Bread pudding

The ambiance is perfect for casual upscale dining with upstairs and outdoor dining. I didn't care for the shrimp taco, the shrimp toast was good, the Brussel sprouts were the best I've had, and the bread pudding dessert mmmmgood!!!!

I love Junior's! Its a neighborhood spot I visit when I dont want to go far but a great meal. They take reservations but I usually walk in and if not tables are available there has always been a spot at the bar. On my last visit I had the salmon crispy rice and I would never think to get this outside a Japanese restaurant but im glad did because it was delicious! We also had the calamari which was standard fried calamari but the romesco dipping sauce took it a notch. For my entree I got the group sandwich and fries which was also really good. Never had dessert here because Im always too full but there is attached ice cream shop which I believe is seasonal but seems to be popular when open. They also make great drinks, the cocktail menu seems to change with the season but they're always good!

We order a lot of corporate catering. These guys knocked it out of the park. The food, the service, the presentation and their execution exceeded all of our expectations.

This place seems like an upscale restaurant which the menu prices certainly make it seem more upscale. The service is the best thing about this place as they do have attentive servers. The food choices on the menu though just don't really excite me here. Out of the items I sampled on my visits here I've found that their portion sizes run small and just don't really fill me up enough to make a meal out of them. Everything I've tried here has been decently OK but nothing has been really good or flavorful. The food here is a bit too contemporary American for me and I would like a bit more traditional New Orleans style food. So overall this is an alright spot to have a snack and then I will need something else to eat not long after.

Health is WEALTH! Family of four feast after local shopping was great. The staff were attentive and somewhat quick. The bartender knows how to make good drinks. There's a lot of great choices at reasonable prices. They do not do military discounts but on Veterans Day it's 10% (I didn't get pictures of everything). Loved the VIBES!!!

I visited about 2 months ago, and while my experience wasn't terrible, it wasn't the most pleasurable toward the end of my dining experience. I left a review, and not only did the general manager reach out, but the owner, Nick, also contacted me. I received an email explaining the misunderstanding and outlining the steps they took to ensure it wouldn't happen again with future customers. To make up for the previous visit, I was offered a complimentary drink and a gift card, which was much appreciated. This time around, everything was PERFECT! I even had the same waitress, and we had a brief chat about my last visit, she apologized for the misunderstanding, which really showed their commitment to customer satisfaction. This is the epitome of customer satisfaction, accountability, and hospitality. I'll definitely be back and highly encourage you to try Junior's if you haven't already!

Definitely a hidden gem. Nice vibes, calm atmosphere, great food, great drinks, great service. Can't beat it. Shout out to my last bartender, Eddie, who put me on to fee foam instead of hassling with egg whites!

Brussels Sprouts.

Gorgeous restaurant with great service. The hot honey buns were just okay. The steam buns were super soggy and fell apart, but the chicken was crispy and good. The Brussels were amazing. loved the sauce on them. Soup du jour was like a shrimp and corn bisque and was very good.

Went for a birthday dinner on a Friday night. It's a perfect spot for a girl dinner. Very cute and bright. Our server was amazing! I wish I could remember her name. She made some great recommendations and was very sweet! The food was delicious. It's a great Seafood Friday spot if you're looking for something a little different. The stand outs for me were the Shrimp Bao buns which were on special and the all vodka pasta that I subbed our grilled shrimp instead of sausage. Oh and those cheese curds are a must order!

Every time I go to Junior's I get the same thing: a Junior Burger with a side of truffle fries. It is really that good and keeps me coming back. The service is always great. Junior's is great because it can be a casual meeting spot or something more elevated.

Hmmmm....."Be nice, Mickey"..... This place is a cute spot to have a quick lunch after visiting the children's museum and awaiting the 2pm check in to your air b and b 3 miles up the road..... And that, my friends, is exactly what I did!! Very open, clean, roomy with trendy decor. The waitstaff did their jobs well, but it just might've been an off day for the kitchen.... The cheese curds had so much potential....i'm a big time cheese head (not Green Bay folks)! Can't eat it all the time well...because you know what happens....but when I do, it needs to be pretty damned magical. I was expecting ooey gooey, melty, stringy cheese when I got cold, solid, lumps...sound magical to you? The Korean cheesesteak sandwich wasnt bad...wasn't very tasty either. I honestly think I just got tired of eating it after bite 3. There was cheese in the description but none on the sandwich...I guess the chef assumed my child and I had had enough dairy for the day. Brussels sprouts was the winner! The sweet and tangy drizzle on top was the perfect addition! Crispy outer, tender and leafy on the inside. Tasted like a real vegetable. My advice to you, ladies and gents, keep it simple. Get something like tacos here. Don't do too much. Everyone has their limits.

This place is so incredibly beautiful, the drinks are perfect, the food is absolutely delicious up and down the menu and the staff are professional. I love the long views through the tall windows and atrium entrance. The second floor garden porch is walled by the lush branches of a young live oak. Indoors and downstairs, the bar is clean, bright and elegant, and the table seating is appropriate for business or a lunch or evening with the family. Outside patio seating in front and back harkens to a relaxed and elegant Spanish plaza. The upstairs indoor room has the feel of going out with your best friends before night full of festivities or the perfect place for a romantic date. The Cobb salad is so clever with its puffed corn kernels in lieu of croutons, and with its leafy greens instead of iceburg. It is very delicious and light. The shrimp and corn was bisque very satisfying. Delicious, large gulf shrimp that are cooked on pony (thank you for buying local!). A bisque that had the right color and texture, and with a proper fish stock and the appropriate amount of cream to steer clear of qualifying as heavy. I'm a lover of piping hot soup - and the hotter-than-warm just didn't do it for me tonight. The truffle fries are a dream. The fries are fresh and they spare no expense on the quality of the shaved Parmesan and the truffle oil. I often order the juniors burger - two patties with high quality meat, a signature delicious sauce and well-curated accoutrements. It is hard not to eat it quickly. The red beans and rice with sausage or fried catfish or grilled (or fried) chicken on Mondays is probably the best red beans plate available on wash day (Mondays) in all of New Orleans. The sazerac is traditional and perfect. The juniors old fashioned is orange forward and hangs on the back of the palate with an all spice liquor. They are professional in their concoctions across the drink menu. Desserts - I (and my little girls) absolutely love the salted fudge gooey cake with its crisp pistachio ice cream topping a hot/fudgy/brownie foundation. The servers swear by the white chocolate bread pudding. I will need to try next time! Service is warm and focused. I consistently find the waiters and waitresses to be very kind and knowledgeable about every item on the menu. Could it be the best restaurant in Lakeview? Yes. Is it a gem for the city of New Orleans? Also yes. Experience it for yourself.

I took a short Uber ride to eat here while visiting the area for a conference, and I have thought about the delicious burger and fries several times since then! The inside is beautiful - so cozy, clean, and airy downstairs. Upstairs bar area is open and has such great vibes. They also have adorable outdoor seating. I had a burger and truffle fries, based on yelp recommendations, and a drink from the bar... all of them were A+ delicious. Absolutely one of the best burger and fry meals I've ever eaten. The service was attentive and friendly. The waiter was talkative and recommended an ice cream place down the street for desserts, which was also delicious. Absolutely recommend this place. Get the burger and fries - you won't regret it!

The veal sweetbreads were crispy on the outside and very buttery on the inside. Overall, the flavors of most dishes were delicious and unique. I can see why they earned a Michelin star. The pistachio cheesecake wasn't too sweet, and we enjoyed every bite. Service was outstanding--from the host to our waiter and the entire dining room staff. From the moment we sat down, the staff set the tone--professional, genuinely friendly, and impressively efficient. We began with a trio of starters that showcased both richness and restraint. The foie gras torchon was silky and indulgent, perfectly complemented by fruit confiture and warm, toasted Bellegarde Bakery bread--a classic pairing done right. Marinated crab claws, dressed in a lively chili vinaigrette, delivered a bright, briny punch, while the pickled pineapple and jalapeño chips added just the right balance of sweetness and heat. A cucumber salad rounded out the starters, crisp and refreshing, acting as a welcome palate reset before the mains. For entrées, comfort and finesse shared the plate. The confit chicken thighs were meltingly tender, paired with ham-braised greens swimming in a tangy apple cider vinegar broth. A lovely Dijon cream tied everything together, adding richness without overwhelming the dish. Equally memorable was the half smoked duck, beautifully executed and deeply flavorful, served over a smooth pumpkin-sweet potato purée. The cherry bourbon glaze brought a subtle sweetness, while the pepitas added texture and a nutty finish. Dessert was the perfect exclamation point on an already wonderful meal: a slice of hot chocolate cheesecake, decadent and deeply chocolaty, crowned with toasted marshmallow fluff that leaned just enough into nostalgia without crossing into excess. Toups Meatery continues to deliver thoughtful, soulful cooking with polish and heart--comfort food elevated, served by a team that clearly knows what they're doing. My wife and I visited on our first NoLa trip together about 4 years ago and make it a point to go every time now. Our first time we stopped in for lunch at the bar and had an excellent experience, and decided to return. We came back on the next trip just to grab a drink and a snack before heading down for dinner in the Bywater. The bartender (Chris) gave a bunch of recommendations for places to visit that way, all of which we have done in the past few trips and have loved. But it's this past trip where we were truly blown away. We were in town for JazzFest and after walking back to the French Quarter, we were thinking about food options and decided to take a gamble to see if we could get a seat at the bar or maybe grab a drink for the road before getting food somewhere else. The bar was full when we got there around 8/8:15, but they had a no show and could serve us, as long as we ordered quickly and were ok with the check hitting the table right at 9PM. Given our slightly (perhaps generous) inebriated state from being at the festival all day and being slightly underdressed, we felt this was quite a kind accommodation. With the clear expectations of needing to get our orders in quickly, we wasted no time making a decision on our drinks and a few food options. Despite this need for a quick turn around, at no time did we feel rushed. The food and drinks were absolutely perfect, as they always are. But what impressed us most was the staff. At no point did the hostess or wait staff seem annoyed by us, despite us parachuting in from a music festival and looking like sunburn and poor decisions. By managing expectations on the front end, we never felt rushed despite the need for a quick turn around. They were all lovely, professional, and as cordial as if we were regulars with standing reservations once a week. In terms of atmosphere, it is always perfect: lively and fun for a date night, dinner with friends/family, or just a nice drink before a night out and about. I truly cannot begin to explain how much I love this restaurant and every experience I've had there. The awards and accolades this establishment (a sincere and lofty term Jewel of the South truly deserves) have been awarded are beyond well earned. Restaurants around the country should aspire to provide the quality of food, service, and overall hospitality Jewel of the South provides on a regular basis. It will continue to be our first and foremost recommendation to anyone we know who is going to New Orleans. Bravo! We shall return!
