If you've read my reviews of other fine dining experiences in the Orting area, you'll know that I rate these restaurants based on the comparable food in the area (since Orting and Graham are quite far removed from the rest of civilization, it makes sense to compare them to each other, and not a restaurant you'll have to drive an hour and half to visit). That being said, Herfy's scores a solid 4 stars in my book.. The service is all handled at the counter (so don't expect excellent table side wait staff). The younger guy who runs the counter most days I've visited is friendly, efficient, and doesn't make mistakes with your order which is a big plus. The food generally makes it out pretty quickly and is always amply portioned. I've tried a number of their burgers and teriyaki dishes and found all to be good. Definitely the best burger joint in Orting and almost as good as Wawa and Modoo for teriyaki. During the summer, the milkshakes are well worth stopping in for. read more

We paid for fries we never received. We asked for extra fry sauce and got 2. The meal comes with 2. In the past this Herfy's has been good. The last time they didn't get our order correct, we gave them the benefit of the doubt...because of all the new Covid restrictions. Herfys never fails to disappoint. The produce is fresh ( I think they must even spin the lettuce and crisp it) the meat is fresh. It didn't seem like it had been frozen. Burgers are a handful! And the fries are PERFECTION crispy and absolutely zero taste of old oil...they must change theirs daily as it's as if you could drink it it's so flavorful! Good Burgers, stands out from the rest of the burger chain type joints. Fries are just the frozen krinkled type, but was perfectly fried, and they give a lot. I do have my favorite burger joints that I would give a five star, like Frugals in Parkland, WA.., and a sandwich shop pub type joint called SMACKY'S in Spokane, WA, off of I 90, just by the exit (forget the exit number). The bacon cheeseburger is where it's at and the butterfinger milkshake is the best. They take awhile to make the food, but it's worth it. This place is one of my "take out" places when cooking is out of the question. Downgraded to 4 stars due to their policy of not allowing cards to be used for payment if under seven dollars or less. At least let us use our cards and feel free to charge $.50 or more for a surcharge for doing so. I like that better than not letting us use our cards at all. It's very inconvenient. I walked in a looked at the menu and wanted to leave but I had heard they had good burgers so I stuck it out. The prices are as high as say the Ram but fast food. Some items are more expensive without the water view or the ambiance. I initially felt well they can only sting me once and ordered. I got a double Jalapeno burger and small blueberry milkshake. It was $13.XX and I sat down. The shake arrived quickly and was really good. But not seeing the burgers I waited to see the $10.99 fast food burger. Wow it was huge and really delicious. The balance of ingredients and the size of the burger, it was really tasty. I don't know that my budget has $17 or $18 quick lunches but it was a nice treat. Just thought I would pass it along, I like the little restaurants in that strip. Route 66 pizza is really nice and acientos 3 doors down is delicious and good value. So we called at 8:40 on a Saturday to place a to go order and were pretty much told it was too late - the girl said "we close at 9 and we said yes and it's 8:40. Reluctantly she took our order. My two sons and I stopped in here for a quick bite. It was our first time here. We ordered two bacon burgers and a large order of curly fries, because my youngest son wasn't too hungry. I have to say, I was in a bit of a shock at the total, which came out to be almost $20. The burgers came out huge, and the basket of fries were enough for the three of us.
