Dave and Lisa are a genuinely sweet couple serving up some serious pizza magic. This was my first-ever Chicago-style pie, and it absolutely delivered. The cheese pull was basically endless, and the crust was spot on -- crispy on the outside, chewy in the center, and seasoned just right so the salt balanced perfectly with the pizza. With a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old in tow, we appreciated the coloring papers and crayons during the longer cook time (which is completely worth the wait). The kids loved it, we loved it, and the whole experience felt welcoming from start to finish. We were nearby for a baseball showcase and found this place on yelp. We have been craving deep dish pizza since our Chicago trip a year ago. It did not disappoint! We were new to try the Quad, with all meat, we also got a traditional Chicago with pepperoni. My husbands favorite was the all meat but the Chicago put me in a cheese and sauce coma! The place is a little hidden and very limited seating. We were the only group dining in, everyone else that came were carrying out. I believe the owners were the ones waiting on us. Very nice waitress in a weirdly hidden restaurant off the main road. It's very mom and pop, unfortunately with gnats and flies, but the whole point is the food, right? She told us they import all the meats from Chicago so, if true, that's pretty unique. The deep dish was good - nothing to write home about honestly. While we've had better, it's good to know we don't necessarily have to travel to Seattle for deep dish if we don't want to. My wife and I had been wanting to try this place for quite a while now. We finally had a chance to order take out a couple of weeks ago. We ordered a supreme Chicago's deep dish style pizza and a flatbread Hawaiian style pizza. Those two large pizzas cost $90 after tax. The pizza was quite disappointing, especially for the price. We tried the Chicago chi-dawg, the Cub (Italian beef), and The Quad deep dish, pan-style pizza. The hotdog was classic and perfect. The beef sandwich with the Giardiniera relish was dynamite. But the star of the show was the pizza. Great ratio of sauce, cheese and toppings; and that burnt cheese pan crust was fantastic. The service was fast and friendly. The owner came out and told us about how he adopted his favorite recipes from all the places he loved and worked at when he lived in Chicago. Let's start with the Chicago style hot dog. They advertise Vienna Beef but that's not what you're getting. The hotdog had no snap and the same gross doughy texture that you get with your typical budget brands found at places like Walmart. Onions were chopped way too coarse, the pickle was mushy and they forgot to put on the sport peppers. Now the Italian beef was a little better, a salty grey pile of sliced beef, served lukewarm over a brat bun instead of a French roll. Both items were way overpriced and nothing more than what you could slap together from a small trip to the grocery store. If I wasn't from Chicago maybe I'd be less critical, but there's absolutely no effort here. Now the deep dish pizza I thought was okay, up until I tasted the sausage. Again, cheap pork filler that all has that same weird flavor and heavily processed consistency. You'd know what I meant if you've ever had the sausage from Papa John's. Same garbage. Not the Italian fennel sausage that belongs on such a pizza. If you avoid the sausage, I'd rate the pizza 6/10, but nothing else I had was worth getting. read more

After living in Chicago, definitely got excited to try a restaurant with this name! Heard about it and finally gave it a try. First off, FINDING the storefront can be tricky. Just know that you gotta FOLLOW THE SIGNS cuz it's in the back of the building. Parking is limited, and a little dicey maneuvering in out, but it's doable. Gotta say, opening the box and seeing that high pizza crust brought back some great memories of Chi Town. It's definitely NOT Giordano's mile-high crust that requires a knife AND fork to cut into that 'pie', nor does it have UNO's signature sauce, but it IS full of that something special that screams CHICAGO. I appreciated the effort. Felt the filling was very simple....i think I expected a little more - oomph! that a true Chicago deep dish carries. But overall, a nice surprise. read more

First off, I do not understand the raved reviews. If you like Chucke-Cheese style foods, then this is your place! My husband and I went out with a friend to this establishment and overall, the food was not the best. For appetizers, we ordered the wings, Chi dog, and a salad. I can't believe how much they charged us for each appetizer--especially the salad. It's NOT worth the money. Do not order any appetizers there. If you like wet, soggy, undercooked, out of the freezer wings, then by all means ruin your appetite. It was god awful. I love wings and that was a huge disappointment. The salad came straight out of a bag. Ranch dressing and blue cheese was absolute shit. Nothing was made from scratch except for the pizza, maybe? The Chi dog was meh. The only good flavor it came with was the hot peppers, otherwise the beef dog was definitely a Hebrew national, nothing special. For our mains, we ordered the meat lovers deep dish for the friend and I and a small vegetarian for my husband. There was barely any meat in the meat lovers. The sausage tasted like old freezer-burned meat? Idk it had old meat flavor. My husband liked his pizza but didn't think it was spectacular and thought the cheese could be more melty? The service from our waitress was great and the overall vibe was warm, friendly, and inviting. That's why I'm giving them 2 stars. Wow!! My family grew up in Chicago and our pizza standards are quite high. The pizza at Chicago Pizza Kitchen was amazing! Ordered the pan style with mushrooms and got a free thin crust, we had a coupon. The pan was good, the cheese is good, but the crust was to thick or overcooked (was hoping for a fluffy softer crust). This place is a little off the beaten path and can be a bit tricky to find, but if you're familiar with University Place, you should have no trouble. Once you get there, it's absolutely worth it. Our first visit to this establishment. Had a friend visit two days ago and encouraged us to give them a try. So glad we did. My wife and I had their Magnificent Mile Deep Dish and two house salads. Crisp fresh veggies on the salad and an adequate amount dressing provided on the side. The deep dish was a treat - wonderful pizza. We had been wanting to try this place since they opened, and decided to splurge tonight, New Year's Eve. Ordered online at about 4:20 for a pickup time of 5:45. Arrived at 5:45 to be told that they were running extremely behind, and that it would be 45 more minutes. The gal working the counter was friendly and apologetic and offered us free sodas while we waited. But, we then had to listen to the staff complain about their predicament for the time we were waiting. To be fair it ended up only being 30 minutes. Then we got it home. It was absolutely the worst pizza I've had in recent memory. The sausage was freezer burned, the "pan pizza" was not pan pizza, but their thin crust put in a different pan. The thin crust pizza was supposed to have green peppers...Nope, not there. Both pizzas were just terrible Like eating cardboard. We should have just gone with Pizza Hut like we normally do. read more
