Filipino food. Go to place for palabok! Lots of good crunchy chi Charon for toppings and the sauce was sweet and consistent

Such a cute and delightful spot! Service was fast, friendly and helpful. I had a lot of questions since it was my first time there. They answered all my questions and had good recommendations. They make some great goodies with a Filipino spin! For my first visit, I tried mini sausage buns, Cinnamada (cheesey cinnamon rolls!) and cake slices (the San Rival is ). Everything was beautiful and flavourful. Must return to try more.

I'm Filipino so I always get super excited when I stumble across small Filipino owned bakeries and man did this place blow me away. They are a little pricy here imo (for the empanadas) but you will not be disappointed. I bought a dulce de leche cupcake and I'm usually a frosting hater so I was a little skeptical since it looked heavy on the frosting, but once I bit in I was delighted by how light and moist it was! I also got one chicken and one pork empanada and they were both delicious. My favorite between the two was the pork. The crust was rich and flaky and the filling was super authentic, reminding me of what I've eaten growing up. The interior is also so cute, it smells amazing once you step inside, and the girl with the hijab working the register was really nice as well. I ended up purchasing a 6 pack of half chicken half pork empanadas to take home to my family!! 10/10 will be back soon :)

Omg! The Special Combo is the best deal around!! For $10.99 you get a main dish, rice or noodles, 2…read morespring rolls, some roast pork and pineapple juice. If I lived the Kitchener-Waterloo area, I would be here every single week!! The combo is huge. My husband and I shared it and we were stuffed silly. I got us the Bicol Express as our main (pork, green beans and peppers in a spicy creamy coconut milk sauce). It had a nice fiery kick to it. The pork was good, but too fatty for my tastes. Lots of fatty pieces, definitely not lean meats, lol. I chose the noodles (pancit bihon) instead of rice. I liked that the noodles were not oily/greasy. They had some cabbage and carrots in it. And was topped with pieces of deep fried pork belly (lechon kawali). The pork skin was so crispy (and fatty, but lechon kawali is supposed to be, lol). I loved the spring rolls (lumpia). They were long and crispy and the filling was mostly ground pork. I hate Caesar salad, so I gave it all to my husband. It was run of the mill, apparently. I found it odd that a Filipino restaurant would include Caesar salad as a side, but I guess it's a cheap filler. It was just romaine lettuce, croutons and dressing. The pineapple juice was good, but a bit on the sweet side. They were busy with tons of orders, but we didn't have to wait that long. Staff were friendly and courteous. They are in a converted house. There's free parking in front and behind the restaurant.

The "combo plate" I had was $12.99 plus tax, consists of a meat, carb, two lumpia shanghai (eggroll like, filled with pork), caesar salad and pineapple juice. The combo plate price seems to vary depending on what meat you order. For my meat and carb, I had the kare-kare, which was beef cooked in a rich peanut sauce, with white rice, and all mixed together it tasted absolutely delicious. I also had a pork belly as a side meat and thought that it was decent, but definitely preferred the kare-kare a lot more. The lettuce in the Caesar salad was fresh and the pineapple juice was very refreshing. No indoor seating due to COVID, and all the cooking/food areas are wrapped with plastic. There is some patio seating, but the area is not well shaded, and there is about seating for only 12 or so. There is a parking lot in front of the building with parking for about 7 cars (shared with the salon next door), but be sure not to park in the neighbouring Forwell Variety Store. They accept Amex and are eligible for a Shop Small promotion.

They do have a TV that has the Filipino shows so while your eating your meal you can enjoy some of the Filipino drama shows. Aside from doing take outs they also have catering menu so people who enjoy Filipino dishes and wanna share them on family occassions or even for parties they have a good selection of dishes. My person favorite is their baby empanadas I believe is 100pcs for $45 or $50 depending on what you get beef, chicken or pork I think. When I go there to pick up a dish with SMALL, MEDIUM or LARGE I always look for BOPIS which is a heart and lung dish it's hard to describe what it is made of but I really enjoy it and SISIG pigs ear belly cheeks and liver along with onion lime and chili. Alot of their dishes are delicious I have tried their PALABOK, BALATUNG, CALDARETA they are all good even some of their sweet dishes from TURON and BILO-BILO. I'm always in luck that when I go there everything was just made so it is fresh off the pan, pot or wok. The owners are super friendly they always make you feel welcomed and they are generous with their portions even though they have small medium and large containers they will make sure to fill it up.. I do reccomend this place to all my friends and family esp for parties and events you definitely need to try their party trays but do order in advance..

That is a bit pricey compared to other places in Scarborough. The space is too small, and it was very cramped seating. I was not able to face the stage where i was sitting. The lounge is on the upper floor and not handicap accessible. The pork sisig was disappointing. We usually order a party tray and it was really good. The sizzling plate in the restaurant had lots of fat and no meat. We even ordered 2 sisig and same thing all fat. The pork bbq was really good with a nice thick layer of sweet savory bbq sauce. There were some unedible pieces of fat, but overall, it was a good appetizer. The hot wings were crispy and juicy and nice, sweet chili dipping sauce to compliment them. The wings were not spicy at all. The menu is QR code scan using your mobile device. The server was taking orders using a tablet point of sale device. They are licensed to serve alcohol and you can order buckets of beer, wine, and cocktails. The live entertainment was pretty interactive, and they invited some people from my group to sing along karaoke style with the band. If live music and karaoke are your favorite way to enjoy a night out, then this place might be for you. For me, the tight seating arrangements and some subpar food offerings left something to be desired. The beer buckets are quite pricey and if you are looking for Red Horse, they do serve the tall boy cans here. Expect to pay a premium for the import beers. We drank Stella Artois. The total bill, including 5 x $10 cover charge came up to $280. It was very expensive considering the food we ate and 2 buckets of beer. If you are looking for a local Filipino karaoke bar, then this place might be a good place

Ended up staying for lunch instead because why not celebrate Canada's Filipino Heritage Month with some Filipino eats and since we have none by us. We decided to try the Filipino BBQ and lumpia with some rice. Let's just say the food was so good we didn't get a chance to even take a photo lol. The BBQ was flavorful and enjoyably better than other Filipino BBQs we've tried back in NY. We would definitely want to come back here again next time we're in town. Everyone was friendly in there and greeted us open arriving and leaving. They also have other treats there like halo halo, Filipino ice cream, pandesal, ensaymada, kutschinta, and more. Definitely worth checking out if you're ever in the area.
