Wow! This place is a real gem. My standards for Filipino food are high and this place did not disappoint! I only had the ginataang kalabasa served with a peppery garlic rice but everything on the menu looked great. Super delicious, very flavorful, and fresh. I just hope I have enough time during my visit to try more menu items! Side note, the restaurant is right next to a milk tea place if that's your thing :)

I've been supporting Rosel's since day one (literally since the first day they opened). Not only is their food beautiful and delicious, they are also kind, wonderful people. I've tried almost all of their dishes, and I loved them all. You can tell they put so much love and care into every dish they serve. They use fresh local ingredients, and for every sale they donate $1 to Kids Against Hunger Canada. I highly recommend ordering one of their big platters to share with one or two other people so you can try a variety of their popular items. I'm so happy Rosel's is sharing their amazing Filipino food with the KW community. It's about time more people know about our culture's food! I hope these photos I took make you drool.

Omg! The Special Combo is the best deal around!! For $10.99 you get a main dish, rice or noodles, 2…read morespring rolls, some roast pork and pineapple juice. If I lived the Kitchener-Waterloo area, I would be here every single week!! The combo is huge. My husband and I shared it and we were stuffed silly. I got us the Bicol Express as our main (pork, green beans and peppers in a spicy creamy coconut milk sauce). It had a nice fiery kick to it. The pork was good, but too fatty for my tastes. Lots of fatty pieces, definitely not lean meats, lol. I chose the noodles (pancit bihon) instead of rice. I liked that the noodles were not oily/greasy. They had some cabbage and carrots in it. And was topped with pieces of deep fried pork belly (lechon kawali). The pork skin was so crispy (and fatty, but lechon kawali is supposed to be, lol). I loved the spring rolls (lumpia). They were long and crispy and the filling was mostly ground pork. I hate Caesar salad, so I gave it all to my husband. It was run of the mill, apparently. I found it odd that a Filipino restaurant would include Caesar salad as a side, but I guess it's a cheap filler. It was just romaine lettuce, croutons and dressing. The pineapple juice was good, but a bit on the sweet side. They were busy with tons of orders, but we didn't have to wait that long. Staff were friendly and courteous. They are in a converted house. There's free parking in front and behind the restaurant.

The "combo plate" I had was $12.99 plus tax, consists of a meat, carb, two lumpia shanghai (eggroll like, filled with pork), caesar salad and pineapple juice. The combo plate price seems to vary depending on what meat you order. For my meat and carb, I had the kare-kare, which was beef cooked in a rich peanut sauce, with white rice, and all mixed together it tasted absolutely delicious. I also had a pork belly as a side meat and thought that it was decent, but definitely preferred the kare-kare a lot more. The lettuce in the Caesar salad was fresh and the pineapple juice was very refreshing. No indoor seating due to COVID, and all the cooking/food areas are wrapped with plastic. There is some patio seating, but the area is not well shaded, and there is about seating for only 12 or so. There is a parking lot in front of the building with parking for about 7 cars (shared with the salon next door), but be sure not to park in the neighbouring Forwell Variety Store. They accept Amex and are eligible for a Shop Small promotion.

They do have a TV that has the Filipino shows so while your eating your meal you can enjoy some of the Filipino drama shows. Aside from doing take outs they also have catering menu so people who enjoy Filipino dishes and wanna share them on family occassions or even for parties they have a good selection of dishes. My person favorite is their baby empanadas I believe is 100pcs for $45 or $50 depending on what you get beef, chicken or pork I think. When I go there to pick up a dish with SMALL, MEDIUM or LARGE I always look for BOPIS which is a heart and lung dish it's hard to describe what it is made of but I really enjoy it and SISIG pigs ear belly cheeks and liver along with onion lime and chili. Alot of their dishes are delicious I have tried their PALABOK, BALATUNG, CALDARETA they are all good even some of their sweet dishes from TURON and BILO-BILO. I'm always in luck that when I go there everything was just made so it is fresh off the pan, pot or wok. The owners are super friendly they always make you feel welcomed and they are generous with their portions even though they have small medium and large containers they will make sure to fill it up.. I do reccomend this place to all my friends and family esp for parties and events you definitely need to try their party trays but do order in advance..

We ordered their Halo-Halo, Palabok and their Berto's Fried Chicken. Halo-Halo (5/5) is hands down the best summer dessert. It's so refreshing and had the perfect blend of sweetness and creaminess. They added the perfect amount of ube ice cream, caramel flan and a mixture of jelly, red beans and sugar palm fruit at the bottom. It's a must-try treat. Palabok (2/5) was okay. It was a bit dry and not as saucy as we would've preferred. It could use some chicharron (pork rinds). There's not much protein in this meal other than the boiled egg which was a let-down. We also noticed that some of the noodles have crisped up as well which must've been from the heat lamp/steam table. The dish could use some shrimp and topped with some fried garlic chips. Berto's Fried Chicken (5/5) was delicious. It was fresh, tender and juicy. It had the right amount of seasoning that didn't make it overwhelmingly salty. The garlic fried rice and fried eggs were a great combination with chicken. Any of their breakfast items have always been good.

Originally, a group of us (twelve) from work wanted to visit La Bonita for lunch last Friday. My…read morefriend had made the reservation. However, she got a voice message in Spanish and didn't understand it. We got to La Bonita and the sign said that it would be closed till January 30. Well, we went on January 31 and it was still closed. Perhaps that was the message that my friend got -- that it was closed. The twelve of us were standing outside. Where should we go next? One of them suggested walking over to Carinderia. She said that it was "around the corner" and had never been there before. It was more like three corners, but we all walked over like we were doing a school trip. We put together a number of tables. We then went up to the counter to place our orders. This place offers Filipino food. We had two folks, including my intern, who helped us decipher the menu. I saw ramen on the menu and I knew that I had to have a bowl. The mami ramen with grilled pork belly was calling my name. My intern knew that I would get it. I also eyed the halo halo, but needed to figure out how full I would be after eating the ramen. While waiting in line, a man came over with a bin of fried chicken skins and offered them to us. It was such a kind, generous gesture. I took a photo and then grabbed one. It was delicious. So good! The woman taking our orders was sweet. She was happy talking to my intern. The Filipino connection bonded them. She thanked him for bringing us over here, ultimately bringing her business. I joked that he is now VIP at this eatery. I ordered the ramen and grabbed a bottle of C2 apple green tea. I paid using a debit card. She took my name and said that she'd call me when my order was ready. My friend started with dessert. She got flan and was sharing it with everyone at our table. I didn't feel like dessert at this stage, but it did look creamy. I was sipping my C2 apple green tea. It was yummy. It wasn't overly sweet. I am a fan. I learned a few Filipino words while we were waiting: - Carinderia means canteen or cafeteria - Halo halo translates to mix mix, which is what you need to do when you get this dessert - Salamat means thanks The food came out one order after the other. I got my food in about fifteen minutes. That's not bad, but I was hungry. At first, the ramen portion looks small. However, it's incredibly deceiving. The noodles were chewy and perfect. You get a whole hard-boiled egg that is split in half. The grilled pork belly were generous portions that were thick and full of flavour. Speaking of flavour, that broth! It was so delicious. Unfortunately, the place ran out of metal spoons. My intern asked for a spoon on my behalf and we got plastic ones. They weren't meant for ramen noodles and broth, but they still worked out well. Two colleagues got halo halo for dessert. It has a bunch of goodies in it. My intern doesn't like the texture of halo halo, so he passed. Our other colleague who is Filipino, was hoping for ice cream in it. This one did not have it, but she said that it was good otherwise. The woman handling our orders came over to our table to thank us for coming. She apologized for the wait. We were all happy and loved our food. I let her know that the food was delicious, which made her day. There are hot food items available that are not mentioned on the menu. You have to look and ask what the food items are. They change daily. I'd come back here and try more food. I loved my food. Prices are reasonable. (41)

There's a piece of flan in the halo halo, which was delicious! And that ube mash. And the banana mash-thing... so good. The pork belly rice was pretty good - kinda what you'd expect from deep fried belly. Palabok was good i think? It just wasn't my cup of tea. Everything was very hot and fresh! I would definitely return to try their other items and get another halo halo, duhhhhh.
