My first time here, I ordered the barbecue bacon double cheeseburger. The menu is pretty expansive, which is impressive. I would say the pricing is definitely on the higher side: for example, a five piece mozzarella stick is eight dollars. I paid $16 for this barbecue bacon double cheeseburger only, no sides. It was good. I would give the cheeseburger 3.5 out of 5, but I'm bumping up the rating of four stars because the service was excellent. The worker at the counter was really friendly and made recommendations and even brought my food out to me in the car. I'm tempted to come back and try their fish and chips because the employee said that's what they're really known for. They have like two dozen different flavors of milkshakes, which is pretty cool. The reason I give the cheeseburger 3.5 is because the onions were sliced thin, which is good, but they were a little green and that changes the flavor of the burger. The meat also needed more salt. Change is not always good. We have been dining here for years to enjoy a delicious beef burger with ripe juicy tomatoes, crisp lettuce, and sliced red onions. Not anymore. They have changed the bun from sesame to plain, definitely different beef taste and patty size, ultra thin tomato slice (what's the point of the tomato), a couple shreds of lettuce, and thin onion strips. Truly not the home made burgers we have enjoyed...sadly, their food photos do not match the product. A different burger than what Herfys has been popular for in the past. Stopped in Orting for lunch and gave Herfy's a first try. I am so glad I stopped in. I got the 2-piece fish and chips. At first, I was a bit reluctant because of the price tag for an assumed fast-food joint. I ordered to-go and the lovely lady asked what car I was in so she could deliver it to my car! What?!?! That's service! The food came on a clean cardboard tray accompanied by plenty of sauces. I opened the box and was shocked by how huge the fish pieces are. The young people working here provide great service. They bring "to go" orders right out to your car. I had seen several recommendations for "where is the best fish and chips". Herfy's in Orting was aways one of the places mentioned. Being a "Fish Snob" I had to give them a try. Outstanding, prepared just the way I like. Breaded with panko for a thing crispy outside and juicy, tasty on the inside. A 2 piece can feed two, or as I do, can provide a second meal later. I always take home half and reheat in the air fryer later. My wife gets a burger or sandwich which she says are really good as well. My in laws live out in graham so we usually do a weekly drive down from Bellevue past Orting. We love to support local businesses in the pierce county area and decided to revisit Herfy's during phase 2. A lovely girl took my order (masks on). She informed me that they have run out of crinkle fries due to supply shortage. I ordered the fish and chips combo, a bacon burger and a Oreo milkshake. Total was around $35. She took my name and said she would bring it out to our car. We waited over 20+ minutes for our food. The serving size for fish and chips was great- couldn't even finish it. Burger has always been lack luster. The milkshakes are the best as is the fry sauce. Overall, I think we'd only eat here in a pinch but would purchase a milkshake in a heartbeat! read more

If you want to eat inside there is limited seating however the food is very delicious and large servings which absolutely makes up for the price! Every employee we came in contact with was super nice and could tell very hard workers! Being able to work the long line and get food out as fast as possible with a smile on their face. Best fish and chips around!! The cod is so good as is the halibut. I prefer the cod because the portions are so much bigger. And whatever they do to the cod it always tastes amazing!The portions are huuuuuuge! And the gal that works in the back is so so so sweet! I adore her! It's been a few years since I have tried this Herfy's. I was reminded today why I'd stopped going there. For a fast food place, the food is very expensive. I was gonna order the fish and chips, but a 2 piece was 17 $$$. Two pieces of fish, and a years supply of french fries. It's way too many fries, but that was the smallest size. I hate seeing food go to waste...and if i ate all that it would go to waist! This has always been an issue at this Herfy's, and now with the raise in prices, it's enough to keep me away from here. I love Herfy, but what is up with the lobby? There is zero seating. We drove hours from Idaho & went there to get food to take home, you can't even use the bathroom. There are boxes stacked all around, it looks like a messy closet with dying plants. I get that you might not EVER go back to customer in house service because well it's easier, but it's a hot mess in the dinning room. If you want to call it that. After 6 hours of driving & going in there to buy food, can't sit, can't pee, but things that could fall on you any minuet... It's a cat box that doesn't let you pee. This location has a wide variety of food to choose from. Ranging from burgers, seafood baskets and Philly Cheesesteaks. Due to COVID no seating inside and the bathrooms are roped off. They delivered to us while we sat in the vehicle at the parking lot. Amazing food! The flavor was perfect and couldn't be more impressed. If you are in the area this is a must stop!!! I have eaten at a few other Herfys & none of them compare. The food is just as good as the service. For me the Philly is a must have, don't get me wrong as the burgers are amazing as well. The fries are cooked right when you order & never stale from sitting in a warmer. Really poor greasy food, Burger I had was dry and had a bunch of gristle in it! Almost broke a tooth. Avoid this place.
