During school Mozy's was always the place for late night munchies and I have always remembered it as my favourite shawarma place. 3 years after graduation, I paid another visit to Waterloo and decided to try Mozy's again to see how it stacks up to GTA shawarma. You order at the cashier and are able to watch as your shawarma is put together. I usually get the regular chicken shawarma in a pita and it costs around $10 after tax. The service is always quick and the verdict is... Mozy's is just as delicious as I remembered it! Definitely holds true as one of the best Shawarma I have ever had in Canada. They give a generous serving of moist and flavourful chicken balanced with a perfect amount of veggies and garlic sauce. The thin and crispy pita wraps it together beautifully. I have seen many restaurants in the King and University plaza come and go and I really really hope that Mozy will be there forever. read more

It was a late night and I wanted a quick dinner, so I swang by to pick up a falafel shawarma. I ordered mine without pickles. Some people like a lot of sauce, but I prefer less (unless it's hot sauce!) There was too much garlic sauce for my liking that it overpowered the rest of the flavours in the shawarma. This was the same case for my previous visit when I tried the chicken shawarma. The falafel tasted pretty average. I think it would have tasted better if the pita was toasted longer. Service was fast and friendly though. Portions are also huge - one wrap lasted me two meals! Maybe I'm just spoiled from all the good shawarmas in Scarbs, so Mozys didn't hit the spot for me. If you're looking for a quick, filling meal and you're a fan of lots of sauce, I'd say it doesn't hurt to try this place out! read more

You have to get the Full Flavour Shawarma! It's packed with chicken, FRIES, garlic sauce, pickles and it tastes SO DARN GOOD! Their pita encases mounds of fresh juicy chicken with the addition of fries. You'd think they'd become soggy and not at all appealing, but it just adds to the texture. The size is huge! If you're starving then one will definitely be enough. Otherwise, be prepared to take a break in between your meal. This place was actually pretty tasty. If you compare to Shawerma Plus who is really close by, this place is a little cheaper and little bit smaller. (Full Flavour Shawarma is $7.17) It was surprisingly tasty and filling despite me initially questioning how much I would be filled up by the wrap. The wrap was filled with tons of meat and was surprisingly tender. The pickle and fries in the wrap also make it extremely delicious. 5/5 I'd recommend people trying this place out. Actually not a fan of this place AT ALL. The people working there are incredibly rude! I ordered a full flavour shawarma once and when it was my turn to pick it up the guy said "regular shawarma" so I said "no.. Full flavour". His response was " but I already made this." Lol what? But I didn't even order that and my receipt says full flavour... Not to mention that their shawarma is incredibly salty and SO greasy!! It makes you feel so horrible and bloated after and it literally drips in oil. I've had both the shawarma and falafel wraps, which are good for the price and the helping is a nice size. Lovely staff and friendly environment. Unfortunately my rating above is directed towards the plate meals. The plates in my opinion were just deconstructed wraps ... comes with generic salad, pickles and fries with a pita bread thrown on top. Now that's kind of unusual for anyone whos had plates in toronto or elsewhere since it normally comes with a side of rice, potatoes or other dishes and no plate has ever come with a slab of pita bread. When I think about getting a shawarma from Mozy's, I just get kind of emotional because I feel like it's also a spiritual experience. Full flavour shawarma, always. I recommend getting extra pickles if you enjoy how it adds texture, contrast and cuts the fat of the chicken and garlic sauce. And extra garlic sauce. The extra pickles you can skip, the extra garlic sauce you cannot. One time, I had a bad day so I got Mozy's and it became the best day in my entire week even though I had insane garlic breath and stomach problems after. I have tried pitas and shwarma at various places, and I was never truly impressed - until I found Mozy's Shwarma. This establishment is a turning point in my university career, and my life post-Mozy's has been significantly more worth living. I remember the first time I visited, I ordered their regular Shwarma wrap (with lettuce, pickles and onions). I remember thinking the price of 7.95 was a bit steep, but I might as well try it. And then I took my first bite. Holy. Hot. Damn. My next 3 dinners were all at Mozy's, as I introduced my various untested friends to this establishment. The density of a Mozy's Shwarma is absolutely stunning. It's filled with so much content, so many different flavors, and enough chicken to keep any person satisfied. The garlic sauce mixed with the pickles, juxtaposed by the onslaught of flavor from chicken, all wrapped in delicious pita bread - I'm drooling just writing about this place. Since then, I've also tried the full flavor shwarma wrap. It is tastier because of the addition of fries, but it is also significantly less healthy, so I avoid it as much as I can. The plates are great, and are enough to feed two people (I've shared it as a meal plenty of times, and felt stuffed Everytime). Needless to say, I recommend this to everyone. Really awesome and popular place! They stuff their shawarmas with a loot of chicken and it's pretty great! Though their plates are a bit pricey (a little over $10), it also come with rice and fries and the meal really blends well together with the chicken. I love how they scorch the pita bread and toss it into the plate. Their garlic sauce is pretty good, though personally they put too much into the plate and it becomes really messy. This place sells the best shawarma ever! I frequent this place when I'm in Waterloo. Everyone needs to try the Full Flavour Shawarma. Mozy's definitely got the ingredients down for the best shawarma ever. There's chicken, pickles, creamy garlic sauce and fries! I usually go for extra garlic sauce to make it more tasty. The portion size is big and I never really finish it. I eat it for two meals, but I'm a small person. I usually pop the second half in the microwave for round 2. I've got my standards set pretty high since I lived in Saudi Arabia for 10 years. But this place is the closest to what I've grown up with. I was surprised when I saw on the menu that they served shawarma with pickles and garlic sauce. Just like home! None of this lettuce, tomato bullsh- Only thing missing were the fries. So I had to ask if I could sneak in some fries in there (ready to get some weird looks like that one time I asked Villa Madina to just put in potatoes, pickles and garlic sauce in my shawarma) but they told me the fries already comes with it. The grin on my face was glued the entire wait for my meal. This is the closest thing to what I know a shawarma to be and what I haven't had in 12 odd years. Granted it wasn't perfect, they added srirracha sauce (not used to that in an Arabic shawarma), too much pickles not enough garlic sauce and fries and the chicken was too dry. But I am still one happy customer. Haven't seen anyone else do this style of shawarma and I'm so happy you guys brought back a little piece of my home to my taste buds. Coming from the Middle East I wasn't impressed by it but it did taste good. I ordered a chicken shawarma platter. The chicken is good. The veggies and fries with garlic sauce is good. The pita on the other hand was stale. Unsure if it's made in house or commercial bought. The price is appropriate to portion size. I would eat here again when I'm craving a shawarma. People used to tell me that this place is the best place for shawarmas in town, and now I believe them after going there many times and trying out what they offer. However, best shawarma doesn't mean much in a small town like Waterloo where options for food is little compared to big cities, so keep that in mind. I went there 3 times in 5 days, and everything I tried was phenomenal! Basically, they serve two things: falafel and shawarma. Both are available on either a wrap or a plate, with fries or rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and delicious pickled veggies, topped off with tahini, garlic mayo, and/or Sriracha sauce. If you get a plate with fries, it is like shawarma/falafel poutine--all the flavors mix together in one awesome burst of deliciousness! This shawarma place in the middle of student hub in Waterloo is one of the best shwarmas I have ever had. We went there at midnight and they were open until 2am - we were starving and their full flavoured wrap that comes with hot sauce and fries in the shawarma wrap left my husband super satisfied and filled. Large, freshly made shawarma! I like that they fry the meat before they stuff it into the naan so that it's nice and hot. The size of the shawarma is quite big and they give u lots of meat. The skin of the naan is a little too thin in my opinion cuz the meat kept falling off as I eat. Mozy's is a staple for all post-secondary kids in KW/Waterloo region. I get this at least once every time I come visit friends. The shawarma plate is big enough to share with two people (or one meal for yourself if you're super hungry). The plate comes with rice or fries, a big helping of chicken and a bed of salad of lettuce, onion, tomatoes, turnips and a pita folded and grilled on their rotating meat spit. To be honest, I've had better chicken plates for the same price (outside of Waterloo). The wait can also be kind of a bummer, I wonder if you could call ahead. This is an updated review and unfortunately the rating is coming down from a 5 to a 2. Here is why: Over the last few months I have observed a general deterioration in the quality of care afforded to customers such as a) no soap in the washroom b) hot water not working in the washroom c) on multiple occasions burnt or severely dried of chicken shawarma has been added into our food d) the pita bread in the shawarma plate used to be toasty hot and completely delicious - but in recent times it has been cold and not at all what it used to be e) the salad items have been very cold to the point that some items can be considered still frozen. Frozen tomato does not taste so good f) despite the above, they have increases their prices and now Mozy's is the most expensive chicken shawarma plate on the block and the lowest in quality. Bold statement yes, but I would ask the reader to try Shawarma Royale and Shawarma Plus all within walking distance and compare with what Mozy's has been offering lately. Conclusion: I and my dad have been disappointed mutliple times in the past few months but we will not be coming back here anymore until we hear that things have changed for the better from fellow shawarma lovers in town. read more
