I have frequent this place several times at several locations. only to find out that the service is slow, the food is not that great, over price, not worth the wait, lots of GNATs! If you go to the location in the city near Tulane, it smells like sewer but it has the largest parking lot. read more

I visited this new Ruby Slipper location with high expectations. While my first visit fell a bit short of what I expected, this will not stop me from giving them another chance. This location has only been open about a month and they are for sure working out a few kinks. I still have high hopes that they will rise to the Ruby Slipper name and quality. The service was fantastic during my visit. The waitress listened to my concerns as did the manager of the location. They were very receptive to the feedback provided, and we had a great conversation. The restaurant itself is beautiful, colorful, and bright which is very inviting for a breakfast/brunch-style restaurant. I'm really looking forward to returning to see if they have improved on the items mentioned in our conversation. Items mentioned in my conversation with the waitress and manager were regarding a couple of undercooked items. Overall I'm very happy with my experience at Ruby Slipper and plan on returning to try more of the menu items. read more

The new location immediately had a great feel. Great ambiance and great music upon walking in the door. The staff was friendly and took pride in the service they brought. The food was excellent. We had a group of 6 passing things around and sharing tastes. We left full and happy. The one-star reviewers here should delete their reviews. New restaurant openings should be off limits to negative reviews. New openings can be tough and we all need to better cognizant of that. I've been to just about every Ruby Slipper in the city but this is hands down the worst. I understand it's a new location but the service was horrible, food not edible and just felt like a waste of time and money. The servicer was so rushed and I had to repeat my order over 10 times, she was sweet but not paying attention. I sat outside with my 3 year old and 2 month old to have some space on an empty patio and to make it easier to relax but I had to get up multiple times to get things or give them back our pancakes because they were wet inside and just not cooked through. I asked 2 people to speak to a manager and none ever came. The pancakes never got sent to us and I was just over it and fed him my food. I just wanted to get out of the house and have a nice breakfast but was frustrated the entire time. Go to any other location until they get it together. read more

We made reservations online and were seated immediately. The server was very attentive. We had to wait a bit for fresh buttermilk biscuits but it was worth the wait. The Manager came to the table before hand and explained the situation, and offered a few options; this is great customer service. Don't get sucked in by the number of cars in the lot. It gives the illusion that there is something good here and, in reality, there isn't! This place has to be the most overated breakfast place in town! Got here and seated right away! I am not sure which part of the experience was the best: sitting at the table next to the hostess stand so that every single person waiting to be seated was right on top of us, the waiting over an hour for someone to bring a diet coke to the table after asking literally 3 people at dofferent times, or the half-cold food food that was ordered an hour prior. One would think that after the diet coke issue and bringing attention to the fact that we never received the drink after asking multiple times and multiple people that maybe, just maybe, we would be serviced properly at that point, but nope! No one even came to check on us again until the end! No refills- nothing! The server was sweet, but clearly overwhelmed with bigger tables and no one stepped up to fill the gap. This is poor management at every level! Save yourself the disappointment. Nola has tons of restaurants and in the time you would spend waiting for the bare essentials at this place, you could be dining at a really good restaurant! read more

I visited Ruby Slipper on a really busy Saturday morning and I enjoyed my experience from beginning to end. The hostess, I believe her name was Tray or something (charge it to my head and not my heart) Chocolate sister with locs in a high pony tail, was very pleasant. There were a few different guest that entered the restaurant at the same time and she handled each party with ease. Sometimes there's a long wait to get a table, but it makes the wait easier if you have a great host!! I give that young lady 5 stars on her customer service. My server that morning was Rebecca with the quarter size red hoops and she was just the nicest person ever. She sweet and very personable during out entire stay. Even my teenage son took notice and said more servers need to have her attitude. Overall we enjoyed our experience and I would definitely visit this location again. read more

The food was awful, I ordered buttermilk pancakes and scrambled eggs neither of them were good. The eggs were runny and pancakes weren't cooked. Never again. read more
