We love the pizza! Been going weekly for a few weeks. The servers are wonderful and friendly. The restaurant has a fun atmosphere.

We used to be big fans and ordered pizza here several times a week. They always got my wife's salad order wrong and the pizza is pretty marginal. Last night the cashier was extremely rude to my wife and we'll never eat there again. read more

I feel it's hard to find a good pizza restaurant here in Longview. Pizza king is okay. The servers are nice. The take-out is fairly fast.

In town to visit an old friend, he suggested this place for a meal and good conversation spot. Pizza was a standout, very tasty and generous toppings, and the crust was a bit different (in a good way) from other pizza places. Crunchy, not soggy at all, even under the loaded "garbage" pizza we ordered. When we ordered a pitcher of beer, the waitress brought out frosted mugs, which I haven't seen in donkey's. AND, she watched our table, and brought out fresh, ice cold mugs so that we always were pouring into cold mugs. That was unexpected, "above and beyond" service. Lots of families, obviously this is a locals hangout, and there is plenty of room. Staff was all friendly and welcoming, and stayed on top of anything we needed. Really was a great place to eat and catch up with my friend. Highly recommended! read more

What did they do to Pizza King? This used to be our family's Sunday dinner place. When we went a couple Sundays ago it was empty. Sundays used to mean a line at Pizza King, but you don't need to worry about a wait now. But neither do you need to worry about quality pizza. There are better choices in Longview for Sundays and even for pizza. read more

Pizza King was ok but not the best, the tippings on the pizza was good..but the crust was not the best at all.. the crust was not hand toss or tasted fresh. It literally tasted like cardboard sorry to say that but it had no flavor and they have only one type of crust. The appetizer meatball with marinara was very good and the salad was fresh. read more

Ordered three pizzas online for a work lunch and arrived at the scheduled pickup time, only to be handed one pizza. I was told the other two had been cut off the order and basically given an "oops" as an explanation. That would have been inconvenient regardless, but especially so since I was picking up for a specific time and had people waiting. The employee then tried to quickly put the two pizzas in to be made while I wait....when I asked how long it would take, he reluctantly said 20 minutes, which was already too long but anyone familiar with PZ knows large pizzas typically take 30-40 minutes. After already waiting 15 minutes discussing this, I asked for a refund for the two pizzas I didn't receive because I couldn't wait any longer. I was initially told they couldn't issue a refund since the order was placed online. I then asked what they could do, gift card, anything I didn't care I just needed to leave as I was now running late. I was told they could "write my name down" and apply a credit next time, which didn't feel legit at all nor was it an option as Id paid with a business card and so I needed a proper refund. Eventually, they said they would refund the card, but I wasn't given any receipt or confirmation, so here's hoping that actually goes through. Very disappointing experience. I've been coming here for 20 years, since I was a kid, and since the new ownership a few years ago the service seems to be lacking. All in all though the most disappointing part was that no manager came out to address the situation, instead, the same employee who made the mistake to begin with had to keep going back and forth to the back to discuss what they could do because the manager couldn't come address the issue themselves. Anyone with service industry experience knows this is the kind of situation where the order should have been fully comped and an apology for the mistake should have been made. Absolutely love Pizza King! Been getting pizza here since I was a kid and it's always been great. I personally love the cracker like crust (I know some people don't but I love a crispy pizza lol). Every bite always has a great amount of toppings and they don't drown it in sauce which is a plus for me because sometimes tomato sauces can be too acidic and hurt my mouth. Also love their sub sandwich! This is definitely more of a treat meal because they are on the more pricey side for pizza. But it's always a delight when we get it. read more

I was excited to try a restaurant that's been around almost as many years as I have! Sadly, the pizza was just mediocre. The toppings were fine and it was cooked to perfection but the crust was lacking. It was no better than a frozen pizza crust. I'm used to gourmet pizzas in Kansas City like Minsky's. It's OK, pizza, not great. If you're going to eat here, I suggest you eat inside so you can inspect your pizza to make sure it's got the correct toppings on it. Every single time I have ordered on the phone to pick up, they always always forget something. The last 3 times I ordered on the phone, they forgot my anchovies even after I advised them they forgot the time before, and they do not care just say," Oh!" They even got my daughters order wrong when we ate inside the place. I've only been here 6 times and 4 of those they screwed up. This place isn't worth your time. read more

Of every restaurant I've reviewed on these pages, Pizza King is my oldest friend. As a child growing up in Longview, there weren't pizza joints on every street corner, and the family came here because it was a heck of a lot cheaper than the chains. And that's where our friendship began. I have introduced others to this place through the years, and like some of the reviews I'm seeing here, they just didn't get it. And that's OK. I don't get poutine. Neither do I get chili served atop spaghetti. They're regional things. So is Pizza King. The crust here is very much like the unleavened St. Louis-style 'cracker' crust. Fresh dough yields a tender-crisp crust, whereas the older stuff can render it a little stiff. -- Sauce here is extremely concentrated, unlike the watered down versions typically found on takeout pizzas. -- The cheese (tastes like) straight up low moisture mozzarella. It's good. No real stretch, but also no grease. Most of the other toppings are par for the course, except for the pepperoni, which are spicier than average and cut slightly thicker. They are magically transformed in the oven to little grease-filled cups with crispy edges. The flavor is in the fat, and these are no exception. But it's nothing a couple of dabs with a napkin can't handle. The other Pizza King staple is its house dressing, which resembles ranch in appearance, but tastes more like the creamy garlic dressing that I'm sure they serve in Heaven. Salads here aren't usually top-notch, but the dressing elevates them. Some of my peeps also order the dressing for the sole purpose of dipping pizza ... Not my thing, but I guess I'm too old school. I've been eating Pizza King since it was in an old building (on the same lot) and you had to walk outside and around to use the bathroom. The newer place is not only much larger but more fun. The only other thing that has changed are the to-go boxes, which are now corrugated cardboard (they used to resemble the same material used on cake boxes). I know none of that really matters to the average person reading reviews to decide on dinner plans, but it's only prudent to point out that this place has a rich history. I don't live in Longview any more, but I still get it. And that's why I'll always head directly to Pizza King when I visit. read more

A great place to have Great Pizza! The Pizza is always made to order with toppings completely covering every inch of the Pizza. Be it Vegetables or Meat of any kind is always more than any Pizza Shop I have eaten at.The Crust is always cooked perfectly never burnt or undercooked. we have a 2 yr old and he isn't always a neat eater and they are always nice and very understanding of our situation and they always treat us as nice as the 1st time we walked through their door. read more

Pizza King although it has been sold by the original owners, still serves good pizza's. Only complaint is the dine in area was not as clean as it use to be kept as I had to ask for a towel to wipe down the Booth we were in. The young men and women now working the dinning area didn't demonstrate the pride in their job as they should and as the older generation does, they sat at the counter looking at their phones and talking to each other more than checking on the he customer they waiting on. read more

We picked up three different small pizzas to go. I know lots of folks feel the pizza has changed, but we did not find that to be the case at all. The toppings were abundant and evenly distributed. Fresh. Not too much cheese, just the right amount. We even are able to get Italian sausage on the chicken Alfredo now, and it's quite tasty. Yes the crust is a cracker crust, as it has always been. The pizza was delicious, and the house dressing was too. Don't be swayed by all the naysayers. If you are the person who enjoys an occasional pizza king like we are, then treat yourself! Have been eating at Pizza King for 30+ years, two to three times every month. Has always been our favorite pizza anywhere. Recently it has changed. This evening we ate there getting our normal pizzas. The pizza had no taste at all. The sausage and pepperoni had no taste and is certainly not the quality we have always loved. We will try it again in hopes that there was a supply issue. If we find quality like tonight we will move on. read more

My hubs picked me up a cauliflower pizza, (it's the only thing I get anytime we go there) and brought it home and tonight, it was the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten. I took one bite and spit it out The crust wasn't even cooked all the way through, the cheese wasn't melted all the way thru.... you could literally peel the crust away from the toppings. Once again, I am very disappointed in the chef salads. First of all they used to give you crackers with it. They no longer give you a package of the crackers, bread sticks or plastic utensils. Every salad I have bought to bring home I've had to throw out a large percentage of the lettuce due to it being brown. Lettuce is cheap. There are fewer black olives, carrots and cheese. The pizza was very good. However, I had to add cheese. As usual, things change with new ownership! That's unfortunate because Pizza King was ALWAYS known as the BEST pizza in Longview!! read more

Tried Pizza King for the first time since ownership change. What a disappointment. Ordered two pizzas and one was burnt on the bottom and the other was not cooked enough. I have been supporting Pizza King (Hwy 80 Location) for a long time, but the last 3 times (less than 6 months) I've ordered have been a disaster. Wrong pizza, burnt pizza and pizza wasn't ready, I have contacted PK in the past for the all these issues with "I'm sorry this happened." But last night was the end of my PK days. I arrived to pick up pizza at 6:13pm (for a 6:15pm pick up) and was told the pizza wasn't quite ready and she would call my name when ready (I did notice a couple of pizza on top of the ovens ready for pick up). Twenty minutes later I approached the front counter and asked how much longer for my pizza. and the guy turned around and said here's your pizza. I COULDN'T believe it, the same pizza that was sitting on top of the oven the entire time! I told him that was the same pizza thtat was on top of the oven when I arrived. His reply "Sorry." At least the pizza wasn't burnt but it was room temperature and soggy. Sad that this is the best PK can say. read more

My husband grew up here and told me that this pizza was the best pizza in the world. While I have to raise an eyebrow at this, it was tasty pizza. It also has alot of history and nostalgia for many of the people that still live there, both my husband and his brother and their cousins worked there growing up and they have some good memories there. It is a family run establishment and they cook everything fresh and to order...no canned veggies for them. The sausage is a fresh crumble that I really liked. The pepperoni is cut to order. The crust is a little weird from me growing up in NYC, I have long since stopped being a pizza snob but I like my crust still a little chewy and crisp. This crust is more crisp kind of cracker like. They load the toppings down but it wasn't so much that the pizza became a soggy mess. I really liked their fat kid's ketchup aka house made ranch dressing and we ordered a vat to go. It was only $3.25....I wish we had room to get more because I want to bathe in the stuff. The service was friendly and I honestly have no complaints. read more

Great pizza, chewy crust, and just an overall nice taste - it will take a while to get your pizza if you are dining in, this isn't fast food: be prepared to visit with family or friends, and have a pitcher of beer while you wait and enjoy life vs. having an expectation of something as fast as Pizza Hut. It's worth the wait. I always get several of the Take and Bake and put it in a cooler and bring it back to Houston. Pop them in the freezer, then pull one them out when you are ready. read more

We have eaten here several times or had it for catering. The pizza is loved or not liked by most people we hear talking about it.....no real in between. We love the Supreme Pizza and the Pepperoni but especially when dipped in the House Dressing. That is the best. We have tried other pizzas there and dessert pizzas and a couple of subs and so on..... All of these are good but our favorites are the Supreme and the Pepperoni pizza. The interior is all done up nice and old diner looking.... This place seems busy all the time and it can take a while to get a seat or your pizza. Good place to eat though. read more
