boxes -at one point I literally interrupted the sales person -from a conversation she was having about going to the river or something (neat)- and asked her to please price check the 11 or so options I had narrowed my search down to. I was going to ask her a question about a few of the shoes but decided against it because her demeanor intimidated me annoyed she came over after about a minute (count to 60 seconds and see if that's not kind of a long time to wait for someone who is 25 feet away from you and not with a customer) she repeatedly asked "all these?" "all of these?" "which ones?" "did you keep them in the right [shoe]box" then she price checked my options careful to make sure she wasn't coy about her annoyance with having to check sooo many prices. -i wanted to throw a shoe at her head. I probably sound like a despicable human being but I literally haven't felt this way since junior high school. my feelings were beyond hurt by someone who was supposed to help and sell to me. I even questioned whether I smelled OK or if I have something on my face or well I pretty much pondered any reason someone would be so despondent to one person in particular and blatantly gleeful to every single other person in sight. - after researching certain styles and trying to find prices via google shopping on my iphone - which absolutely no service - I finally made a decision. The perfect one see year gift to myself shoes that I freaking love it and are perfect yay #treatyoself - i started walking to the front to check out the lady yells to me "you can check out here, i can rong you up here." I assume the only reason she happened to notice me at this particular time I had something to do with some sort of commission based or incentive based benefit from selling expensive af shoes, each sale maybe going on record as a sale for whichever particular employee in the shoe department rang them up. just a guess tho. so i kept walking, looking ahead and politely yet firmly voiced "i'd rather not." -I wait in line at the front and when I get to the checkout stand and have paid for everything, I asked the cashier "May I please have that Nike box to put my new shoes -also Nikes- in?" (I couldn't find the corresponding box to correctly match the shoes I have picked out, and given that there were countless open and empty boxes on every single shelf I sifted through during my search, I figured it would be OK. i also felt entitled to it bc i dropped hella money and had nothing to carry my new sneaks out with, not even a bag. -The cashier said, no strike that -started to say "yeah I don't see why n..." when lo and behold a shoe salesman appears and proceeds to stand directly in front of me, next to the cashier. (the same shoe salesman in my aforementioned bitch-fest.) she cut off her fellow employees stating "no, I have to match each pair of shoes to the right box, i need that" then she swooped up the box and turned, walking cheefully back to the shoe dept. but all the sudden she paused and slowly turned around, looking at me as if I had stuffed my purse with stolen goods she almost and asked accusatorially, "so there is an empty box back there? Yeah? How many were there... Interesting." -trick what? i mean wtf, i'm not going to name drop because I don't want anyone to get fired however... are you efen kidding me? ew dude... just gross. read more

Abysmal, nonexistent customer service. An employee will watch you obviously struggle, shopping for a toddler bike and helmet *with* a toddler, and not even acknowledge you or move the bike that's blocking the helmets. Greet. Your. So I'm going to make this as short and sweet as possible. My husband is 71 and just had first of two knee replacements. Physical therapy said to buy a stationary bike. Bike was purchased at Dick's Eugene Store in box with promises there are only 4 parts to assemble. Car cannot transport put together bike and we declined the $122 delivery/assemble fee (Hey the bike cost $400 (we live 1 mile from store) took the box and headed home. And it was heavy. Birthday present for Scott and a good idea. Spent 13 hours putting the sucker together as a surprise. Fast Forward. Not 4 parts to assemble. There's a console hookup with wiring and I could go on but won't. The bike is put together except for one thing, the left pedal is defective and won't thread. Dick's first answer, "Call Schwin" Problem there. We didn't buy it from Schwin. You call. Nope. Next solution, take it apart and bring it back and we'll give you a "slight" discount on a new one. opps, it's HEAVY Our solution, put one together that's right, deliver it a mile down the road and pick up defective one. NOPE Yeah we're asking them to do what they would want a company to do if they were sold a heavy defective product. Yes we're asking them to swallow a $122 assembly/delivery fee but even at minimum wage I spent more than that assembling and must disassemble and haul back? Bill is in dispute. And the Manager from the get go (Jason I believe) was confrontational, overspoke us constantly, somewhat belligerent and totally uncaring about our question "Do you stand behind the product your selling. My wife and I purchased a treadmill and paid the $120 to have it delivered and installed. The first gaffe came in the way of the purchase not getting entered into the system correctly, thus not alerting the moving company that they had a pick-up item waiting. Had we not called, who knows how long it would have sat there waiting to be delivered. Now the item is delivered. An item that weighs hundreds of pounds. Who do they send? One small delivery man to haul this thing up our stairs. My wife ends up having to help this person move the item all the way up to the second floor. Along the way, since the (one!) person they sent to move the item was not strong enough, our house is damaged along the way. Now we must spend our time getting two quotes (their rule apparently) to have the damage fixed. read more

I was pleasantly surprised when I went into this sporting goods store for the first time yesterday. It is a well-kept, organized store that is easy to navigate through. The staff are friendly and are eager to provide information about products and help you with any questions you may have. They have a wide variety of sporting goods, sure to meet your needs with anything you are looking for. What I really like most about this store is I felt like they really had reasonable prices. There was a product that I was looking for on Amazon prior to coming to Dicks. When I got there, I found the same product for $40 cheaper than the price on Amazon. There were a lot of other products that were also at reasonable prices. I will definitely be going back to this store for all of my sporting good needs!! read more
