This restaurant is bigger than it looks from the outside. More importantly the food is pretty good, to my surprise! I wasn't expecting much but I ate all my beans and rice too! I usually don't touch the rice at other places because it's usually bland. The rice here is quite tasty. We had the quesadilla appetizer, combo burrito and enchilada, and the birria plate. The portions are huge! Had to force ourselves to eat it all since we didn't want to waste or it just wasn't enough to take home. I'm 5 months pregnant and was craving a burrito. I called in for a to go order thinking that I was going to get a simple burrito boy was I surprised when I open the bag. Inside was a burrito and al sorts of goodies. There was sour cream, salsa, and guacamole on the side along with some rice and beans. I was definitely surprised ima the best way. The staff said that the order was gonna be 15 minutes but it was a lot quicker than that. The ambiance of the restaurant is casual nothing to fancy. 5 Stars - Absolutely Worth the Drive! Los Pinos in Orting, WA was recommended to me while I was working all the way in Georgia--literally across the country! My wife and I decided to give it a try for lunch, and we were absolutely blown away. It's such a great spot that we're already planning to make the drive back. I travel internationally and can confidently say that Los Pinos is the best authentic Mexican food I've had in the state of Washington. From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by a warm, charming atmosphere--but what really struck me was the incredible aroma of real, home-cooked food. I've never experienced anything quite like it, not even at high-end restaurants worldwide. The staff? Excellent. The food? Marvelous. The atmosphere? Top-notch. The place means "The Pines" in Spanish, and the decor has a great combo of what you would expect from a family Mexican restaurant mixed with some NW flair. The booths had Mt. Rainier and some trees etched into their backs, which was pretty cool. Service was friendly and straightforward, as was the food. Free chips and salsa, and we split an order of chicken taquitos which was hearty and affordable. Decided to drop by just to eat some Nachos as an appetizer after going on a 7-mile bike ride! Arrived at 1:30 PM and got seated right away. Had to wait about 10 minutes before the waitress came to order. Seemed like she was the only one serving all of the tables, so it was understandable. Our Super Nachos with Ground Beef came out in a very timely manner. Tasted really good, too! 20 years ago, I ate at a place with the same name in Lacey. No idea if this is the same place and the Lacey location doesn't appear to exist anymore. That said, I remembered it being tasty. I tried calling this place to verify before we headed out, but no one answered the phone. So despite yelp hours claiming they open at 9:30 on Sunday, that is not the case, at the same time, review aren't too favorable about the brunch, so either that or covid are the reason it no longer exists. We arrived just after 11 to be safe. The place was freezing. I don't know if the place has heat, or if they depend on the kitchen and customers to heat the place up, but I had on a heavy jacket and was still cold. Service was slow, which is inexcusable for a place just opening, it wasn't busy enough for staff to be distracted. Chips and salsa were good, but the salsa had no heat, when I asked for something hotter, I was told they had two more salsas, but neither were hot. One was green and the other was mild. We tried the green and it wasn't good. It was more of a sauce than salsa. Listen, the food was really good, and the price was reasonable. My only knock to this place is being out in the middle of nowhere. Coming off the freeway, it's 8 miles down a 50 mile an hour road moms appeared to be comfortable driving 35 mph for no good reason. Yes, I get it it's a limit, but who drives 35 in a 50 other than someone that shouldn't be driving at all. This place deserves 5 stars for the food, but unfortunately, the slow service and uncomfortable stay impacted our ability to enjoy the meal fully. What happened? I have eaten here since 2012 and have ordered the Polo LA Crema almost every time. Today was a huge disappointment. The mushrooms tasted and looked way past their prime. The chicken was dry and very chewy. I could not eat the mushrooms and barely touched my rice and beans. The majority of the meal was left on my plate. I let the waitress know how dissatisfied I was with my meal. She thanked me for my feedback. I won't be back anytime soon that's for sure! read more

finally started going here again after they stopped charging for chips a while back, and it has been fine. the last few times i've gone to los pinos to go and gotten there burritos the meat has tasted super metallicy. this has happened about 3 times now. the last time was the first time i called saying something and clementina said she would refund my one burrito order which was very sweet of her. but the it took her roughly 20 minutes to find my check from the same day not even 15 minutes after i ordered to go and ate at home. i gave her my last 4 of the credit card and the exact check number. she said she refunded it and it would take about 3 business days. i said thank you. i never got it. i called back 5 days later and she said she'd get it taken care of. i appreciate her saying she would but never did and never got the refund. yeah it was around $30 for the burrito and tip but sucks when it's three times now so about $90 and i haven't eaten one burrito from it tasting bad. i just feel like it isn't the same there anymore. read more

My in-laws and I stopped here to grab lunch last weekend. The restaurant is a bit unassuming from the outside but for a Sunday at 1 pm in Orting it was relatively busy. We sat down and immediately were greeted by a basket of warm tortilla chips and salsa. The chips were tasty and the salsa had a kick to it. It wasn't super spicy but with every bite you would feel a little kick. It was so good that I couldn't stop myself from eating more! We then ordered and food arrived in a timely manner. I ordered the tacos el carbon with beef. It came with a side of rice, refried beans and guacamole. The rice was just the way I like it and oh so tasty. The refried beans were creamy and the beef was cooked well and tasted amazing. I wasn't too crazy about the corn tortilla that was used for the tacos though. I feel like flour tortilla would've been a much better choice for this dish. My MIL ordered the burrito plate from the lighter menu options and said it was very tasty. I'm just going to say that this is the BEST place to eat in Orting,WA! HANDS DOWN! I was very impressed with the Combo platter! I expected for the chimichangas and tamale to be a lot smaller than they were. They were a very good size and the fillings were stuffed to PERFECTION! My mouth was so happy that I was doing the "mmmhhmmmm" as I chewed. Lol. Everything was seasoned different, yet complimentary to each other and that's hard to do sometimes. The Super Nachos were very good as well! Fresh guac! The woman who answered the phone was so polite and patient while taking my order. I had a few questions. She naturally surpassed any level of customer service I've personally received at a restaurant. When I picked up my food, it was tamper proofed and neatly stacked in a plastic bag tied off with a silver tie. The place had a hum of happiness and satisfaction. I know that has to be the standard. We have been dining at Los Pinos for about 13 years. We go at least twice a week, sometimes more, and we have been totally pleased every visit. The food is fresh and fabulous made from scratch every day. Clementina just recently added some new fantastic dishes to the menu as well as some more healthy and lighter/smaller portions selections. You can't beat Taco Tuesday where you can come in and eat piles of tacos (soft or crunchy with fillings like chicken, ground beef, or shredded beef). They have several new soups made from fresh ingredients that will warm you up on cold days and they taste wonderful! There is a new seafood soup that has crab legs, scallops, shrimp, fish, and fresh veggies. If you want to try authentic Mexican soups this is the place to go. Since I've had everything on the menu many times over the years I was thrilled with the new items on the menu. This is my favorite place to get food in Orting. It's has a small town family feel to it. The food is always great, to the point where we were actually coming 2-3 times a week for a few months. My husband has tried to find a place that makes tortilla soup like Los Pino's but nothing compares. The broth is amazing and has so much flavor, it will be your favorite. My favorite is the vegetarian burrito with no dairy and extra mushrooms, it's perfect every time. There's always seating, rarely do you have to wait. In the summer they have an outdoor seating area as well. In July 2017 we had Los Pinos cater our wedding. The food was great, we opted for a buffet style dinner. Clementina (the owner) set everything up behind the scene, we didn't have to worry about anything. Catering with them was smooth and easy and the price was really reasonable. The stars are for the food which is pretty good, but the service is terrible. We try to support local establishments but they have no problem letting you wait for your order without any explanation. We ordered our food and waited an hour without any explanation. This was not the first time this happened at this place.
