One of my favorite brunch spots!! I always get the St.Charles benny here. I highly* recommend getting on that waitlist as soon as you wake up if you want to go there for Sunday brunch. All of the RS restaurants in nola will have a wait. Whether its 45-3 hours. Very much worth the wait! The food didn't take too long to come out, considering the how full the restaurant is during rush hour. I recommend getting a small side as an appetizer before the main dishes, because you're going to be full! 10/10. This place is really chef's kiss and so affordable! A must have. read more

One of the best meals I had in New Orleans. Lots of great brunch choices, friendly servers and kid friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed the Cobb salad with fried chicken and candied bacon. Others at my table liked the grits and biscuits enough to remark that they were delicious. The star was the eggs Benedict three ways-- on top of fried chicken, BBQ, and pulled pork. read more

This was my fist stop after landing in NOLA. We were seated right away with no wait. Skimmed over the menu and ordered cocktails right away. My friend and I both ordered the Boozy Iced Coffee; great choice! As we skimmed the menu we also both chose to get the Peacemaker ( mix and match any two signature benedicts). I went with the hot smoked salmon and the chicken st charles and my friend got the chicken st charles and the eggs cochon. My friend enjoyed both of her selections. I was not the biggest fan of the hot smoked salmon and pushed it to the side BUT hands down the chicken st. Charles was the most amazing choice ever! The friend chicken was perfectly moist and the biscuit it was topped over was super fresh and delicious as well. read more

Heard so many good things about this place so we had to stop in for breakfast. No line & wasn't busy -however my first contact with staff was absolutely horrible & it made me so upset & angry. As said, it wasn't busy & there were so many empty tables-we asked for a booth from the hostess. She walked us over to the smallest table directly in front of the kitchen doors!!! I would give one star for this review but cannot because the rest of the staff were friendly and seemed to enjoy working there. And, the food was delicious so added the stars! read more

This spot gets five stars. My waitress was the bomb.com. I don't know how she ran so fast, and she was so kind! I mixed and matched between a shrimp Benedict and a Cochon Benedict for breakfast. Both were great. The mimosas are fresh! The latte I had was well seasoned with a mix of nutmeg, cinnamon and whipped cream. The Bloody Mary also hit the spot. I know I know, I had too many drinks, but I did want to try all of them haha! This spot is a must try for breakfast in New Orleans! I would definitely like to come back! read more

I came to NOLA for a conference...but really to try the food and Ruby Slipper did not disappoint. The staff are lovely, and represent the warmth of the city of New Orleans well. They have 3 locations within 1.5 miles for a reason. I went to 2/3 locations around my hotel and both were excellent. Depending on if you have a larger party or want to go to a location with a smaller, more intimate feel, you can do so. Not all locations were serving the same menu, but the food quality was the same and thankfully you can get the main dishes at any location. The biscuits are to die for. Making the world a better place, one eggs benny at a time. I'm sure their other menu items are great too, but when we came on a bright Sunday morning, we were instantly drawn by their eggs benedict. As we were making our way there, I used the Yelp live waiting list to put our names down. Just had to wait 10 minutes after getting there. It was quite the popular joint that morning. They have many locations, but this one was closest to where we were going. I'm assuming this is one of their newer locations given the drastically lower number of Yelp reviews. We both got the peacemaker, an option that allows you to mix and match from two different kinds of egg bennies. My favorite was definitely the eggs cochon, which is like a buttery braised pork topping. We also tried the Chicken St. Charles (the classic fried chicken on an eggs benny), shrimp boogaloo (shrimp in a salsa like sauce), and the corned beef (corned beef is corned beef). We also threw in a creamy vanilla spiced latte that was just a little too sweet for my liking. I didn't think eggs benedict would be so filling, but I definitely walked out stuffed. Highly recommend this place for a nice brunch! read more

For once everything in pictures actually looked just as good in real life. The service was amazing. The staff there was so sweet and bubbly. Their energetic personalities were contagious and made the experience there THAT much better. Unfortunately didn't get to snap a picture of the platter I ordered because I devoured it instantaneously! I highly recommend the peacemaker platter. It's your choice of any 2 styles of eggs Benedict. The chicken and bacon ones are the 2 I'd recommend. Both are equally delicious. Don't forget to wash it down with a boozy iced coffee! Luckily I got a 2 in 1 visit.. I was going to make a stop at the French truck coffee shop, but my coffee was from their brand, so it saved me the trip. read more

Recommended this place by a buddy of mine. The food was amazing. I ordered the chicken sliders. I would've preferred them to come with home fries or has browns. But that's whatever. The bacon appetizer was good too. But the star of the day was the French toast bites. Phenomenal. Weird experience though... Our server kept hitting on my sister. Geez, at least pay for her tab if you're going to go after her like that. It wasn't a big deal at all, but such a weird flex. I would 10/10 recommend read more

I was really excited to try this place seeing the ratings. I went in and was seated right away for just one. Host was awesome :). I ordered two drinks and French toast bites and loaded tots. It took about 25 mins for my food to come out, which might be normal for this place but I'm used to breakfast places being faster. I get my French toast bites and I might as well have ordered captain crunch cereal. I mean like maybe they are made that way idk but I'm assuming it's not supposed to be because that shit was like I was chewing a damn rock. The tots were good. During this whole time, I did not get asked once how my food was, if I needed a refill (both of my drinks were empty), how I was doing, anything. The only time I was approached was when I got my drinks and ordered. I had to bring him over to get the check and he still didn't even ask how anything was. read more

Was a little skeptical of this New Orleans brunch chain - but WOW it exceeded my expectations. The expansive menu has something for everyone. I tried the French toast bites, candied bacon, eggs benny, and breakfast sandwich. My only disappointment was that the candied bacon appetizer was a little small, but it was also very sweet so less is more. It seems like their eggs benny is one of the most popular dishes there and I understand why! I sat outside and the ambiance was great :) read more

Definitely worth the wait - make sure to join the Yelp waitlist to save some time. We went on a recent Saturday morning and ended up waiting about 45 minutes for a table for two. It's convenient to grab a drink at the front bar while you wait (check out the Boozy Iced Coffees!) Despite being busy, staff was friendly and efficient. My husband opted for one of the specials of the day which was a Crawfish Bennie and I went for the Migas (hold the tomatoes). The food came out quick, hot and fresh. My husband loved his bennie and my entree was perfect with scrambled eggs, pepperjack and avocado over crispy tortilla chips. We also had a great Bloody Mary with bacon infused vodka and perfectly picked green beans alongside. Definitely a favorite when you are in town! read more

I called the concierge of my hotel and this was one of the places he recommended for a hearty southern breakfast . Upon arrival , we were greeted by our lovely hostess who sat us at the bar and insisted we check out the drink menu as it is "the most important menu". We were happy to find out that our bartender was a native of NYC although she was very hospitable unlike other fellow native New Yorkers . I ordered the Southern Breakfast . It came with eggs (Your choice) , yummy cheesy grits(cheese is optional) , a fresh hot buttermilk biscuit with creamy , sweet and delicious maple butter , and two strips of crispy but thick cut bacon(sooo good). I added on bacon jam to spread on the other side of my huge biscuit . Overall , I rate my experience here with a 10/10 . I highly recommend!! read more

We were looking all over for a quick brunch place and came across this place via Yelp. Tip: you can expect a wait so do yourself a favor and add yourself to the waitlist via Yelp. We did that and got seated as soon as we checked in. He got the trifecta eggs Benedict since that is what they are supposed to be known for. Would not recommend it. The toppings are are catchy thing for their menu, since one was pulled pork, one fried chicken, and one shrimp. But the flavors were mediocre and they were served on top of very hard biscuits. Seriously, it will take some muscles to cut through that biscuit. I got the banana foster French toast. That was way better and I would suggest that much more. My fiancé who hates sweet breakfast even enjoyed it. Overall, based on the items we got, this place seemed to be a flashy tourist spot. Would I come back here again? Probably not. read more

I live the old 80's/90's theme and decor. Such a great throwback. We ordered 2 drip coffees (you get them in a to-go cups but you can get free refills), and the Grand Slam McMuffin. Both were great. Wish the sandwiches were bigger for the price you pay. $11.50 for a breakfast sandwich is pretty steep, but it's the price you pay considering everything is homemade. We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! When it comes to breakfast and brunch spots in New Orleans, The Ruby Slipper on 204 Decatur is a true standout. As someone who has had their fair share of eggs benedicts, I can confidently say that this charming establishment delivers a dining experience that is nothing short of extraordinary. One of the highlights at The Ruby Slipper is their exceptional eggs benedicts. In particular, the Trifecta featuring three different variations of this classic dish left me in awe. Each benedict surpassed the last in terms of flavor and execution. The pièce de résistance was undoubtedly the perfect hollandaise sauce that graced each of the eggs. Its velvety texture and rich flavor elevated every bite to new heights of indulgence. But let's talk about the seafood. The Gulf shrimp benedict showcased the freshest, most succulent shrimp I have ever tasted. Their natural sweetness shone through, perfectly complementing the other components of the dish. And the fried chicken benedict? Well, the crispy chicken atop the benedict was a revelation. Its golden exterior gave way to juicy and tender meat, adding a delightful twist to this breakfast classic. What truly sets The Ruby Slipper apart is their unparalleled execution and ability to weave a captivating culinary tale through their dishes. The attention to detail is evident in every bite. The sauce accompanying the benedicts was flawlessly emulsified, striking the perfect balance of richness and tanginess. And let's not forget about the poached eggs--the yolks were a work of art, boasting an impeccable "jammy" consistency that added an extra layer of decadence. During my visit, my wife had the fried chicken and French toast dish. This creation showcased the restaurant's creativity and culinary prowess. The execution was flawless, and the French toast had a unique twist reminiscent of panzanella or French toast croutons. It was a delightful departure from the ordinary, leaving a lasting impression on our palates. The Ruby Slipper not only excels in culinary innovation but also provides impeccable service. The staff's attention to detail and genuine passion for their craft is evident from the moment you step through the door. The servers are knowledgeable, friendly, and go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. If you find yourself in the vibrant city of New Orleans, a visit to The Ruby Slipper is an absolute must. This gem of a restaurant seamlessly combines creativity, flawless execution, and exceptional service. Whether you're a local or a visitor, The Ruby Slipper is sure to leave an indelible mark on your culinary journey. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. read more

Title: A Culinary Gem with a Dash of Quirk: Ruby Slipper Cafe Review Nestled in the heart of New Orleans , Louisiana the Ruby Slipper Cafe offers a tantalizing fusion of flavors and a memorable dining experience that captures the essence of Southern cuisine. During a recent visit, I had the pleasure of indulging in their renowned biscuits and gravy, a dish that left an indelible mark on my taste buds. The biscuits and gravy at Ruby Slipper Cafe are a triumph of culinary artistry. The biscuits, baked to perfection, boasted a delicate balance of flakiness and tenderness. Paired with a rich and flavorful gravy that was a symphony of savory notes, this dish provided a hearty and comforting culinary encounter. The marriage of textures and taste was a true testament to the kitchen's dedication to quality and creativity. While the cuisine was undeniably a highlight, the service left something to be desired. Our waiter, regrettably, fell short of delivering the kind of attentive and polished service one might expect from an establishment of this caliber. However, amidst this minor setback, a shining star emerged in the form of Brian, a dishwasher with an infectious sense of humor. His presence injected a delightful touch of levity into the dining experience, turning what could have been a lackluster encounter into an unforgettable one. Brian's wit and charm resonated with patrons and provided a refreshing and unexpected layer of entertainment. In summary, the Ruby Slipper Cafe exudes an undeniable charm with its delectable dishes and quirky personalities. While the waiter's service left room for improvement, the true gem of the visit was the culinary artistry that graced our table. Furthermore, the unexpected joy brought forth by dishwasher Brian added an unexpected and memorable twist to our dining adventure. For those seeking a blend of Southern comfort food and a touch of lighthearted amusement, the Ruby Slipper Cafe is a destination well worth exploring. read more

As a devoted fan of the Ruby family, my expectations were sky-high when I stepped into the Ruby Slipper Cafe in New Orleans after my delightful experiences at their sister restaurant, Ruby Sunrise in Charleston, SC. I'm thrilled to report that the Ruby Slipper not only met but exceeded those expectations, firmly establishing itself as a #ThatBrunchLife essential. From the moment I walked in, the warmth of Southern hospitality enveloped me. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and an eagerness to make my dining experience memorable. The atmosphere was a cozy embrace, with a vibrant yet comforting decor that paid homage to the soul of New Orleans. The menu was a love letter to Southern cuisine with an innovative twist. Each dish I tried was a masterpiece, but the standout was their signature Eggs Cochon - a decadent masterpiece of slow-cooked apple-braised pork debris over a biscuit, topped with perfectly poached eggs and hollandaise. It was a symphony of flavors that danced harmoniously on the palate. Comparing it to Ruby Sunrise in Charleston, where the shrimp and grits reign supreme, the Ruby Slipper holds its own with distinctive flair and an unmistakable New Orleans charm. It's clear that both establishments share a commitment to quality, flavor, and an unforgettable dining experience. In every aspect, from the attentive service to the mouthwatering cuisine, the Ruby Slipper Cafe is a beacon of #ThatBrunchLife and Southern hospitality. Whether you're a local or just passing through, missing out on this gem would be a culinary crime. The Ruby Slipper isn't just a restaurant; it's a celebration of the spirit of the South, and I can't wait to return. read more

While visiting the Big Easy during Mardi Gras, I was in the mood for brunch. After visiting the Ruby Slipper a couple of times, knew it was time to go back. The Decatur location was closest to me & glad I went. There was a line & I was greeted at the host stand by Stanley. Stanley gladly took my name but I asked if there happen to be a spot at the bar for just one. He turned around & told me to wait a couple of minutes as he cleared me a spot. Sat me down quick with a smile. Was immediately acknowledged by one of the bartenders saying they would be right with me. Kelli & Jaylynn were working that day. Started my day with an Irish coffee & it truly hit the spot. It did take a moment for me to decide, but didn't feel rushed. Yes, Kelli & Jaylynn checked on me, but only to see if I was ready & encouraged me to take my time. After a couple of moment, I chose the southern breakfast. It was the fried green tomato that sold me. Yes, it was simple, but extremely satisfying. And, that fried green tomato, was better than expected. The service at The Ruby Slipper was outstanding. Our waiter, a terrific young gentleman, was attentive, professional, and stayed on his toes to make sure we had everything we needed. The decor was true to the restaurant's name--fun, vibrant, and welcoming. Other patrons were also very friendly, adding to the warm atmosphere. As for the food, I really enjoyed the Chicken Benedict--it was flavorful and satisfying. However, the Shrimp Benedict was a bit of a letdown, as it only came with three small shrimp, which felt underwhelming. My friend ordered the Salmon Omelette with grits and a biscuit, and they said it was absolutely delicious. Here's how we rated the dishes: Chicken Biscuit: 9/10 Shrimp Biscuit: 6/10 Salmon Omelette Plate: 9/10 Overall, while the service and ambiance were great, the menu didn't quite match my personal preferences--mainly because I don't eat pork, and I found the non-pork options somewhat limited. I recently dined at Ruby Slipper and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience. Although the food preparation took a while, the wait was well worth it as the food was absolutely delicious. From the appetizers to the entrees, every dish was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. I would highly recommend the food here. While the drinks were average, they were advertised as award-winning and amazing, which was a bit disappointing. However, this was a minor setback in an otherwise great dining experience. I was impressed with how easy it was to make a reservation and while the waitlist said it would be an hour, I only had to wait 30 minutes before being seated. The staff was nice and attentive, making sure my dining experience was enjoyable. Ruby Slipper on Decatur Street is a fantastic spot for a hearty, Southern-inspired breakfast or brunch. The warm, lively atmosphere immediately sets the tone for a great dining experience, and the menu is full of indulgent options that showcase New Orleans flair. I came to New Orleans for a quick trip and was craving a good breakfast. After seeing glowing reviews on Yelp, TikTok, and hearing personal recommendations, I thought Ruby Slipper would be a great choice. However, I have to say, I was left a bit underwhelmed. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the diverse dining scene in Houston, but Ruby Slipper felt extremely basic and average. We ordered several things off the menu, and honestly, nothing really stood out. There was nothing particularly unique or memorable about any of the dishes we tried. It was all fine, but not impressive by any means. If you're in the mood for a quick, no-frills breakfast, Ruby Slipper could work, but there are definitely better and more unique breakfast spots around New Orleans that I'd recommend exploring. The food here just didn't offer anything special to make it stand out in a city known for its incredible food scene. read more

Ruby Slipper is a cute and cozy brunch spot with a Creole fusion twist, and overall, it was a great experience! I started with a creamy vanilla latte topped with nutmeg and whipped cream, which was delicious--just a bit sweeter than I usually prefer, but still really well made. For my main dish, I had the French toast with fried chicken, strawberries, and maple syrup. The flavors worked beautifully together, but it was definitely a heavy dish, and I wish there had been something like whipped cream or a light topping to balance it out. We also tried the catfish with grits, which was another solid choice. Overall, Ruby Slipper is a great spot for brunch, but just know that the dishes lean toward the rich and indulgent side. The Ruby Slipper Cafe is a breakfast and lunch spot in the heart of downtown. They have amazing food and fast service, so you can't go wrong with this place! They serve everything from omelets to waffles, and they're all made fresh right in front of you. The coffee is great as well--they use beans from local roasters, which makes it even more special. The food is very filling, so I recommend ordering one of their sandwiches or salads if you're looking for something lighter. But if you want something that will fill up your entire stomach, then this is definitely the place for you! The only downside? I thought I was legit gonna need the Tabasco because, guys, let's be real- hollindaise can be a little underwhelming from place to place. But the put love in there from the creamy hollindaise to the fluffy, golden biscuit it all sits on. Best part? It didn't have no pork on it! you follow me & my reveiws ya'll know i don't do anybody's pig anything. *chef kiss* The outta line for giving this portion size. I'm tryna eat a little here & there- they filled butt up. Lol i see how it is!! Service, service, service. Jen was my server. She took really good care of me. For a tiny hole in the wall- I can't say I've had better. (It gave chickfila vibes.) Super pleasant, energetic vibes, the place legit caters to families, familes with small children, large groups. All of thoose where in there when I was in there. I had no complaints. A++++
