I've tried tacos from other places and I can still say this is the best tacos I've had in Mississauga. Now I come here frequently with my boyfriend whenever we feel like having tacos. We usually get five tacos each whenever we come. Last week, we came to get our usual. I got a Bang bang shrimp, pescado, the chicken pastor, the birria, and the Thai sweet chili cauliflower. He got two chicken pastors, a Bang bang shrimp, a Carne asada, and a pescado. I tried to order an elote but it seems they were out. I've already tried it before and just wanted to relive the goodness, so it was no big deal. It was quite busy that Sunday afternoon (we usually go on Thursday afternoons which is far less busy) but we were able to grab a table. The tacos were amazing as usual. I like how they use different tortillas for each tacos which complement each the protein inside the taco. For example, they double wrap the chicken pastor, and the birria tacos use a tortilla that can handle the dip. I also love their choice of toppings. I think the hickory sticks with the Carne asada work so well together, and the chicken pastor with the pineapples are so delicious. When we got the chicken pastors that Saturday, they didn't put pineapples on ours, but I assume they ran out. I've actually tried all of their tacos, and my favourites are definitely the Bang bang shrimp and the Pescado. The flavours just hit! I was pleasantly surprised by the Thai sweet chili cauliflower one. My boyfriend was telling me deep fried cauliflower tastes way better than normal cauliflower, and this taco delivered. The Thai sweet chili flavour really works. If you are planning to order 4+ tacos at a time, note that they deliver the tacos generally at the same time. I would resist the urge to wait until all tacos are on your table before eating as the tacos will cool down. Some tacos can handle the wait (like the birria) while other tacos are best enjoyed right away (like the shrimp and pescado). Overall, an amazing place to get tacos. Make sure you also try their other dishes, as well as their drinks, as they are quite unique and delicious too!

Fresh ingredients, great flavor, and the sauce goes so well with the shrimp. I unfortunately underestimated the wait time for this place. I ordered via UberEats on a weekday evening, after finishing work in the area and was floored by the 40min estimated wait time, for 2 whole tacos. I really should have cut my losses and cancelled my order I was only about 10 minutes away but very far from home so I went ahead to double check if the wait time was accurate. They did take the full 40 mins. There were 2 staff on site, but only one person that seemed to do the cooking. Great tacos, but 40 mins is crazy. It's pretty pricey (like restaurant pricing equivalent) so combined with the long wait and slightly out of the way location, Im not exactly dying to come back. If you do decide to go, definitely order in advance. There's lots of parking there and lots of seating. What's odd is when I went, there were only 3-4 tables out of 10+ in use and it wasn't that busy inside the store, so who knows if it's a one off thing or they are always understaffed?

After work today, I was picking up a beverage order at Starbucks and noticed that this Harvey's was open. It has taken over the store that was Fresh Burger, and is between Chipotle and Sunset Grill. I thought that I would order a meal through the Harvey's app on my phone. I'd then fetch it at the eatery and sit down to enjoy it. I placed my order in my car, parked at Circle K, which was across the street. I took advantage of the angus burger combo for $8.99 before taxes, which had the following: - Angus burger on a multigrain bun - Onion rings - Diet Pepsi (I upgraded to a large) for $0.50 I got word that it would be ready in fifteen minutes. It was enough time for me to redeem some coupons at Circle K and then drive over to Harvey's. I ended up with a prime parking spot steps away from both Chipotle and Harvey's. I backed into the spot and walked in. There was a man sitting down at a table on the right. I headed straight to the counter and got a cheerful, bubbly woman. I let her know that I was picking up a takeout order and said my first name. Her colleague nodded and fetched my order in a paper bag. I thanked both of them and found a table. I sat down and had dinner, watching CP24 on the screen. The angus burger was delicious. It had garlic mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and relish. The multigrain bun was soft and held everything together. It was fantastic! My Diet Pepsi was okay. It didn't have enough Diet Pepsi syrup from the fountain machine. I should have stuck with the regular size. I loved my onion rings. They were crispy and naturally sweet. I dipped them in ketchup. I used the washroom before I headed home. There are two single stalls. One was wheelchair-accessible. I used the regular one. It was clean. What I loved about it was a little shelf that I used to place my drink on it. Nice! I'm happy that there's this eatery by my workplace. It's a nice change from having McDonald's in the area when I crave a burger. Welcome, Harvey's! It's a beautiful thing. (327)

My workplace is a five-minute drive to this eatery. It occupies the space that was Starbucks. When I walked in, I could still spot subtle reminders of this cafe, from the baked goods display when you place your order, to the Starbucks green upholstery. The Burger Alley did a great job adding its own design flair to it. I especially liked the zen rocks and shrubs. I like that there are more Halal burger joints popping up around my workplace. A decade ago, Burger Factory was the lone eatery. It's nice that there's competition, which includes Gladiator Burger and Steak, Chainsmoker Urban Barbeque, and now, The Burger Alley. This place accepts debit and credit cards. I never have cash on me, so I don't know about its acceptance. For burgers, it offers beef and chicken. So far, I have only done beef because it is excellent and I crave it. One of these days, I'll go with a chicken burger. My burger of choice is the Avada Kebabza beef burger. It's yummy! The beef in this burger was delicious. It was so juicy that at one stage, the juices were dripping down my left hand to my wrist. The bun was soft and toasted. It tasted like a potato bun. The lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, and pickles were so fresh. The beef bacon was so good. Halal. Yummy. I also got caramelized onions and sautéed mushrooms. If you like cheese, this place splurges on real cheddar and swiss cheese slices. The pickle slices are perfectly tangy and crunchy. I love the coleslaw. It was crunchy and enjoyable. The fries were excellent. They were crispy and had the best masala seasoning. Even with the most garlicky mayo on top, these fries remained crispy from start to finish. I was impressed. This place has a decent selection of pop. I've tried a lot of drinks here. Diet Coke. Crush grape and cream soda. For an exotic change-up, I tried a Salaam Cola. It's yummy. It's got a milder cola taste than Coke or Pepsi. I liked the can's design. There were two gender-neutral washroom stalls. I used one when I got there and just before I left the eatery. It was clean and nicely maintained. It's an excellent burger joint. Its original location is in Scarborough. I'll need to visit it someday. In the meantime, it's nice that I can grab a burger for lunch when I'm in the office and be content. (65)

I was so excited to find a spot closer, since they recently opened a second location. When I tell you the first thing I do when landing from a flight is go home and straight to the shower, you gotta know that this spot must be special because I did a detour on my way home and stopped here first for a bite. I couldn't make it to their grand opening but I was so glad that it's only 10 minutes from the airport. The burgers are amazing and one bite is all it took to remind me that they were just as good as I remember them to be last time I had it. I also added some alley fries and a salaam cola to the order this time, but I don't like the garlic sauce used for the fries though the seasoning is perfect. The burgers are hands down my favourite and I'm totally coming back often. I love that you can choose from so many different options and they've got multiple chicken burger options too.

However, she got a voice message in Spanish and didn't understand it. We got to La Bonita and the sign said that it would be closed till January 30. Well, we went on January 31 and it was still closed. Perhaps that was the message that my friend got -- that it was closed. The twelve of us were standing outside. Where should we go next? One of them suggested walking over to Carinderia. She said that it was "around the corner" and had never been there before. It was more like three corners, but we all walked over like we were doing a school trip. We put together a number of tables. We then went up to the counter to place our orders. This place offers Filipino food. We had two folks, including my intern, who helped us decipher the menu. I saw ramen on the menu and I knew that I had to have a bowl. The mami ramen with grilled pork belly was calling my name. My intern knew that I would get it. I also eyed the halo halo, but needed to figure out how full I would be after eating the ramen. While waiting in line, a man came over with a bin of fried chicken skins and offered them to us. It was such a kind, generous gesture. I took a photo and then grabbed one. It was delicious. So good! The woman taking our orders was sweet. She was happy talking to my intern. The Filipino connection bonded them. She thanked him for bringing us over here, ultimately bringing her business. I joked that he is now VIP at this eatery. I ordered the ramen and grabbed a bottle of C2 apple green tea. I paid using a debit card. She took my name and said that she'd call me when my order was ready. My friend started with dessert. She got flan and was sharing it with everyone at our table. I didn't feel like dessert at this stage, but it did look creamy. I was sipping my C2 apple green tea. It was yummy. It wasn't overly sweet. I am a fan. I learned a few Filipino words while we were waiting: - Carinderia means canteen or cafeteria - Halo halo translates to mix mix, which is what you need to do when you get this dessert - Salamat means thanks The food came out one order after the other. I got my food in about fifteen minutes. That's not bad, but I was hungry. At first, the ramen portion looks small. However, it's incredibly deceiving. The noodles were chewy and perfect. You get a whole hard-boiled egg that is split in half. The grilled pork belly were generous portions that were thick and full of flavour. Speaking of flavour, that broth! It was so delicious. Unfortunately, the place ran out of metal spoons. My intern asked for a spoon on my behalf and we got plastic ones. They weren't meant for ramen noodles and broth, but they still worked out well. Two colleagues got halo halo for dessert. It has a bunch of goodies in it. My intern doesn't like the texture of halo halo, so he passed. Our other colleague who is Filipino, was hoping for ice cream in it. This one did not have it, but she said that it was good otherwise. The woman handling our orders came over to our table to thank us for coming. She apologized for the wait. We were all happy and loved our food. I let her know that the food was delicious, which made her day. There are hot food items available that are not mentioned on the menu. You have to look and ask what the food items are. They change daily. I'd come back here and try more food. I loved my food. Prices are reasonable. (41)

There's a piece of flan in the halo halo, which was delicious! And that ube mash. And the banana mash-thing... so good. The pork belly rice was pretty good - kinda what you'd expect from deep fried belly. Palabok was good i think? It just wasn't my cup of tea. Everything was very hot and fresh! I would definitely return to try their other items and get another halo halo, duhhhhh.
