Amazing!! Super responsive when communicating via Yelp. Very fast tailoring service, and it fit perfectly when I came to pick it up! I dropped it off on a Tuesday and it was ready by Friday. They were also very friendly each time I came in. In terms of price, I brought in a floor length dress that I was going to wear for a wedding, and taking in the bottom (it was too long) and straps was $45. Pro tip: When you bring in your clothes to get tailored, bring/wear the shoes you'll be wearing with the outfit, so that you can be assured that the length will be exactly what you want! I was needing a VERY last minute (out of town) alteration and they followed through without disappointment. I was heading to a wedding in Indianapolis, but stopping to see a friend in Chicago for about 60 hours and made the decision to wear a dress that I had been holding out getting alterations on. I was in a time crunch so send feelers out via YELP to get some estimates from businesses close to my friends place before arriving. That's how I found this place. I went right when they opened the day after I arrived, as I promised so they could get the alteration in time, however one of the owners (the lady) who handles alterations had a last minute doctor's appointment and her husband (the other owner) apologized and told me to not worry about the timing/getting it done in time, but to come back later in the afternoon. I did, she did it real quick and said see you tomorrow. They had it ready by opening the next day. I was in a rush so didn't even try it on (I know --RISKY, especially when you're paying an expedite fee) until I got to Indianapolis. But all was good, as it was just as expected -- hemmed at the bottom and on the straps of my dress to perfection. OVERALL: Quick response. Guaranteed to be completed in 24 hours. Affordable/reasonable, even with a rush on it. Quality job. Would recommend for anyone local or traveling through. read more

Absolutely terrible experience here. Dropped off over $100 worth of dry cleaning here and sewing jobs. it was returned back with the sewing jobs not done and makeup stains on my girlfriends clothes. The business refused to refund us $$ after we said we didn't want to work with them. Instead they called the cops. F- for customer service. Refund us and we will be out of your hair. I have to give them a 3/5, or kinda like a C+. I have had two pants altered by them, one a hem and the other a taper. On both, the stitches are not entirely straight. The hems are just okay, not pretty. On the taper, you can see where they opened the inseam because the cut is not straight either. Neither of these affect the long term wearability of the pants, and from far away it looks fine. But up close it bothers me that neither are perfect. Hence a C, and not an A or anything. If you need a job done, they are kind and reliable. Cost is a tad high, but I guess in this neighborhood it's to be expected. Overall, recommend with reservations. After two tries, I will go to a new place but I wouldn't discourage you from trying them as long as you aren't taking in a super precious garment to you. read more

MOST Uncomfortable Rude Experience Ever. Terrible-do not come here. "We not take one shirt," while laughing is all I heard from the man at Kinzie Cleaners. I have never been turned down by a cleaners for only bringing 1 item. This was a "cleaners" emergency and I needed to get a stain out of my friend's shirt....obnoxious and rude does not even encompass my experience. I borrowed a friend's shirt and of course spilled meatball/marinara sauce on the shirt. I tried to get it out with oxyclean and that did not work and I'm new to the neighborhood so didn't have a cleaners yet and let me tell you this will NOT be my cleaners. I brought my old suit in here for some alterations. The owner was so sweet and basically became my stylist. She suggested I get my trousers tapered, the suit jacket a little slimmed around the waist, and shorter sleeves on both pieces. When I came back to pick it up, it turns out she took it upon herself to actually shorten the length of the jacket's body! Amazing! I was actually worried about this, since it's a really old suit. But, I was in a rush for a last-minute event, so I figured the long jacket would do. Nope! She wasn't going to let a sub-par product leave her business. I was looking on Yelp for a cleaner and found Kinzie Cleaners so I took a suit to them that had a ton of stains on it (a Jack & Coke spilled on me). She marked all the spots and when I came to pick it up there was still a little stain left so without me even asking she said she would take it back and do a better job. The guy who took over kinda ran the place down a bit, but now that Alice is back in charge things are great. My clothes always come back on time and Alice is a sweetheart. She does very good alterations too (she works on wedding dresses, which I've been told is quite a feat). The owner is very kind, but I had a terrible experience. I had a dress that had holes at the waist for a belt, and I lost the belt so I took it in to have the holes closed up. When I went to pick it up, the owner couldn't find my dress for about 10 minutes, which would have been fine if I didn't find that only one side was done (and not well) when I got home.
