Unfortunately, our experience at Rotolo's Pizzeria was disappointing. The restaurant appeared clean when we picked up our order, but the food itself lacked flavor. The chicken Alfredo was very bland, especially for a dish that cost $17.50. The garlic balls that came with the pasta were hard and seemed stale. The service was also frustrating. The employee taking the order over the phone was difficult to understand and gave confusing information about the discount. At first, I was told the meal would be half off, but later it was changed to only $5 off. The explanation was unclear, which left me confused about the pricing. Our total came to around $38, and even our kids didn't want to finish their meals. For the price we paid, we expected much better food and clearer customer service. This is more of a 3-star review based on my overall experience, which reflects not just the Longview location, but Rotolo's as a chain. The main issue was the ordering process--it was frustrating from start to finish. I was trying to place a group lunch order, and one person requested a turkey burger. Apparently, only select Rotolo's locations offer that item, and Longview wasn't one of them. It would be helpful if the menu was consistent across all locations, or at least clearly marked to show which items are location-specific. Getting in touch with the Longview location was also a challenge. I tried calling multiple times, even just 10 minutes before opening, and couldn't get anyone to pick up. If you're a restaurant that handles lunch orders, it would make sense to have someone available a bit earlier to take phone calls and prepare for the day. I even contacted the Tyler location hoping they could assist since I was driving and trying to place the order remotely, but they told me they couldn't help with orders for another location. For a chain restaurant, there should be a better system in place--one where locations can at least support each other or help facilitate orders if needed. Eventually, I was able to reach the Longview store and place the order, but the whole process was inefficient and unnecessarily stressful, especially for something work-related. Call me a pizza snob, but I did not enjoy Rotolo's. We got a large Italian pizza and even though I was starving, I could not stomach more than one slice. The flavor was off: the marinara was sweet, as was the salami. And the dough was SO chewy. We will not be eating here again. read more

What a terrible experience we had. I had never experienced such a terrible experience and I hate it because I invited a friend since he'd never been to Rotolo's. Worst decision ever. We were rushed to get out because they had trivia night which that had absolutely nothing to do with our meal. Second, the manager came out and spoke to the two occupied tables next to us, the occupied booth beside us and proceeded to skip us. He asked how the food was... just completely polite to everyone but the us, the only two Mexican individuals sitting there. I was the first customer in today. Kept wondering why I was the only customer in the restaurant for the first thirty minutes. The bar had some decent names on it. Members Mark, Jameson, Jack Daniel's, to name a few. Then I got my ticket and understood why. Overpriced food. $10 for a ricotta dip starter that was basically the ricotta cheese and puréed marinara sauce. That's it. They did bring garlic bread for it, which was decent. Just cut it a little better. The pepperoni pizza I ordered was mid tho, and it was $9.50 for mid pizza. $25 altogether for one person after the soda. We had a good lunch here. We started it off with an appetizer called the Chalmette Cheesesticks and this ended up being our favorite thing. We were thinking maybe 5-6 cheesesticks but this was like a pizza itself cut up into sticks...it was thin crust and made of hot sauce with garlic butter and 4 cheeses: feta, Parmesan, mozzarella and cheddar and also a sauce to dip it in.....altogether it was delicious. From there we moved on to a meat calzone that looked and tasted awesome. We finished with the Krewe pizza that was okay for us but honestly by this time we were quite full. I don't know why this place gets a 3 & 1/2 ‍‍ I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. We ordered The Original Breadsticks and a 8" Angry Pig. My son loved the breadsticks and even said that they were the BEST he has had. He ate almost the whole thing and got mad when I tried to pack it up to go. The pizza...I HAD AN OUT OF BODY experience. The bbq sauce on it was ON POINT. The cheese and meat were AWESOME. And let's not mention how Taylor was a great waitress. I get it, this isn't a fancy place, but I had to laugh at how pitiful my to go order was tonight. See picture of salad, it was TINY. You couldn't even call it a side salad. Positives: The staff friendly, environment clean and nice. The portion sizes were huge and our table ordered 5 different items that we all enjoyed. My meat lover calzone was perfect. Negatives: Plates were all dirty and their app does not work for Texas locations. Per the corporate guy who was on site - another app developer is using their brand which raises the question "why can they not control their brand?".
