It's a pizzeria and I love pizza. It's genuinely New York style, with a chewy crust and the right oily textured cheese. It's very basic and they've got a really nice beer selection for such a small spot. My favorite thing is to go upstairs and look down at the kitchen -- it's just a really fun place to drop in for a snack and a beer

Tasty pizza, large servings, easily modified. I love that you can get slices, as well.

Looking for NY style pizza by the slice in Tacoma? Then head over to Salamone's Pizza in the Stadium district. You can order a whole pie, but we usually stop in and order a couple slices each right at the counter. Grab a nice cold beer from the cooler too! Tip: Check out the menu board for the Red Chef's Special and the White Chef's Special. So good!

Excellent! As a New Yorker, this is really good NY-style pizza. Slices have good structure, crust is crispy, has good chew and flavor. Great sauce, not heavy on the black pepper thankfully. Cheese blend is great. Will definitely swing by for a couple of slices when passing through town. Both the regular cheese and grandma are delicious. Nice crust on the grandma square slice too. And extra saucy. Excellent all around. Great pizza, friendly staff. I will definitely be back.

Very tasty NY style pizza by the slice. We were visiting from LA but have both lived in NY and always struggle to find a NY style pie. Bonus for by the slice options!

This New York style pizza rivals the best of the best. Crispy, full of flavor, and customer service that is awesome. Nice neighborhood pizza parlor vibe which is fun too. Highly recommend!

Salamone's is a great NY style pizza! We came in with the family and all ordered two slices each. The slices are huge, foldable and the crust was delicious! There are a variety of toppings to choose from with unique flavors. I tried a pepperoni jalapeños slice (very spicy) and a chicken artichoke with white sauce. Lived the chicken artichoke. It's a smaller restaurant with about 6 or so tables. Located right in the heart of the Stadium District. Highly recommend!

Still the best NY pizza! Love the by the slice or by the pie flex. The addition of options to buy soda by the 2 liter is nice and the beer is a happy addition for many. Still a great selection of non soda and soda for everyone (including apple juice for the kids, like me). Service is still great and the atmosphere is more NY than Tacoma. Large slices and great atmosphere make this place great for meeting friends, family or a date. Check out the balcony for more seating or take your slice/pie home to enjoy. Lunchtime during the week and even dinner can make this place slightly full so plan accordingly. Daily chef specials- try the Grandma's or one of the spicy options. Tip: If you like parm on yours you will find it in the bottom of the cooler, be sure to return it when you're done. Service: above average Cleanliness: very good Noise level: noisy during busy times, music in background is not overly loud. Restroom: clean - ask for key, all genders Accessibility: Decent, but upper balcony can only be accessed by stairs (slightly steep, may be difficult for children or those with mobility difficulties) Beverages: assorted soda - coke and pepsi product, other non soda, 2 liter bottles available MyFitnessPal: No, but worth the calories

This place has so many great reviews, so I was honestly surprised by our experience. Pros- Friendly Service, Drinks kept cold at the right temp, not too long of a wait for a full pizza Cons - Dirty interior (flys everywhere when we went and no clean tables) and the pizza was pretty boring. The type of sausage they use was disgusting, but besides that this was just your typical slice of pizza. Nothing wowed us in terms of the recipe or taste. The crust was also pretty flavorless. Sauce was unseasoned. Maybe we'd come back for some lunch slices or a different recipe.

    # Salamone's Pizza - Authentic NY Pizza Worth Every Penny! 5/5 stars Forget Dominos, Pizza Hut, or Papa John's - Salamone's Pizza is the real deal! At $27 for a pie the size of a round shield, you're getting authentic New York-style pizza that'll have you scheduling a carb coma nap afterwards. What sets Salamone's apart: 1. Size: Bigger than franchise pizzas at a similar price point. 2. Sauce: Perfectly balanced - not too acidic, not too sweet. 3. Harmony: The bread, sauce, and cheese work together flawlessly. 4. Authenticity: As someone originally from Southington, Connecticut, I can vouch for its NY authenticity. 5. The Fold: The satisfying fold of the slice - it just feels right! The experience of folding a Salamone's slice in half is so satisfying it's hard to put into words. It's clear this pie was meant to be eaten this way. For an authentic New York Pizza experience, I can't recommend Salamone's enough! Trust me, it's worth the drive. Don't settle for franchised pizza when you can have this slice of New York right here. Pro tip: Come hungry and bring friends - you'll want to share this pizza experience!

Ask the Community - Salamone's Pizza

    How is the beer selection?

They have 1 or 2 bottles (i saw peroni) in the fridge.

Do they have vegan pizza by the slice all the time or at certain times? I'm unfortunately lactose intolerant but I still want pizza and want to try this place out!

They didn't have any today when we were there but they're pretty new and it seems like their slice menu is still a little limited. Call ahead I guess because their pizza is excellent and worth the visit!

So then two people walk in and get to place their order before us who were waiting in line?! Especially when we know the food does not come out right away! Put a sign in front of the restaurant saying you don't like Asian people and don't waste our time like this. I don't know what it is about the red hair cashier if he was autistic which is fine or if he was just in a shitty mood, but what a very horrible and weird experience. Waited over a half an hour for pizzas to come out, and it was just bland. You guys also forgot mushrooms on my friend pizza, not a single one on there. Don't get pissy with me because I asked for a receipt, it's not my fault that I get paid sometimes for meals by my job. And why am I getting grilled with the 21 questions on asking for a small and big box for me and my friend? Also weird that we are waiting in line for you to finish putting receipts on boxes when you could easily be like are you guys ready to pay and just get us out the door? Why are we waiting five minutes for that in line? Absolutely ludicrous service. Just do not understand why people still treat people like this in this economy, why not treat everyone with great respect and service to get a better tip and leave a five star review again. Disappointing will never be back and will let people know. Can't believe this was 43 bucks.

Not a huge fan of the ambience in Bar Rosa, plywood floors and very dark. We were sat in a booth, and it was as the sun was setting. The windows are all illuminated and beyond filthy (inside) - it was hard not to notice with the windows open and leaning towards our table. I also was the unfortunate one to have the sun straight and my face for about half of our dinner. Service was hit or mess. We waited a long time with no check in for more cocktails. The cocktail choices are great, however, they were out of a particular cocktail my friend wanted to order. We started with the meatballs, not good. The sauce however was phenomenal! Meatballs were just very dense and dry. The appetizer came out not even 5 minutes after our order was put in, so they were lukewarm at best. When we ordered our pizza, they were out of the homemade sausage, this was Saturday night at 6pm???, so we ordered the foraged pizza as is. The pizza was delicious. My friends ordered the Marguerita - crust was a bit over done. Food was good- $30 a pizza good, not in my opinion. Hi, generally do not leave negative reviews- I look for the silver lining at majority of restaurants I visit- but this was a tough one for me. Again- maybe an off night.
