Ruby Slipper is our daughters favorite so we always visit when in town! They have a couple locations so check and make sure they are still open when visiting. I have celiac so gluten free locations are a dime a dozen in the Quarter..... the Ruby Slipper fits the bill..... with the understanding cross contamination is always a risk. Grilled Fish St. Peter was my choice. The rest of the family ordered the classics! We did have to wait a while and that was with our name on the waiting list. We were originally told 25-40 minutes but that turned into a 55 minute wait. Call ahead to get your name on the list just in case. Thankfully they had some outdoor seating and we were able to get a coffee from the bar while we waited. Our food was wonderful! The grits super creamy and paired perfectly with our meals. All plates were cleaned and the wonderful soft thick napkins used! KK our server was sweet and thoughtful! We were finishing up and wanted more tea so she brewed some more and brought it out in to go cups for us! Thanks Ruby Slipper for a wonderful meal to get us going through the afternoon! read more

The server and food was horrible Server (lauren) or whatever her name was - followed us to our car to bitch us out because our food had been cold, late and the second round of food was no better all in front of my six year old grandchild never again! medium well is not medium rare! never again and manager mentioned she was their better server! hmmm read more

Expect to wait a very long time before being seated, this restaurant is super popular and even their other locations are extremely packed as well. The service is good. We had a nice server who took care of us. I ordered the sweet heat chicken and French toast bites, which were good but they were not as saucy and fully breaded how I expected it to be. Also, I felt like the French toast sticks were a little Hard or maybe even dry... by no means was it bad or not tasty I think it could have been better though. read more

I really enjoy their food, but the French Quarter location near the Sheraton was not as good at the one on Burgundy. If you want that hustle and bustle feel with a long wait, go to the French Quarter. I recommend the biscuits I got from the Burgundy location and gravy, but I wasn't as impressed with the shrimp and grits from the French Quarter location. read more

Food was great service was great....foos was out quickly despite it being a packed restaurant and we never saw the bottom of our glasses

We went here twice on our trip, so that's saying something. Absolutely get the sweet heat chicken and French toast bites! It was the best thing we tried! Eggs Benedict was good. The One tomato-Two tomato eggs benedict made me wish I just got a whole plate of fried green tomatoes. Their spring time specials menu is worth the look. Got the lemon-blueberry stuffed French toast, and the pride mimosa flight, yum! The bloody Mary's also delicious. Don't let a line deter you, it moves quickly. The staff is amazing! read more

We go to NOLA a lot. Breakfast every time is at Ruby Slipper! Always great food and service.

This place is amazing. The food is so flavorful and the staff is so polite. I had the biscuits and gravy and the cold brew. read more

This is the place to have brunch and a mimosa. The Southern Breakfast was flavorful and our blood orange mimosas were perfect. I've found most servers in NOLA are surly, probably from tourist fatigue. We had many friendly support staff here yet our server was all business. Worth the wait. Outdoor seating is as nice as indoor. read more

This place is so amazing that I went here for 2 breakfasts during my 4 days in New Orleans, lol! The service is also great! Onto the food! So my first time here, I was tempted by so many plates, but I finally decided on the Chicken St. Charles, which is fried chicken eggs Benedict. Let me tell you, not only is this dish incredible, it was also one of the best dishes I had during my stay in NOLA, which is saying a lot! It was so incredibly flavorful, you must try it! And not to mention, my side of grits were possibly the best grits I've ever had! The second time I came here, I decided to go with the Southern Breakfast, which was a huge plate of goodness! My server asked if I wanted some shredded cheddar in my grits. I'd hadn't had that before, and it was actually quite delicious. It wound up being the highlight of the dish. As far as wait times, on weekends, you're going to want to make a reservation. The second time I came in was on a Tuesday morning, and I got a table immediately. All in all, I had 2 amazing meals here, and would love to come again the next time I visit the city! read more

Wow! This place was recommended and it was well worth the wait. If you can, go online and do the waitlist because there is always a line but there is a reason! The atmosphere is fun and they have tons of drink options including local coffee. The food was excellent and our server Taylor was amazing! Went in with my girls and we all enjoyed our food. We will definitely be back!!!! Picture is the hot smoked salmon omelette and it was amazing! read more

got a recommendation from a local to come here for breakfast. The atmosphere is warm, the service we received from the wait staff was all friendly. I tried the southern breakfast, I was intrigued by the "fried green tomato" but it also comes with bacon, 2 eggs, a huge fluffy & warm biscuit and grits. Solid 5/5. I'm not big on grits, but the rest was tasty. I tried the mimosa & it was a good portion size, strong, and yummy. 5/5 Others at my table ordered the iced coffee & said it was delicious. Fair prices. Fast service. I would come by again if visiting the city read more

I happened to be walking by and saw the long line of folks waiting for a table. I was alone and was immediately able to get a seat at the bar. I ordered the Ruby Mimosa (regular mimosa with a splash of pomegranate juice), which was tasty, but could've been a little stronger. For breakfast I ordered the shrimp and grits. It took a long time for my food to come (~35 minutes). Ms. GG, the bartender, was great. She checked in on me, and when she realized my food was taking too long, she went back into the kitchen herself to see what was going on! When my food finally came out, the shrimp and grits were worth the wait. I finished it all! The biscuit was tasty light and fluffy but I was so full from the shrimp and grits that I couldn't take more than a couple of bites. The lady sitting next to me, had some pancakes. That smelled delicious. I would eat here again. read more

Jaelyn was by far the best bartender around. She was so friendly and welcoming. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

This place is solid and wonderful. You want breakfast, you can't go wrong with RSC. Similar to the larger restaurant on Canal only smaller and longer wait times. They do have a waitlist that you can use to add you name as you're walking over through the yelp app. It works perfectly! Coffee is to die for. Service is awesome. Food is fantastic. What else would you want when your all night celebrating results in late brunch. Great drinks too. Ah, I need to go back. Too bad I don't live there to frequent more regularly. read more

It was a 1.5 hour wait, but once you're in there it's your time to shine. Their pancakes are the size of a dinner plate so be careful of what you ask for. Luckily I only asked for one and I still took it back to the hotel for later. Plus they have daily flavor specials. The pig candy bacon is a combination of saltiness and sweetness, and since it's bacon you couldn't ask for anything else. The biscuits are homemade and about the size of an average person's hand. Very filling since I could only eat half of it. I'm country so my only drawback was that my cheese was on top of the eggs instead of scrambled with the eggs. But the hot creamy grits took care of that real quick. It was definitely worth the wait to get in, and you're not rushed once you're seated. Our server Kristen was great, very attentive and her NY accent will make you miss watching the Sopranos all over again. read more

3rd visit did not disappoint. When checking with the hostess, we were told our wait would be about 30 minutes but we were sat in 5. Food was great! Got the tacos again and sweet heat chicken with French toast which were really good. I tried the chicken sandwich and was not disappointed! Omelette was good as well. The candied bacon was also really good (a sweet taste if that's what you like!) The grits were not really flavorful, but I always have to get a biscuit on the side when I come.. they are so good! As for the drinks, the morning margarita was the best! The boozy coffee was a little on the strong side and the pomegranate drink was okay as well (it had some fizz as well.) Good visit overall! read more

There are many locations around New Orleans. Some locations are busier than others. They can accommodate groups of various sizes. I was there with a group of 11 people. Orders were taken in a timely manner and our food did not take long to be prepared. I ordered the sweet heat chicken and French toast bites with a Ruby mimosa and Irish coffee. I enjoyed the food so much that I came back the next day for breakfast. read more

Our server - Ruby - was great! I had the southern breakfast, which was very good. Cute atmosphere.

The used to be my all time favorite place. I went to the one on Decatur street yesterday and I was really disappointed. I really love this atmosphere and the food used to be amazing. This last visit I had the price maker as I always do. Fried chicken and cochon Mia my go to. The biscuits were chewy like they had been sitting under a heat lamp and the eggs were over cooked. The yokes were hard (like eating a hard boiled egg) not that gooey almost runny texture you would expect from poached eggs. They have clearly cut back on portioning as well. That isn't a huge deal because it is plenty of food for most humans but just feels like less value ...especially since the prices are not cheap. Anyway, I really hope they improve. This won't be my last trip to the ruby slipper but I am getting discouraged for sure. read more

First time here and it was delicious!!!! I got the shrimp and grits with a biscuit. The shrimp and grits are different here though. It's a butter/oil-base sauce versus a cream base sauce so it was different but very good. The biscuit was very good along with the honey butter to go along with it. My daughter got the cinnamon pancakes and OMG... I don't know how they do it but the pancakes are soft on the inside with a nice light crispiness on the outside with a cream cheese drizzle on top that is Devine, so good!! Tasted like a churro pancake. Definitely give this place a try it's worth it! Service was good and ambiance was light and casual. read more

Eggs Cochon and Chicken St Charles never disappoints! Great drinks as well. The service is always is above and beyond!

I love my breakfast... it is my favorite! I feel the restaurant itself was very clean, I liked reading what they had on the walls. The staff was so kind, and cheerful. I was hoping to have the best breakfast, Maybe my expectations were very high being in New Orleans, and reading the prior reviews. None of the food came out hot, it was like it sat in the back for 5-10 min before being served. The French toast was very light and airy which was nice I feel like hot it had the potential to be delicious. The chicken had good flavor and was meaty. The biscuits and Gravy for me fell short in every way. It was cold, there was not a lot of gravy, no flavor. I thought being in the south it would be AMAZING. Maybe it was a one off day. read more

The food was amazing and fresh. I did not like the restaurant's location: it's surrounded by boarded buildings and homelessness.
