I was a loyal customer of this dry cleaner for nearly four years, which makes this experience especially disappointing. On May 30, I dropped off a new pair of pants to be hemmed. When I returned to pick them up, I was given someone else's pants, which I promptly returned. My own pants were never located. Since then, I have repeatedly tried to resolve the issue. Rather than replacing the pants or refunding the hemming charge for a service performed on an item that was never returned to me, I was told I needed to provide proof of purchase. Because I paid cash, I no longer had a receipt, although I did provide the product information, style number, size, and current retail price to make replacement as easy as possible. Even if I had bought the pants two years ago and did not have a receipt, that does not change the fact that they lost a customer's property. What was most disappointing was how the situation was handled. Instead of working toward a reasonable resolution, communication became increasingly hostile. I was spoken to disrespectfully, accused of changing my story, and even had the police threatened over an unrelated payment issue that was immediately resolved. At one point, I was told she was a millionaire and she insulted me, insinuating that I was poor and only needed the money for my rent because I asked her to replace the pants she lost. Despite an agreement that the pants would be replaced if they did not resurface after two weeks, that commitment was never honored. At the end of the day, the facts are simple: my pants were lost while in the dry cleaner's possession, I was charged for hemming a pair of pants I never received back, and over a month later the issue still has not been resolved. I have since switched to Old Town Valet Cleaners and have had an excellent experience. Their pricing has been more transparent, their communication has been consistent, and their customer service has been significantly better. I came in to pick up my clothes, she couldn't find them, and then told me I probably went to the other dry cleaner and that she's never seen my dress in her life. Completely lying to me and trying to gaslight me into thinking I never dropped my dress off even thought she had it logged on her computer. It was actually insane. BEWARE!!! I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this Royale dry cleaner and tailor. I went in to get two dresses hemmed for a wedding in Cabo and asked for a quote on the cost. The owner visibly became upset by that question refused to provide one and, when I expressed that a quote would be helpful, she began to verbally harass me and even told me to "do it myself." Her unprofessionalism and hostile demeanor made me feel unsafe. I later discovered that I had mistakenly visited the wrong establishment and had intended to go to Wells Cleaners right next door, which I've had positive experiences with in the past. DO NOT BRING YOUR CLOTHES HERE. Shoddy work and no accountability for their mistakes. On my first and only time here, I brought 3 brand new (tags still on) suit jackets and 2 pairs of pants in to be tailored by Isabella. I asked for specific lengths: 1 3/4" off the sleeves of each jacket and 2.5" off the hem of the pants. On the eve of a big work trip, I received back 2 suit jackets and 3 pairs of pants. The hemming was terrible and falling apart already. Instead of dealing with the buttons on the jacket sleeves. They were sewn shut, with the buttons overlapping. Even worse, all the cuts were twice as much as asked for. I now look like an overgrown child in fraying BRAND NEW suits. I made the huge mistake of picking these up the morning that I left the state for the 3-week work trip and putting them straight into my bag without checking until later. (I'm an attorney and need to look presentable in my suits). I took time out of my trip to take the jackets to another tailor, but they effectively told me it was unsalvageable. I called Isabella to let her know, assuming we could handle this amicably. I calmly explained the situation. She first pretended she didn't remember and then immediately afterward SCREAMED at me that (1) I brought in 3 jackets and not 3 pants (which I know is true, but does not help the fact that I received 3 pairs of pants and NOT 3 jackets back- sorry to whoever is now missing a pair of pants, I hope you like my jacket); (2) that I didn't try on the clothes in store so she couldn't possibly know how much to cut (I gave specific instructions on length and it is clear from the comparison of the 'tailored' pieces to other new versions I had that the cuts were double and nearly triple the requested length). She also insisted that she cleaned the dog hair off them without charging (true but irrelevant). She then yelled at me to bring the clothes back in so she could show me the cut scraps (ha!) but not today because she's busy (and she was well aware I was out of town). She hung up on me, multiple times, when I tried to call back. On the last call, I calmly informed her that I had no choice but to have another tailor correct the work and if it could not be corrected then I would purchase new ones. She screamed at me "NOT MY PROBLEM", hung up, and then ignored my calls. Not even an offer to refund for the terrible work, let alone the expense of 2-3 new suits. I was overly nice to her because I liked her when I first met and have close friends who own dry cleaners so tend to be very sympathetic to the challenges of running this business, but this experience and her response was pretty much unacceptable. Came here the other day for a quick drying cleaning service on my work clothes. Flew from out of town for a conference and was hesitant to drop off my clothes to a complete stranger. First impression, Isabella was very friendly and welcoming and spoke fluent English. She was able to answer all questions and was able to provide me with exceptional service! Clothes came back spot clean and pressed professionally. Very reasonably priced too. She was very helpful and fulfilled her promises and affirmed me that everything was going to be done on a timely manner. I will be coming back here everytime I come to Chicago for a conference. Grace is awesome!! She's always super nice and takes really good care of me. She makes sure all my clothes are lint free and they always take off the tickets, which is a timesaver! AWFUL experience! I took in a dress to be shortened on a Monday morning and requested it be completed by Wednesday at 5pm. The dress is a super simple style and is polyester. The Woman there said "no problem" to my timing, marked the dress after I tried it on and everything was set. Then Wednesday at 4:30 I come to pick up the dress and she told me she JUST DIDN'T DO IT.... and was "so sorry". I had a wedding (I was a bridesmaid) that weekend but a 7pm flight that Wednesday. She really screwed me over and didn't even bother to call. If you take in anything to be altered that is time sensitive, I would recommend checking their work by calling or stopping in the day before- otherwise, you may get an "I'm sorry" with a shoulder shrug. read more

I was visiting from the burbs to attend an event and a friend of mine I was staying with recommended this cleaners to make an urgent adjustment on my dress. I didn't think it was possible considering that they were closing in about an hour. Sure enough, the lady that greeted me said she'd take care of it, after explaining my dress melt-down. Despite how busy she was, she made the time to measure me and swiftly correct the dress to my size. She rescued me from a great disaster. This is REAL customer service. The adjustment was immaculate. Wow! I had a last minute invite to a ball-like event and needed to buy a dress asap. That morning I found one. I needed it dry-cleaned and hemmed, as I am really short. I did not think it was possible. Isabel made it happen. She did a superb job with the dress. I could not be more happier. She guranteed it was be finished in time for my event. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE I bought a $300 blouse and brought it in with a SMALL spot on the front. When I picked it up it looked like bleach had been spilled all over the back of it. No where near where my spot was. There are white spots all over my turquoise blouse. I wish I could post a picture! I have showed all my friends and they are appalled. What was more appalling was the customer service. When I pointed out all the spots to them and asked what happened they pretended that I brought it in like that! They also claimed that they didn't even clean it and only pressed it. I went in 3 different times to talk to the manager and complain and each time received terrible customer service. They would ignore me and once even tried shutting down the shop while I was inside. After being there for 30 minutes she finally decided she would give me $100 in drycleaning. I obviously did not accept because I NEVER would want to bring my clothes there and also because my top was 3 times that much! The fact that they couldn't own up and admit to their mistake was very disappointing. I don't want anyone to have to go through what I went through. I should have done my research before just picking the closest drycleaner. Now I have a $300 top that I got to wear once before it was destroyed. I am very disappointed with this dry cleaners--every time I have gone in, I feel like they are ripping me off. They are not up front about prices. Multiple times I have gone in and they have charged me more for dresses, sweaters, etc., than they initially said. When I have tried to ask about the prices, they don't understand and claim they are giving me a discount, even though the total price is more than what it should have been. Being nice can only get you so far. This dry cleaners is really close to my house, but I will not be going back here again. There are many other dry cleaners in this area. read more

I was dog sitting last month for my neighbor. The dog had a habit of sleeping in the laundry basket and he sheds like crazy. I didn't think it was a big deal since the clothes had to be washed until... after the wash, the dog hair didn't come off!!! I was furious. I ended up taking the load of laundry to my dry cleaner and told them my situation. They were pretty confident about getting the hair off. I was skeptical but wanted to give them a shot. I picked up my clothes and there was no sign of hair!!! I was so relieved. Royale dry cleaners did an awesome job. Bravo~ read more

I will NEVER step foot in this Cleaners again. My coat is ruined!!! I am not one to write reviews, but this cleaners absolutely ruined a dress coat I had purchased from Nordstrom. I was on the verge of tears when I went into pick it up...I thought it was the wrong coat they were giving me. The owners gave me such a hard time, and wanted me to pay for the coat. I refused the $30 they were going to charge me for the coat, and I still regret paying for the other pieces I had dry cleaned with the order. read more
