I'm genuinely shocked at how much this place has gone down the drain. It's literally at the bottom of the barrel at this point. I came here consistently for such a long time but they keep "selling" the place to new owners. It went from Ruby Nails, to Lilac Nails, to now Glow Nails in an insanely short timeframe. The prices of services provided keeps going up and up and the quality of the work and the customer service is going in a downward spiral to a fiery hell. It's such a shame. I stopped coming here months ago when Lilit and Juli left and I made the HUGE mistake of coming in today for an emergency mani/pedi. They have only one person here and neither one of us speak each other's language. She doesn't speak English and I don't speak Armenian/Russian. I did not receive anything I asked for since no one else is here to help. I asked for my gel x to be removed so that I can get a fresh new gel manicure. They were not removed. I asked for a specific design. I definitely did not receive said design. Not even close. I asked for a specific color from the color book handed to me for my pedicure only for it not to be available, but I suspect the young lady helping me just couldn't find it tbh. Important to mention that during the pedicure I literally had to levitate my legs in the air because the foot stool wasn't staying when i placed the weight of my foot on it, which made it slide back every two seconds. She tried to hold it with her knees and pushed it back constantly so it would stay in place and stop sliding but yeah obviously that didn't work. I'm not kidding when I say my thighs and lower abs are gonna be sore because of it. She kept putting the blue light machine right on the toes, too, which would mess up the polish. She had to start over several times. You read that right. Start over. Several times. I am the most patient person in the world and this will not matter to me a year from now so I did not make an extra effort to get mad and stop her (as if I could magically start speaking Armenian/Russian anyway). This is by far the worst nail salon experience i've ever had. The young lady was so sweet but she has NO business being here by herself with no help and no way to communicate effectively with clients. To her credit, she attempted to use Google translate but none of it made sense. It was getting completely lost in translation. All in all it took 3 hours to finish my services and it was a disaster every second of it. It then took an additional 15 minutes to make my payment because she was on the phone with the owner (I presume) to get help with accepting my form of payment. Some people just don't deserve a business-- a good business person would not allow this to happen. How is this going to be sustainable in client retention? It just feels like a cash grab for these people, no type of passion for the business aside from money and it shows. read more

Let me start by saying that I've never been happier with a nail salon before. Today was my second time coming to Ruby Nails and my experience was just as wonderful as the first. The best thing about this salon is that the technicians really take their time and are extremely detail orientated. This, to me is extremely important. My mani and pedi have come out perfectly every time. They do appointments only I believe, and I really appreciate this because they don't try to cram as many customers in even if it means making their appointments wait. So, this really shows that they care about their customers. They also don't rush through their work, and take their time to make sure their work is of good quality. My last gel mani lasted me 3 weeks. I've never had a mani last this long before. I will continue coming here as long as they keep up the great work. Hallelujah!! Finally, I think I found the best nail salon in LA (or at least this side of LA and San Fernando Valley) after 20 years of searching & trying. I alreay tried Ruby Nail for 3 gel manicures and 3 pedicures, so my review is firm. I originally went to Ruby Nail to try with Ruby, the owner who seem to do great designs. She wasn't available due to her maternity leave. Sad. But the 3 ladies- Maya, Jennifer, Namu?(young lady I just remember a part of her name)- who work at Ruby Nail seem to be all nice and sweet, caring for customers. I have been getting my nails done by Maya, and I am happy with her. She has good sense, good skills, good manner, good personality, and much more. I think me & Maya together make a good team creating beautiful nail works. First time I went she/they took extra time beyond their closing hour to finish my nails without rushing or uncomfortable feeling. Oh also, they do carry nice lines of quality products, and their prices are not bad at all compared to some of LA salons who ripped your heart off. I am SO GLAD I found Ruby Nail in Glendale! this is a lengthy review but these are my updated honest opinion i was a regular at this nail salon & went every month for about 1-2yrs, took a break for awhile & found out that ruby sold the business, i was hesitant to go back, i expected the same type of service that i've been getting here, i so badly wanted to like this place, but i dont think i'm going back at all i came in with natural clean nails, no previous nail polish or anything, but i ended up spending 2.5hrs just to get a regular pedicure & regular gel manicure (no design), it usually takes 1.5hrs for me to get this done with my regular guy (who wasn't available at the time) & he does it with designs i'm not sure if the girl (didnt introduce herself) who did my nails was new or didn't know much about working on nails yet, usually when i go to a nail salon, i'm asked to soak my hands & feet in the warm water already to soften up the cuticles, this girl started filing my nails already without soaking first, she filed my nail beds on both hands & feet with the electric file, which is something new that i never seen anyone do on my nails specially that i dont even have polish on, why was she taking layers off my natural nails?? that was a red flag to me already, she also cut my toe nails with giant nail nippers & not a proper nail cutter! i was actually scared that she was going to break my nail coz she was struggling, my nails aren't even thick! i also felt that she cut too much on the sides of my big toe nail since whenever i put pressure on it, it was uncomfortable, she also nicked me twice & i didn't receive any apology, one on my toe & one on my finger, my finger bled a lot when she nicked it that she had to use the green liquid styptic skin protector solution on it, not sure if she thought i wouldnt notice it or what! when she was working on putting color on my toe nails, she didn't put a base coat first, this was a shock to me since ALL nail salons i've been to always starts with a base coat before putting any color on, but this girl put color on straight on my nails the gel nails didn't last for long as well, it started chipping on the 5th day that i had it done, mind you that i was on vacation & was not even washing any dishes or what not, i was hoping it was going to last at least 2 weeks, but i even had to use my friend's nail glue for her press on nails for my nails to last the entire length of my vacation i am so disappointed with the service here, the owner was nice & they worked with finding the color i want so 1 star for that, but otherwise they need to either hire better nail technicians or hire someone who actually knows how to do nails or better educate whoever they're hiring, i wasn't compensated for the nail tech making me bleed all over the place & i received no apology from her or the owner either, i should have done my own nails at home to be honest coz i would have done it quicker myself, i thought i was saving some time by coming here, but instead i came out with my time being wasted & having wounds on my toes & fingers read more

When I heard my regular nail tech, Lilit moved to Ruby Nail Spa, I didn't hesitate to follow her! It was my first visit here today since she made the move & although it is much smaller than the old nail spa I used to go to, the pink theme is so cute & welcoming! The staff are also very friendly & accommodating! I was able to book an appointment with Lilit the night before & was seated right away when I arrived. They do not take walk-ins the door was locked and when they answered it was someone unfamiliar to me who just asked if I was the 12:30 client. If there's a procrastinator... it's probably me. I waited til one day before I had to fly out of the country for a wedding to get my nails done. It was hard to choose which nail salon to go to as there are so many in Glendale and all of them have good and bad reviews. Ruby Nail was one that popped up and I had it bookmarked for about a week. It didn't have much reviews and the ones it did have were very good but the day before I wanted to come I saw that a lot of reviews got filtered so that made me worried. Is this a real place and does she actually do good nails?? I almost picked a different place but decided to chance it and if this place stinks I would never come back. I called and made an appointment and then came. On the outside it doesn't look like anything out of the ordinary but the inside is soo cute. It reminded me of a nail salon I would go to in Asia. Ruby greeted me and got to business. She also gave me water and a stool to put my bag. I got my first dip powder manicure. $40 My friend who gets her dip powder done in Northern California raves about it because in Boston it's not really a thing .... I had no clue what to expect but it was nice to not have to stick my hands in a UV machine as I feel like it gives me cancer lol. It took almost an hour but my nails came out really pretty! She used a new file and the square box thing that they use on your nails so it's a very clean place. I also checked out the bathroom and there is hello kitty toilet paper!!!! I'm a hello kitty fan so that was +1 in my book. Anyways this place is new only 3 weeks old so very new! I don't want to share with anyone else cause I want to come the day I want without struggles with making an appointment but I do want her to succeed so she sticks around so I'm sharing my gem with you. Happy to have found a place I can get a simple monthly mani/pedi as I'm normally simple and save the fancy stuff for big events like weddings or vacations. It's been a week and my nails are still looking good *2 weeks update -After two weeks (dip powder) - my hair does get caught at end of nails (where cuticles are) when I push my hair back with my hands since it's growing out. I was really excited to try this place, but it fell short of my expectations. The ombre I asked for was subtle with the transition between colors seamless and smooth. Unfortunately, that's not how it turned out. The blending isn't very good, please see pictures as proof. The first red flag was when she dipped my nails into the dipping powder. I've read that you should leave the salon and never come back if you see a nail tech doing this because of how unhygenic and unsanitary it is for multiple clients to be dipping their nails in the same pot. I also think I was overcharged since it came out to $85 and every review for this place don't go above $60. Maybe it was because there was no one else in the salon? Maybe that was the first red flag. The door is always locked. The 'open' sign is off. And it looks like no one is inside but they are open. The first time I came for a manicure and pedicure. I asked upon appointment if it could be done at the same time. And a lady over the phone confirmed it. At the time I was soaking another customer came and it appeared she had an appointment at the same time. Well, mistakes happen so I didn't mind. The second time I had mani&pedi at the same time as I requested. The third time one of the technicians was busy with another customer so my pedicure started 45 minutes later than it was supposed to be. I was upset. Forth time the situation didn't change. I requested a manicure and pedicure at the same time and 6 started 30 minutes later. What's wrong with you? I told Irena she shouldn't make an appointment at a time when technicians are busy and can't finish the previous customer. I received the response 'Nothing is wrong that we are late'. Well... everything is wrong. You respect your needs much more than mine. And I didn't expect you to do it intentionally. The technicians were great, no complaints, but I'm not bringing money to someone who doesn't respect me. read more

First, they set me down, made me wait, and told me that they couldn't take me because they made a mistake by thinking that I made an appointment.
