We moved earlier this summer, and I was extremely impressed with Royal Movers. The communication was great, the pricing was explained in detail up front. The guys did a thorough job and were helpful and polite, they did a great job protecting our new flooring, and despite it being a horribly hot day they still got everything done as quickly as they could (it was a fairly big move). Everyone wore masks and they were all completely professional. I hope to not move again for a very long time, but I've been recommending them to my friends as much as possible. read more

Good service, reasonable price. Very easy to deal with and very responsive to questions and kept me up to date on any potential changes to pick up time. I would recommend and would use them on future moves. read more

These guys were phenomenal!!! From the quick turnaround regarding the quote and the ease of reserving services to the professionalism of the crew. A crew of only two were able to move most of our 3 bedroom home in 4 hours with two flights of stairs to navigate. All of our items were wrapped, secured, delicately moved and set up with the utmost care. Really grateful to have such a positive experience compared to what we've dealt with in the past. Would definitely recommend this team and will use them again when the need arises. read more

I am a government employee and move a lot. Despite the snow, these 2 guys came in and moved me 35 miles away in less than 4 hours. Great job! Very careful, very professional. read more

I've used Royal Movers twice, once in 2011 and then in 2012. Both times I used them as movers, they were a little late due to traffic but quickly made up for it by starting immediately, knowing exactly how to pack up my stuff and navigate without damaging anything. The movers were great, friendly and efficient and dedicated to getting the job done, even when I had an enormous old leather couch that was tricky getting in and out of a service elevator. Also they charged a really reasonable price compared to many other moving companies in the area, while providing things like the carts and blankets for free. read more

I needed my items moved from a storage pod into a Public Storage facility. After getting quotes from many different companies, I settled on Royal Movers. Carlos was awesome right from the start. They were available on the date & time that I wanted to move, and scheduling was quick and easy. On move day, the movers showed up at exactly the time they were supposed to arrive. They worked very quickly, and were patient about me wanting to sort through boxes before they were put back into storage. The move estimate was 2 hours (the minimum allowed), and the movers finished in just over an hour and a half. My only complaint is that they charge $120 "service fee" even though they were local, which I assume is to cover their trip expenses. I'm not from VA, but when calling around for quotes, I learned that seems to be a common thing here. I've moved many times in the past in other states, and am used to companies charging an additional hour fee for travel time & expenses, but this is the first time I've been charged that much just for the movers to show up. read more

Extremely slow. Arrived late and then worked at a snails pace. Polite and careful but annoyingly slow...for a two bedroom apartment with all boxes already packed and ready to go they took 4 hours just to load the truck! read more

I used their service. They came all the way to South West VA to help me move to NOVA. They were a little late but they were really fast and thorough at wrapping my furniture carefully. They were both prepared and very polite. They unloaded my belongings and waited for me until I signed all the documents from the my new apartments leasing office. We arrived on time at my final destination. I recommend them and would definitely hire Royal Movers for my next move. read more

Carlos and his co-worker easily moved my studio apartment in no time. Everything that needed to be wrapped, they wrapped (i.e. TV, dresser, bed) . If you think they can't lift a box....oh they can! Good people and easy to work with- I had them drop off a couch at another location last minute. Absolutely worth their price and more. read more

Carlos and his crew were amazing. Their professionalism and attention to detail was unmatched. They do a fantastic job at a very reasonable price. They were prompt and extremely friendly. I am in the Real Estate Business and I know I will be able to create additional value by using and recommending Royal Movers in the future. Please do not hesitate contacting me with additional questions but I highly recommend Royal Movers. read more

Carlos and his crew were polite, very professional and FAST! Their rates are extremely reasonable. They were very accomodating during the move, Carlos even helped change the locks to my new house. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again for any future move. I appreciate their service, I can see why my friend recommended them, she too will be using them again on her next move. read more

I cannot say enough about what a wonderful moving experience we had with Royal Movers. A friend recommended them and they moved us from VA to MA this past summer. The crew packed us up, loaded the trucks, drove the trucks and unloaded everything. We did do some of the packing ourselves and they also moved those boxes for us. The crew on both ends was phenomenal and many of the same people who packed us up also came to do the unloading. They were so polite and couldn't have been nicer or more professional. As soon as they arrived, they unloaded one of the two trucks that night. This crew is a hardworking bunch of individuals! Nothing was damaged in our move for the first time EVER in the several moves around the country we have made. They did a great job packing things and took care of our things and were respectful of our homes. Their pricing was very competitive. They were prompt on both ends of the move and completed everything within the timeline promised. All of our furniture was adequately wrapped and they made sure to put together the beds for us on the first night so we could sleep in our home and not have to go to a hotel. We were a single family home with a lot of stuff and we filled two of their 24(?) foot trucks. They took a lot of the stress out of moving. Thank you Carlos and Royal Movers! read more

Frankie and Marcos were awesome for my 1 BR apartment move across town. They were professional, extremely thorough (covered all furniture with plastic wrap and pads and floors with runners), and courteous. They moved everything with the utmost efficiency - I was so impressed! The price could not be beat and Carlos was responsive and easy to work with throughout the scheduling process. I would definitely hire this team again. read more

We had Royal Movers move our furniture twice in the last few months. The first time was to move our furniture to the garage and kitchen and back while we had our hardwood floors re-finished. The second time was to pack and move our belongings to our new house. Royal Movers was recommended to us by someone that uses them for her business. Anyway, the team at Royal Movers did a great job, very professional, and always careful handling your belongings, plus the price was right. For our actual move to the new house, we received estimates from two other movers but went with Royal Movers based on our previous experience with them and their price. We would call Royal Movers again if we ever need moving help again! read more

This is the second time that I used Royal Movers, LLC. The first time was last year and one of the workers showed up hung over and with broken equipment. I called Carlos and he was very apologetic and agreed to take off an hour and promised me that if I used his service again he would send me two of his "best men." I unknowingly booked him the second time after seeing it advertised on Craigslist. When I realized it was the same company I called him to remind him of my experience last year. He agreed that this time would be different. They showed up on time and were friendly and professional. However, when I realized that we were headed into the third hour and they had not finished packing up my one-bedroom apartment (I was moving into a 500sqft studio, so I didn't have that much stuff), I thought, well, maybe I need to help them out. Once we arrived at my new apartment to unload, the unpacking went more swiftly (we had a reserved elevator) UNTIL....they couldn't get my sofa up the stairs. Carlos called me and told me that they couldn't get the sofa up and that he didn't want to damage it. I suggested that they try a different angle and he moved it a little before saying, yeah, I'm sorry it's just too tall, it won't go up because of the low ceiling. After a few exchanges back and forth, I said, fine, just leave it in the hallway. 30mins later I called two of my male friends and VOILA: They get the damn sofa up three flights of stairs in less than 10 minutes!! I called Carlos back to let him know that I was disappointed and he completely talked over me and tried to change the story by saying, I told you we could get it up but that I was afraid that we may damage it. What client is going to encourage a mover to push their furniture up the stairs when they blatantly keep saying, it's too tall, we're going to damage it if we push anymore?!? The reality is that they just didn't have the man power to get this move done efficiently. Carlos is hard working however the 60yr old man he had with him just did not have the stregnth or endurance to pull out a move. I could tell he was doing best but hell, he's gotta be pushing 60!! They were EXHUASTED by the end of the move and did not have the energy or interest to get my sofa up the stairs. This has been a valuable lesson. You get what you pay for...or I guess in my case, you DON'T get what you paid for. read more

These guys are awesome! Carlos was great with setting everything up on a short schedule (we called him on Thursday for a Sunday move). However, he could be a little bit better at responding to emails... Jimmy and Willy were wonderful to work with :-) I was moving from a 3-story townhouse to a one-bedroom high-rise so I had a lot of stuff AND a freight elevator (and long hallway walk) to deal with! It took them 9 hours (and 2 trips) to get me moved but they were just as friendly and nice and polite at midnight as they were when they first arrived. I would (and have) recommend them to Anyone needing to move anything! read more

Upon arriving late to the move (we were their first job), these movers were terrible. Between constant talking on cell phones, moving incredibly slow to try and take up as much time as possible, to dropping boxes and breaking our items, I would steer far away from this company. I even had the owner get in my face and tell me that my move was the worst move he'd ever done because we weren't ready - mind you WE had constantly moved our items into the hallway for them to take to the truck and they never once had to wait on us. There were times were they were gone 20+ minutes with stuff waiting for them to move. As if all of this wasn't enough, they didn't bring a big enough truck (even though I told them we had a lot of stuff) and we still have to make trips on our own to move the rest of our stuff!!!! And, on the way to our new unit, they drove extremely slow in order to stretch the time even further. While, yes, I'd like them to drive carefully with our belongings, they were truly being ridiculous. At our new unit, we unloaded half of our belongings ourselves to just get them to leave, and we did it all faster and better than the two of them. You truly get what you pay for with moving companies and I learned this lesson with hiring this awful company. Steer FAR away from hiring them if you value your belongings, time, and sanity. read more

These guys were great- someone else cancelled on me at the last minute but they were able to help me out right away. The two gentlemen who assisted were very professional- friendly, very careful and worked very quickly. Highly recommend. read more

I used them for my second move with the same great results. I have recommended them to two of my friends who were also very happy with their move! The two movers were not slow (as another review stated) and were very careful with my belongings. They even helped me set up my rug and couch the way I wanted it once they were done. read more

We moved from Broadlands, VA to Melbourne, FL in a 26' rental truck packed on a Sunday by two of Carlos' men. They showed up on time, did an amazingly good job packing the truck thoroughly and securely, carefully disassembled and wrapped all the furniture, and packed a 3300 square foot house into the truck in a little over 8 hours. On top of that, we unloaded the truck ourselves in about the same time, and there was no damage. They did a great job, and I highly recommend them. Be sure to make their job easier: have moving blankets, have plenty of water and Gatorade, order lunch, and tip well in cash. read more

I used royal movers a couple days ago, at first I was a bit worried about what their reviews said but I gave them a chance given that my friend that referred me to them had a great experience. I was happy they showed up on time, they were very friendly and professional, they took good care of all my belongings and over all a great experience. I highly recommend them. read more

My local DC move was pretty much perfect thanks to Carlos. Movers arrived on time and completed entire move in under 2 hours. No damage to any of my belongings or the 2 apartment units. He stayed true to his very reasonable quote (the lowest of all 5-6 DC movers I considered). I would definitely use Royal Movers again. read more

Not quite sure what crew the other recommendations had but mine was awful. I was moving overseas and needed some of my furniture to be moved from my house into storage. They did not bring enough packing material, they did not wrap my furniture, they couldn't figure out how to load my things into the storage unit and I fear what I'll find when I'm back in the States in terms of the condition of my things. They were so slow that I started helping them pack. I would never use them again. Don't know who's photo that is below but it certainly is not representative of Royal's service to me. read more
