Don't get sucked in by the number of cars in the lot. It gives the illusion that there is something good here and, in reality, there isn't! This place has to be the most overated breakfast place in town! Got here and seated right away! I am not sure which part of the experience was the best: sitting at the table next to the hostess stand so that every single person waiting to be seated was right on top of us, the waiting over an hour for someone to bring a diet coke to the table after asking literally 3 people at dofferent times, or the half-cold food food that was ordered an hour prior. One would think that after the diet coke issue and bringing attention to the fact that we never received the drink after asking multiple times and multiple people that maybe, just maybe, we would be serviced properly at that point, but nope! No one even came to check on us again until the end! No refills- nothing! The server was sweet, but clearly overwhelmed with bigger tables and no one stepped up to fill the gap. This is poor management at every level! Save yourself the disappointment. Nola has tons of restaurants and in the time you would spend waiting for the bare essentials at this place, you could be dining at a really good restaurant! read more

My server, Rebecca was the absolute best from the time we walked through the door the cleanliness of the restaurant the management staff everyone The eggs, Benedict and the hollandaise sauce on a biscuit, which I never had which was so good came all the way from Dallas never had a great experience like this in my life. I visited Ruby Slipper on a really busy Saturday morning and I enjoyed my experience from beginning to end. The hostess, I believe her name was Tray or something (charge it to my head and not my heart) Chocolate sister with locs in a high pony tail, was very pleasant. There were a few different guest that entered the restaurant at the same time and she handled each party with ease. Sometimes there's a long wait to get a table, but it makes the wait easier if you have a great host!! I give that young lady 5 stars on her customer service. My server that morning was Rebecca with the quarter size red hoops and she was just the nicest person ever. She sweet and very personable during out entire stay. Even my teenage son took notice and said more servers need to have her attitude. Overall we enjoyed our experience and I would definitely visit this location again. read more

Every time I go to either old met or the new vets location impossible to park. Wanted to try vets had to go elsewhere to eat.

Let's start with how limited parking space is.. Then move on to I a mimosa flight, shrimp & grits with a side of catfish and it took an hour to get my food. I have been waiting to visit this new location on Veterans. We love the food at the Ruby Slipper, it's always so delicious. The Gulf Shrimp Omelette is one of my favorite and the French Toast bites are really nice to start and of course you cannot pass on the Mimosa Flight ! Rebecca our server offered great service and conversation... Don't worry we'll be back to this convenient and your very well designed cafe. Have never been to any Ruby Slipper location, but decided to bring a visiting relative to the Vets location instead of Metairie Rd just because of the parking. Started to regret that decision because our food was taking way longer than it should. Our very attentive waitress, Lourdes, brought the manager over to explain that there was a problem with the oven and the biscuits (which was the hold up) could be changed to another bread option. We decided to wait for the biscuits and I'm so glad we did. They were great! Wait was longer than it should have been, but the manager made up for it with a credit on our bill. The food was great and so was the customer service! We will definitely be going back. read more

I find that from location to location of this restaurant there is no consistency. This newest location in Metairie, is bigger, has more seating options ( which I guess is truly no different than the other locations). The thing that was more obvious to me at this new location was the service. It could've been for a number of reasons , or no reason at all. I'm not sure if we are still in the era that we are supposed to be forgiven for service that is infact, questionable. I mean I am obsessed with the french toast bites. So chances are that I will return to my usual location. I just want someone to know. If not only the people that might actually read my review ( it's my hope that I actually get like the managers attention). I just want someone to know that it would appear that most at this location might not be ready for business. I overheard a waitress that stated she needed more hours. It might be true. I hope that she's able to get what she needs. All I'm trying to express is that , I guess we need to be patient, this location isn't ready yet. read more
