I don't know what happened to my favorite locally-owned pizza place but something changed. We recently gave Route 66 the 3rd and final chance to prove the previous two orders were anomalies and not the new normal (are we sick of that term yet?!). Unfortunately, they failed again. What was previously pizza that the entire family would get excited about turned into pizza that is 1.) extremely greasy and either the ingredients changed or the way they prepared the ingredients changed or both 2.) the cheesy bread had barely any cheese; just a smattering in the middle of the dough and 3.) they were so soggy by the time they got to us (10-minute drive from Route 66 to our door, max) that the pizzas were barely edible. 3 orders in a row... Sucks to write this review because I always directed people to Route 66 but now I tell people they'd be better off with one of the big chains. Feels bad. read more

This place is cute and has a rustic feel to the inside. There are few booths and tables. They have a little area for outdoor seating as well. We got a pitcher of beer, and the large Luau pizza with added jalapeños. The crust on the pizza was soft but had a nice crisp to it. The flavor of the pizza was just right. There weren't too many toppings and the cheese wasn't falling off when you bite into it. Also there wasn't an abundance of sauce. The staff was very friendly and checked on us a few times. This place is adorable! It's small, quaint and has a great hometown feel. You order at the front counter and then they bring your pizza to your table. My family and I used to love grabbing a couple of pizzas on our way back home from a family visit in Orting. I buy an Entertainment book every year because they have a buy one get one free coupon. Tonight when I called my pizza in, they said they will no longer accept any coupons that they didn't email to me. I don't get it. It's not like it's a franchise who picks and chooses which coupons they take. The coupon is only for that address. YAY! Another vegan option in such a small town. Thank goodness their crust is dairy/egg free! So what i order is a Pizza with no cheese and the following toppings.. Jalapenos, pineapple, olives, bell pepper, onion, spinach, and garlic. WOW these flavors just really make the pizza pop! They are so fresh and flavorful! You really don't need cheese at all. Good burgers, OK fries. If you are in a rush, don't go here. Been there three times and it never took less than 20 minutes to get a burger, even when it was empty. We just go and take a walk on the Foothills Trail while we wait usually. Ate in once, and it still took 25 minutes to get one burger with only one other party there. Out and About Burgers is a better option if you have the time to drive up to South Hill and are planning take-out. If you need a burger in Orting, the taste is good, the wait is not. read more

When we arrived, the place was busy. We presented coupons and were treated just as well as paying customers. The service was outstanding, even with a confused order in which the incorrect item was left at the table complimentary for all to enjoy. But, now they have a few booths and tables to sit down and enjoy your pizza... Somehow, it isn't as good as I remember but maybe that was just my mind playing tricks on me since I had hyped it up so much in my own mind after not being able to get out there for so many years! All in all, a fantastic little joint to enjoy your pizza and a brew... but, you'll have a wait a bit to get the pizza, they are a bit slow. Not good guys. Second time my family and friends came to your restaurant and the service was poor. We have lived in Orting for four years, always enjoyed the customer service, easily spent $50 on foods, but tonight, the camels back broke big time. We stood in line at the bar for over 10 minutes, receipts all over the counter, people ordering and being told 45 minutes, and customers on the patio asking where their cheesy bread was after already receiving their pizza. Pulled in to pick up pizza to go; very cool decor inside. Pizza was hot and fresh and ready. Customer service was great! Pizza tasted very good. Tried their pizza for the first time. Pizza was delicious and would have gotten 5 stars if it weren't for customer service, price and non delivery. Oh and the fact that they don't take coupons over the phone. I was new to ordering and was trying to get some suggestions which I did get. Had the online coupon but the gal wouldn't take the coupon over the phone, as they "needed it printed and in hand at the store in order to get the discount." I found that to be odd since it was on their website. Was informed that delivery wasn't available until after 4 so had to send a friend to pick up. I couldn't get my printer to work, which apparently didn't matter because when my friend went in to pay they didn't need the coupon. Would have preferred to pay with the card over the phone instead of scrambling to get cash for my friend to make Payment so it was an inconvenience. Pizza is good tho but definitely pricey. Unfortunately, I cannot give them less than one star or I would. This place seems to hire nothing but snot nosed teenagers. I've never met or seen anyone who looks over the age of 18 working there aside from a woman by the name of 'Jessie' or 'Jessica' or something who calls herself a manager and that's a joke. And from other reviews I've read on here, she has failed to impress quite a few customers. The food is not at all what you would expect for the wait and the price. Oh, and if you have to deal with an employee named 'Sissy', don't bother. She could give a crap less what her customers want, she prefers to spend her time flirting with her male co workers in the kitchen. Apparently this place is more of a dating service than a restaurant. I've never even written a review on a business before, much less such a negative one, but I've given this place quite a few attempts and it just makes me so furious that I and everyone else are supposed to come there and pay for overpriced pizza that may be good, but is completely overshadowed by the idiocy going on with their employees. Funny what a customer notices while being completely ignored at their table by the stuck up snot nosed 'Sissy'.. Not to mention the fact that one of my neighbors had to make a call about a year ago reporting that one of their delivery drivers was seen spray painting on signs while he was supposed to be out DELIVERING. We've been to this pizzeria three times now and have been impressed by the quality of the food each time. The caesar salad is so yummy that we've almost licked the bowl. The large is big enough to share, garlicky and creamy enough with lots of savory cheese. The pizza is delicious and the toppings are high quality. Today we had the caesar and a spinach calzone with sausage added. The large is way big enough for two people who are hungry and biking a long way and maybe a little too large...Served with sides of marinara for dipping. The place seems to be held down by one cute girl who runs around and does a great job handling everyone and their orders. Today some little boys got to make their own pizzas to be baked for them! That's a cool kid thing if you ask me. The cute girl brought out rounds of dough with the sauce and toppings in cups and the boys had a BLAST making their own pizzas.
